He is a robed Dranei wandering the roads south and west of Shattrath. Unfortunately, he can cross paths with the Shattrath guards and get killed by them, which I had the misfortune of witnessing.

Has Immolate, Incinerate, Corruption, Fear, Curse of Weakness, Shadow Bolt. All in all a very interesting mob to fight compared to most, and has a very good chance of dropping a blue.

as a 63 paladin i came close to dieing cause he feared me into a warp stalker and a timber worg but i managed to kill them all.

I happened upon this rare on the road in Terokkar at about 68.46 while running for Warp Stalkers to mass grind. He is a warlock class mob and does fear, but is stunnable etc as he is not elite.

Would have been an easy fight as a 66 protection pally had I not had a bunch of adds as well! He went down fairly easily and dropped Grim Slippers of the Eagle.

Never ever let him even get close to Shattrath! If he does it doesn't even matter if you hit him first. The Peacekeepers will do more damage and then you can't loot him.

I just killed this guy on the road west of Tuurem, and the spawn timer is at least 12 hours, which was the time I had camped his spawn points for when I found him.

Judging by his pathing, I'm guessing his initial (re)spawn points are the points farthest from Shattrath along each path. Might help in camping him.

He's the last one I need for Bloody Rare; I'm even thinking of offering a "bounty" for anyone who spots him when I need a break from scouring the paths in Terokkar.

EDIT: Got him late last night right after he spawned at the far end of the southern road, and after nearly falling asleep at the keyboard.

Can anyone confirm the spawn point 54.2, 71.9 (west of Skettis)? I already have Okrek, so I don't wanna go there anymore on my tours, and since it's only one point for a patrolling rare, I assume it's fake/wrongly recorded, like the one at 9.0, 10.0.

I also found him at the fork-in-the-road, where the path from Shadowmoon Valley touches the path leading to Firewing Point.
Only one screenshot actually worked on my choppy computer, and although he's facing east while I'm fighting him, I can't recall which direction he was walking... :'(
Even with a crappy computer, low frames per second, and short visual distance range, he was easy enough to spot. I hope this encourages people with fears that he won't appear in time on your screen as you're flying down the paths in search of him.
Two weeks of shot-gunning his routes, multiple times throughout the day. The odds of finding him alive and untagged are slim, but you'll see him. Like Loque'nahak, he seems to find you instead.

Found him at his northern most path just as he spawned. He spawns near the hellfire/terokkar zone border. Took much longer than a couple of weeks and one instance of me finding him just as he was killed to get him for my meta.

As of 3.2.1, Doomsayer Jurim still getes killed by Shattrath guards, u'd think blizzard would slightly change his pathing so it wouldn't happen.

I figured that my chances for an encounter with this guy, on a random flyby-basis, would be rather slim, so i decided to camp him instead.

While i was reading a book i camped at 50,27 and looked up every now and then to see if he was around. After a few hours, and as I was about to take a break, I saw him walking down along the path from his spawningpoint at Razorthorne Shelf. I quickly intercepted him and got the kill.

This was not only the most challenging, but also the last kill that I needed for my Bloody Rare achievement.

I was doing quests at Cenarion Thicket on my 63 blood dk. I was fighting a teromoth around 44,27 when I started taking more damage for some reason. I turned around and some draenei was attacking me so I abandoned the teromoth and started to kill him. I didnt even notice that he was rare. When I killed him, he gave me the Medium Rare achievement which surprised me. Then, I just finished up with the teromoth and handed in my quest.

At lvl 63 on my dk, he didn't do a lot of damage, just more than a teromoth. He dropped Grim Sabatons of Intellect but being a dk and with intellect meaning nothing to me, I just sold it on the ah for 11 gold.

I saw Doomsayer Jurim spawn approximately 35 minutes past the hour at the Razorthorn Shelf location. I was camping the spot for a few hours and he was headed towards Shattrath, so I know he didn't spawn earlier and just happened to walk in range of me.

A lot of guides suggest that rares spawn near the top of the hour, but that doesn't seem to apply to this one. Another person above found him at 25 minutes past the hour. Since rares spawn a few minutes before and after the hour, then I assume Jurim can spawn at half hour intervals too. That would be why he was found at 25 and 35 minutes past the hour. This means you might want to check his spawn points more often than every hour.

