I was wondering exactly how Stampede would interact with Ravage considering the gigantic crit boost you can spec in with Predatory Strikes. I had assumed that Ravage! is the answer - a separate ability to prevent the free Ravage! from gaining crit from the talent.

This is in fact not the case, and a test of 50 Ravages and 50 Ravage!s show them to be identical abilities. My gear isn't great so there may still be minute differences in scaling, but it wasn't represented in my test, and it isn't represented in the spell details above.

Now I am extremely curious as to the exact reason why this has been split into a separate ability while remaining an exact duplicate, and the only guess that comes to mind is that it enables a much more simplified means of delivering a nerf if such a need arises. Honestly, Pyroblast and Pyroblast! necessitate some distinction due to cast time. If Stampede wasn't consumed by your default Ravage I might understand, but it is consumed, because they are the same ability; they behave exactly the same way, they are modified in the exact same manner, and BOTH tooltips still claim to require stealth and position while Stampede is active. Virtually every class can proc free versions of existing abilities without the need for an additional spell. I just don't see a point to it.

~~Also, a stampeded Ravage! consumes clearcasting, which is irritating to say the least~~ hotfixed! Stampede IS a nifty addition, but something about Ravage! doesn't seem quite right - it just means that a single ability appears under two different names in your logs. That's it.

I just tested this on a test dummy in Orgrimmar: Ravage! also does not require you to be behind your target, you can simply cast it as soon as you're in range. By taking two points in Stampede, you're essentially closing the gap and using a powerful combo point-applying ability for free, setting you up for success in both PVP and PVE situations.

I got my druid up to 73 and quit because of the utterly ridiculous complications of trying to create macros using ravage. You can't create a macro that uses ravage because the game will want Ravage!. You can't use Ravage! and ravage interchangeably and I, only having 6 fingers after saluting blizzards developers over this, cant create enough key bindings to make this key skill useable. It's retarded to have to create a duplicate macro for Ravage and Ravage! and if it's so easy it should be twice as easy for Blizzards techs to bang out the code to simply iron this flat.

Any castsequence macro using ravage is broken. When Ravage! is active Ravage becomes Ravage! and when you hit it Ravage! is consumed and the Ravage action is still unused in the sequence but Ravage unlike Ravage! cannot be used out of stealth which you now are having used Ravage! making Ravage unusable. However if you replace Ravage with Ravage! so that only Ravage! us used you can't ever use Ravage unless you have the Stampede buff making Ravage! active so you are back to square 1 in that regards.

This is one complication of Cat Form, it seems Cat is especially vulnerable to UI problems, making them less controllable yet more complicated. It looks like such a fun spec to play, but it's more like work.
