Elder Yurauk in the Halls of Stone - Crystalline Quarry on way to Krystallus.
Elder Igasho in The Nexus - Right before Omorok the Tree-Shaper.
Elder Ohanzee in Gundrak - Eck's room. Heroic only.
Elder Kilias in Drak'Theron - King Dred's pen.
Elder Nurgen in Azjol-Nerub - Past Hadronox, fall down hole and he's by the water. Have to kill first 2 bosses.
Elder Jarten in Utgarde Keep - Past first boss, in a collapsed tunnel in the first room you see Ironhelms and Runecasters.
Elder Chogan'gada in Utgarde Pinnacle - Room after Skadi, under stairs. You will need a group to get past gauntlet.

With Eck's room (Gundrak) being opened in heroic only, this makes the meta achievement only possible at level 80. All others are possible in normal dungeon mode.

Just a small note on Elder Nurgen in Azjol-Nerub

Elder Nurgen in Azjol-Nerub - Past Hadronox, fall down hole and he's by the water. Have to kill first 2 bosses.

My group was able to reach this elder only killing the first boss. When we reached the second boss we managed to run past him and head strait for the hole. The boss reset when we landed at the bottom. Afterwards, you could hearth out or, as we did, have a mage in the group to make a portal.

Hope this was usefull info.

: it may be worth noting we were all lvl 80. The mobs between the hole and the 2nd boss will net anyone running away, have your tank go first but jump into the hole last because they will drop aggro from anyone that jumps in the hole. Good luck on your achievements!

Was just curious if anyone else has experienced this issue. During the 2009 Lunar festival, i completed all the dungeon elders except for the one in HoS. I just ran out of time.

This passed weekend I was looking through my achievements and it is showing that I have not completed any of the dungeon elders. I have never known achievement progress to reset like that.

So has anyone else had this happen and is there anything that can be done? With my limited play time, i dont really want to have to go thru all those dungeons again.

this happened to me as well. i had a couple elders left in the dungeons and the whole thing got wiped. my other elder visits are still completed, but the dungeon got reset. i really dont want to do the whole dungeon elders all over again either.

Go to your raid lockouts in the raid panel on your Social Button...You can reactivate your HEROIC instances you have cleared...be warned this a heroic so the dmg is intense..This is why if you can stealth and such you can do fine...All those stupid gates in AZ and UP will be gone and Eck with be open in Gundrak..But theres mobs so you need to stay away..This helped me(hunter) was quite easy.

What I am now experiencing, is one of the most infuriating things ever. You people, lvl 80's, who join low-level Northrend instances...

DO NOT LEAVE THE SECOND YOU GET THE ELDER!

During these few days, I've had at least 10 healers/tanks joining, then leaving immediatly after they've gotten the Elder. It's unfair, you waste other people's time and nerves by joining in, running to the first boss, then leaving after you get the damn elder, so the group has to get a new tank/dps/healer to replace you. It's just inconsiderate, unfair, and shows clear lack of manners and etiquette.

Northrend dungeon elders are easily soloable at 85. In UP you have to kill Skadi, and in AN you have to kill Krik'thir then run through Hadronox, but everything else is pretty trivial.

I was a shadow priest in a fair amount of epics, but I'm pretty sure anyone with the gear necessary to queue for a Cata heroic can handle this. Just make sure you have dungeon difficulty set to normal, though it's probably doable on Heroic as well.

I had this down to 4 elders needed for this cheev and I woulda had What A Long Strange Trip Its Been! and it seems when Cata popped, they reset my progress on this achievement. Remember, Lunar Festival end Sunday MORNING, NOT @ Midnight server time like most holidays. Good luck and hope this info helps.

Using Amok's guide to Elder locations, this is easily solo'd at 85. (I did it as demo lock.)
You can sneak pass most of the trash in Nexus (except for the little guys who only have about 3k life.)
Kill the first boss in AN, and sneak pass the rest.
Kill first boss in DTK, sneak pass all the ones up to Elder, then just turn around and leave out the entrance.
You can sneak pass the first two bosses in GD if you're careful enough, snag the Elder, and leave out the entrance.
You will have to kill lots of trash in HoS, considering the mobs are still green to an 85. The Elder is before any bosses.
You will have to kill trash in UP, and the harpoon boss as well. UP trash is also green to an 85.
UK is easy. A few trash pulls and skip the boss.

At level 85 this achievement can be soloed by anyone with decent skill, just did it on my druid with very little stealthing action.