If you're camping him, have hope. I figured I'd leave him until last, and while checking for Marticar, I decided to fly over on a whim. He was maybe 200 yards away from death and my NPCScan went off.

So yeah, whims are good.

I used ESN_Rare found him for me while I was fishing. My 70 Hunter (Oddobon, Sentinels 3.3) and his cat Mauser had him down in seconds. Dropped Grim Boots of the Bandit.
He was at 58.6,33.8 in Terrokar Forest, jauntily walking down the road. He never knew what hit him.
Got the Achievment Medium Rare, which is why I armed myself with ESN_Rare.

I'm not sure about the spawn point, but I was doing the Cenarion Thicket series and after killing Empoor headed back to Earthbinder Tavgren to turn in the quest. Right as I get there Doomsayer comes strolling OUT of the gates that lead to the Cenarion Thicket and aggroes on me. I have no idea how far he goes in, but I definitely saw him coming out of there.

This Rare MOB is probably THE hardest part of the Bloody Rare achievement.

He tends to get killed by the Shattrath Guards every time he paths to them so you have a very short window in which to kill me after he spawns.

NPCScanner and NPCOverlay are your best bet for getting this guy.

Got him @ 5.02 heading east from Tuurem after flying from the east end @ 5.01. It wasn't up when I flew out from Shattrath just before so I think it's fair to say it spawns on the o'clock.

Tip: If you're not a druid or hunter, you may find Blackened Worg Steak helpful in your quest to hunt down the humanoids for the Bloody Rare achievement. Happy hunting! ;-)

I just killed him today with the help of a guild mate. I tried soloing him first and died. When I rez'd, I saw him stopping at the fork in the road just before the east end of the city. Seems they may have fixed his route a bit.

The first rare I ever encountered as a Prot warrior entering Outland. Don't do what I did and attack him with only half health as a 61 warrior, he hits harder than he looks. :P

after reading all the posts i thought this would be a nightmare to kill...and it was. I know someone who spent almost a whole week in Terokkar Forest trying to get this rare. With my kill I got very lucky. I logged out on the road heading towards SMV. I went to do a heroic on a alt, logged back in and the rare was walking straight at me. Was very lucky. Killed and told people in channel 1 about my lucky kill. A few people QQed because they were also after the same kill and had spent weeks trying to get it. So this kill is all about luck. Good luck!

My suggestion is to check at :00 and :30. I only saw him two times (separate days) - at 3:33 server already dead (most likely killed by the guards) and at 6:34. I managed to kill him the second time but it convinced me that he doesn't necessarily always spawn at the top of the hour.

If you are looking for this guy, I'm going to assume you are working on Bloody Rare. If you are dedicated enough to be working on that, then you are probably dedicated enough to work on Hero of Shattrath. If you are Aldor and working on Hero of Shattrath, then farm Dampscale Basilisk Eye and while you are farming them, you are bound to run into this guy. That is how I managed to tag him.

Ok so I made a map >> Here <<

The #'s are his possible spawn points. The crappy looking arrows are which way he pats.

1. Possible spawn point. He pats toward Shatt, where he will get killed by guards.

2. Possible spawn point. He will walk out of Cenarion Thicket, and either go East or West. West he gets killed by guards, East he heads towards Hellfire Peninsula.

3. Possible spawn point. He'll walk out of Tuurem and head towards Shadowmoon Valley.

I've never seen what happens if he gets to the end of the road going to Shadowmoon Valley or Hellfire Peninsula. So I dont know if he turns around, or just vanishes.

Found this guy when he was being attacked by a Shattrath Peacekeeper. They kill him fast! I hurried to damage him before he was dead. I didn't get to loot him, but I did get credit towards the achievement.

