You could always put this on the healer in your 5-man every 30 seconds, just in case.

Also, a question - it says "group member" but can you use it on yourself as well?

Note that you can have your pet intervene to you and then charge your target.

The self intervene macro is merely:

While it does not seem like much (One hit every 30 seconds? Lolwut?) this can be very helpful. I cannot count the number of times while healing on my Druid that I could have saved a person had they lasted a split second longer.

For a single point you get a great ability that can be useful in a great number of situations. Also keep in mind that the cooldown will be decreased to 20 seconds with Longevity.

Any self respecting Hunter with a tenacity pet should have this :)

This is best pet talent.. Helps in many pvp situations especially against meele classes, like- wing clip your opponent, disengage, intervene and make a fast bandage. They cant stop you with that nasty Throw.

Anyone knows when does this ability auto cast? It has a auto cast mode that you can toggle.

I tried fighting two mobs, one attacking the pet (at 25 yards) and one attacking me.
After the mob attacking the pet died, the pet actually walked to the mob, not using Intervene as I would expect. For the matter of fact, the pet actually walked to the mob that was attacking me(he was on defensive), not using not even Charge.

Another pvp use for this ability is to simply have your pet intervene yourself as a means to quickly get it out of trouble. But tenacity pets have survivability troubles to a lesser extent.

Does this talent do anything automatically, such as saving a party member in heroic? Otherwise i don't see this as anything but pvp talent.

Don't Forget,in arena this talent is badass.The first what a paladins,rogues are doing is to stun me(In most cases,if not a strong attack it will be :] ).Make a macro,let your pet help you to defend yourself or worse ! :).

Why you haven't seen your pet using Intervene while set it on auto - cast every cooldown? Well, because (as the macro, or the tooltip suggests) it needs you to have targeted a friendly target, so I would guess that it would have used it automatically if it was in range, you just had to target, in this case, yourself. The same with Roar of Sacrifice. Also, leaving these 2 on auto-cast would be a shame, thats why you need macros as in the comments above. As for Intervene, if you're expierenced enough, you could easily use it to "absorb" Explosive, Chimera shots, Blind, Stuns... Except for the Paladin stun, though, since it's not a (non - spell) ranged attack, nor melee, it's a spell (can be reflected).

It seems Blizz changed this at some point to absorb damage, equal to half the pet's health which is a LOT of health on a tenacity pet, which is great for anti-melee in pvp such as a scorpion that can disarm weapons. I still have to get my hunter 2 more levels to 85 but it looks to me that with the macro to auto-intervene self, this is stronger than a warlock/priest bubble absorb?

Presently, while the shield provided by this ability will immediately fade after being a victim of any single target attack, that isn't the case for AoEs, where it'll persist until you've taken a total amount of damage equal to what's stated on the buff it gives, not unlike standard absorb effects such as Power Word: Shield and Ice Barrier.

I doubt it's intentional, but it certainly is helpful for keeping people alive in PvE situations if you're willing to deal with the lower DPS of a tenacity pet.

Due to it absorbing AoE spells, this single talent point has made it possible to solo bosses that were otherwise impossible.

As an extreme solo'er, you'll quickly discover that the ability to solo a boss often comes down to being able to keep *yourself* alive through unavoidable raid damage / AOE effects.

Being able to pop this on every AoE and have the entire effect absorbed is absolutely spectacular. You can mitigate a TON of damage using this ability with proper timing. Similar to how skilled death knights learn to time death strikes properly for maximum mitigation.

Shell shield because if you're using it on the tank or someone else that needs regular intervene's on him.
(for example i use mine on the tank on Madness of Deathwing's corruption Impale) They're taking pretty big hits and the shellshield protects your own pet from dying or taking alot of damage.
Currently, the turtle absorbs about 100k unbuffed.

Imagine you're on a 3v3 team: Hunter/Warrior/Holy Paladin. Your healer gets zerged. However, instead of popping his bubble and wasting his defensive CD, you and the warrior perform the following actions to save your pally (this assumes neither of you are CC'd):

1.) Your warrior goes defensive and intervenes your healer, successfully intercepting two attacks made against him (if glyphed for it).
2.) You use your pet to intervene a third attack made against your healer.
3.) You use Roar of Sacrifice on your healer to make him un-crittable for 12 seconds.

So, working as a team, you can save your healer by successfully intercepting 3 attacks made against him and making him unable to be critted on for 12 seconds. Zerg avoided.

Now there's a number of circumstances that could prohibit this from working. It's just something to consider.