I found him walking on the Northernmost path toward Shatt. We had 3 people camping him, 1 for each path. I don't know if the Shatt guards still kill him, I didn't want to take the risk.

this is one of the most unenjoyable things i have ever done in 5+ years of WOW. i spent 9 straight hours on monday night doing laps of terokkar every 30 minutes, he never showed up and servers went down for maintenance. on wednesday night i decided to give it one more go, spent 12 straight hours, this time i never stopped flying around the zone starting from the southwest point where he can spawn up north to the guards then taking the main road (south of cenarion thicket) east to the hellfire entrance and then south east from tuurem to smv, covering every place he can spawn and pat, he didnt show again. i put in a ticket asking if he was bugged and not showing up, Blizzard responded saying he has a spawn timer of 6 to 24 hours. just now i was going to turn in some decks for a friend at the darkmoon faire and my npcscan goes off and sure enough their he is getting killed by guards! i got in the killing blow and finished bloody rare after a hellish week of camping finally getting it with a bit of luck!

edit: the kill happened at about 8:25 server, so don't listen to any of the people that say its on the hour or half-hour he can spawn anytime

This was my last one for Bloody Rare! The best strategy that worked for me was to check for him at random around his walking paths (using NPC Scan and NPC Overlay of course). This kept me from going crazy waiting for him and flying around for hours! This was the most difficult because when he spawns in the two locations heading toward Shattrath he will get killed by the guards, and not patrol back and fourth. However, I believe when he is on the path heading away from from Tuurem he just pats back and forth until a player kills him. So hope he is on that path! That is how I finally found him. I so happy I'm done with this achievement!

Found him as the same time a Shattrath guard started to hammer him down. He was going south from Shattrath city cord 36.6 , 30.4.
Killed him before the guard have done to much dmg at 08:13 servertime (Aggamagan).

Just killed him at coordinates 76.3, 68. He was in combat with the patrolling Shattrath guard and down to 2800 health, dropping fast. I was able to land a killing blow and while I was not able to loot the him, I DID get credit for Bloody Rare achievement.

Finally got this one earlier today. He was on the northern path but interesitngly enough, he was walking towards Hellfire instead of Shat. So maybe he spawns somewhere along the path walking towards Hellfire then pats back to Shat?

This was my last guy for Bloody Rare after managing to find two Zangarmarsh rares in one day. I decided to look up the comments about him again and when I tabbed back to the game, I noticed it was 4:33 game time. Despite the naysayers talking about him not being on the :00 or :30 marks, due to those that said they had found him around then, on a whim I decided to make another fly around his pat areas. Found him at 4:36 game time walking away from Hellfire Penninsula, and having me get my last three rares for the achievement in about 12 hours. Pretty amazing as I was searching for weeks for my very last one for Northern Exposure.

I hope that rare spawn hunters find this information valuable since there is so little of it here and else where.

For the last 12 hours, plus some, I have been camping this particular NPC. I would fly around the 3 major paths every 20 minutes or so. He finally just spawned for me (9:55PM PST) on the Southern path (ie Auchindon to Shatt). He moves are a fairly quick pace, so catching him before he reaches the guards is desired.

A fellow guildie also recently completed his Bloody Rare, and I asked for his experiences with this particular NPC since I was struggling. He said he had found this rare 3 times along the Eastern path (SMV to Tuurem). I didn't find out specifics on which direction the NPC was heading, but I could speculate that on that particular path, the mob will just contentiously pat. This adds a little glimmer of hope for rare hunters since this mob will stay alive a bit longer.

I've been camping the spawn for about three days and I've seen him three times. I had my npc scanner running the first time and was sadly afk and missed the spawn as he was killed by the guards (saw the body, sadface). The second, someone else nabbed it. The third time around I got it at 2:17am when I flew over his exact spawn on the very edge of hellfire, so I can confirm it's not a rounded number based spawn. Judging by the times in which I saw it, I'm guessing he has a relatively short spawn rate; somewhere around 12-24 hours (though I'm not 100% sure). You do have to be attentive as it does take him sub 10 minutes to walk from the furthest point on the northern spawn (between shat and hellfire) and a little shorter on the south eastern route (between shat and auchindoun); both routes he does get killed by the guards. I'm not sure if the mobs at tuurem are hostile toward him or not, so I'm not sure if that's a threatened patrol route. Hope that helps. He's the worst one of the meta. -_-; Good luck!

Iced him at 1:10am server time (Laughing Skull - US) at coords 65.92, 43.25. He was patrolling south along the path near the Bonechewer Ruins at a fairly brisk pace. I had tamed the other rare white non-sabretooth tiger Hawkbane about 10 mins before that in the Skettis area (no longer Elite nor counts towards Bloody Rare).

For some reason, my NPCscan will go off for this rare, yet I cannot find him nor is his body viewable anywhere.. It's happened several times (not just once), and I've even had hunter tracking on to try and find him with no luck. Strange.

Both times I seen him were on the road from Shatt to Hellfire. I've been farming the Grim Sabatons (plate boots) for my pally's transmog.. all I've been getting is cloth drops :(

Flying from Dark Portal to Allerian to do the Skyguard dailies, SilverDragon popped this guy as I was over Tuurem. Hadn't ever heard of him... flew back on my own and couldn't find him at Tuurem, so came here to look. Flew along his path, Tuurem to SMV, no luck. But on the way back, spamming a /target there he is, sauntering along. Bang! says my hunter. Dropped Grim Boots of Nimbleness -- apparently he's the only source of the Grim Boots.

Too bad I'm way overlevel (and not using leather, besides).

Wonder what I can get for them in trade chat...

(ETA: Looking at the screenshots, he looks seriously annoyed. I'd be, also, if I had to carry a large skull on each shoulder. He needs to suck on fewer lemons...)

This is the only rare mob I've encountered in Outlands so far. I saw him right after leaving Shattrath walking along the road. He's got some fairly nasty warlockish type spells, but still easy enough.

I saw him walking on the road that leads from Shadowmon Valley to Tuurem, and since he was first rare mob i've seen in Outland i jumped on him but i was killed first time because he has 2 schools of magic: Fire and Shadow so he feared me too and not only he has fear, he has shadow bolt and incinerate that hit very bad, so i used pummel whenever i could and waited for corruption to end so i can do intimidating shout and use bandage, he died when i was at 8%, he droped blue leather boots with +40 strength :)

I was turning in a quest at the Cenarion Thicket when he started attacking me. I quickly switched to Dire Bear and stunned him, then healed. Repeated for about 5min until I downed him. He dropped the Grim Sabatons for me.

I had just talked to the guy with the bodygaurd (can't remember his name) and was on my way back to Shatt when I stumbled across him near the Cenarion Thicket. So I hopped off the mount, cat form, stealth, pounce, etc. I wasn't watching my health the first time until it was too late. Tried to get a heal off but he feared me in the middle of it and the curse did the rest. Fortunately no one was around so I was able to rez, heal/buff up and then give it another go. Second time went a lot smoother. He dropped Grim Slippers of Arcane Wrath (+45 Arcane Spell damage).

Try to keep him stunned as much as possible so he doesn't get many fears off (Maim + quick heal ftw). And obviously, take him in the right area so you're not feared into the worgs and vicious terramoths in the area.

I solod him pretty easily as a lvl 63 mage. Just put on fireward and he can only use 1 school of magic against you, shadow. He took me down to about 40% health by the time i finished him.

Easy kill witha blue drop.

Now what class wears leather that needs intellect?

I found "Grim Greaves of the Elder" on him in front of the shadow council village in Terokkar.

360 armor
+31 stamina
+21 intellect
+8 mana per 5 seconds

He was easy to take down as I was a 69 warlock.

I was sitting AFK at 35,36 when I heard something attacking me so I went to go see what it was. I was expecting a wolf or something but I find this guy instead. I quickly healed myself and starting fighting him. Not too difficult for a 65 resto druid, but not a pushover either. Took a while to take him down, but I got a nice blue drop when I did:

I killed him just outside Shattrath near the Cenarion Thicket (46, 27). He's pretty easy to kill for anyone of his level or higher. If you have abilities to prevent/interrupt his casts he'll be a cake walk. Definitely soloable. For me he dropped the slippers (+26 int., +26 spirit).

This rare mob attacked me by surprise with a shadow bolt on the road between Tuurem and Cenarion Thicket.

As a warlock, I feared him, dotted him, raised shadow ward, ran a bit after him, threw a shadow bolt at him, he replied with a second bolt which was absorbed, and and he died of my dots.

He dropped Grim Slippers of the Owl (86 armor, 26 intel, 26 spirit).

Dropped Grim Sabatons of the Beast...made a DPS warrior very happy with that! Sold it for 50 g.

I saw the silver dragon around him and got greedy, then realized he really WAS an elite, but shield bashed him into submission quickly enough and popped a healing pot and a felbloom when things got hairy. Probably need to be 64 to solo but he's a treat to kill, get a friend if at all possible.

Punk jumped my priest as I was riding out from shatt, I hit SW:Pain, feared him, VT, then mana burned him, bubbled, manna burned him till he stopped running mind blast and SW:Death. He dropped the leather boots with +88 Healing.

They must have changed him back to elite because when I found came across him, he downed me in about 20 sec. lvl 62 hunter. but I did manage to see a lvl 64 hunter take him rather quickly.

For 63 lvl war its pretty hard. He has some magic spells that will drain your hp. He walks the road from Shattrath to the east sometimes. I needed some help to take him out. He dropped Grim Greevs of Tiger for me - mail boots.

surprised the hell out of me when running from hellfire to shatt to make a bank run. I was messing around having just learned to fly doing low buzzes and other stupid crap when he hit me with a spell. I pulled up to get out of his range and noticed the silver dragon I spun around and landed in front of him. my pet did most of the work but he was easy to kill for a 61 hunter. did not know killing him would get me an achievement surprised my whole noob guild with that one. he feared my pet twice in there but pet kept threat and I never got touched. he dropped the sabatons sold for 15 gold but that is what I asked for ant to good a pricing yet. he was right in front of the gates to shatt so I thought hey he will be an easy mark for good loot but I am now level 70 and he ant been back at any time of day to that spot since about a week. I camp it for an hour at a time different times every chance I get and I can't get a decent mark on his movement.

65 Shadow Priest

He caught me chatting while stopped on the road...took me by surprise and made quick work of me with his Warlocky type spells. He has about 9000 HP and 14,000 Mana.

I rezzed, buffed up and went back for revenge. No problem this time. I silenced him on his first cast, which made him a little edgy. When he was down to about 40% I feared him on another spell cast. He died a screaming death.

I then pulled the Grim Slippers of Arcane Wrath (+47 Arcane Damage) off his smelly feet. Now why couldn't he have put on some differnt boots that morning. I must ask his wife to lay out the Invoker boots next time.

I ran into him while rushing back to Shatt for a server shutdown. Ran right by him, thinking he was some random NPC. To my surprise, he hit me with some spell as I boogied past him. I quickly realized that he was a rare spawn, and took him down with 10 sec till server shutdown. Easy solo as a 69 Disc/shadow Priest. Dropped the Slippers of Stam for me.

I can imagine how pissed I would have been if the server had of shut down before i had a chance to loot.

I met him just outside the bridge to Shattrah, being finished by mounted guard... I didnt do enough dmg to loot though :(

I found him along the road leaving Tuurem, I was had just killing some lost ones so I was low on hp and mana. I thought someone would take him if I stopped and rested so I faught him wit like 3k hp and 2.5k mana, it took all that too just get him too half he killed me. Hes just like a lock shadow bolts etc. I came back ate and drank and killed em but he dropped some cloth boots but I dont see em up there on his loot table.

I was running to Mana Tombs and it was on tha road walking to shatt didnt notice he was a rare spawn till I killed him and got tha Grim boots of the Bandit.

Killed him last night and got Grim sabotuns of the Elder. they are at AH for 35G buyout(hydraxis server) alliance. Tough fight for a 64 warrior. Soloed him and then died from his Dot's. Though i was smiling on the way back knowing i just made myself 20-50G.

found him at level 60 ( hunter)
when i was running to shattrath
i attacked him and he killed me
then i went back right after and destroyed him
didnt know he was a rare spawn though :)

This guy caught me crossing the road on my way back from firewing point. I was at about 2k hp and 500 mana on my 63 pally (ya, shoulda known better but I had to log and the stronghold wasnt too far...) when I bumbled into him. I saw him start to channel when I crested the hill, and was about to just keep going until I saw the silver dragon. Wasnt really ready 2 fight (blessing had expired, crusader aura, etc...) but I lucked up and a 70 rogue happens along and helps me finish him off. Thanks for the greaves Jurim!