Thank you for this info. I made a few Elixirs of Dream Vision for explore first where the Elders are. After that, for passing a few mobs, i use Invisibility Potions. Very easy. :)

Update for cata so far....

Stratholme: You can no longer get to him by using the service entrance. It seems that blizz has made either side it's own instance and the link between the two is now longer available. I cleared the entire gauntlet side looking for him, killed rivendere for the hell of it and possible mount just to find out that the gate to the other side no longer works. USE THE MAIN ENTRANCE, otherwise, he's in the same place, just go right from there and he's too the left as you come around the bend.

85 prot warrior with no problems at all. I can't stealth, fd or anything - just a hunk of trash metal running around dragging my knuckles with my NOT leet dps. I can see where a clothy might have a problem with Skadi but, other than that - should be pretty easy for any 85. I didn't hit a single mob after the first boss in AN - just ran until I found the hole, fell down, got the achieve and ran out with third boss in tow.

Confirmed today that Elder Ohanzee (Elder Ohanzee) in Gundrak does NOT have to be on heroic mode. Soloed easily at 85, found directly behind Drakari Colossus (second boss).

FYI - pace yourself if you plan on grinding this achievement out all at once. There comes a point where you can't go into an instance and will get the message saying: "You have entered too many instances recently." You'll have to wait anyway if you go too fast.

You might wanna put your HS up somewhere outside the instance, unless you can either sneak by or solo the last boss, or don't mind hs'ing to somewhere else. This one is a little tricky, you have to slay first boss, no problem for a level 85' and you can sneak by Hadronox and jump down the hole, no problem for a mage. Nurgen will be located to your left if you are in the water and look towards the door to the next boss. Render invisible and run by Anub'arak.

Do the dungeon as normal, you can skip/sneak by any of the bosses up until Skadi the Ruthless. You have to kill him, else the next door wont open. Next room jump through the hole in the stairs (you see the glow in front of you by the Scourge Hulk) and he will in front of you in a "cellar"-ish place.

Elder Kilias: - Drak'Tharon Keep

Run right up the stairs, you won't be attacked by the fleeing mobs, when you reach the Meeting Stone, turn left!
Inside, 85's can easily run by most groups, and you can skip 2nd boss by wall-hugging. Elder will be by the Dino Boss, King Dred. (Ninf)

In 3.3.2 Blizz moved him near Drakkari Colossus boss! No more in eck room. So you don't need to do it on Hc (matzos)
- You can skip everything up to the Elder. He's standing behind the Boss, I managed to get in and out without taking aggro from a single mob, using blink and invisible twice.

Walk into instance and go straight ahead to the circular room. Turn right up the stairs. Then take your next right (by the elementals). Follow the path down past the channelers and more elementals till you see the elder. (backdoc77)

I found that any achieve that I had not completed had reset. The Elders were gone regardless of how many I had left.

As an 85 shadowpriest, I was able to solo Nexus mostly by sneaking around mobs. Go to the right when you enter the instance, sneak past the pats, kill a few patrols that find you, and get your Elder Igasho on your own. GL.

The Elder for the Lunar festival is in the recess just to the left of the entrance when you walk in.

Would have been nice if they had a sign out front saying they moved the entrance though... and don't know why they left all the rest of the place there so you run around where the entrance used to be going "?".

Last year, all my uncompleted Lunar Festival achievements reset if they were not completed; honored elders did not carry over. Anyone know if that wil happen this year? If so, there is no reason to start (and finish!) this achievement prior to attaining 77th level.

Easily soloed all of these today as a Prot Paladin ilvl 390. I don't think I went under 50% health even with huge pulls. You can skip a ton of content hugging walls. Good luck!

I'd just like to say that I ran this as an 85 Ret pally in 378 gear. I found it fairly easy and made decently large pulls. About 4 dungeons into the Northrend set I noticed I had been doing everything on Heroic -__- switched down for UK and UP and burned through them. No 85 should have any problem with this.

tl;dr: Check your dungeon difficulty.

So encountering this was challenging at lvl 85 there have been some wrong areas and some correct. I came to look for Elder Splitrock, in Maraudon. Upon looking at one of the maps it gave the incorrect map. https://www.wowhead.com/cata/maps?data=2100:505900 the correct map is as follows https://www.wowhead.com/cata/maps?data=2100.1:515918516918 please make sure that you are using the correct map when posting. If you haven't done the quest for the princess it will pop up. Easiest route to the Elder is to her. Jump in the water and follow the trail up and you will be dead on, on the Elder.

Utgarde Pinnacle is definitely recommended as a group. However it is possible to solo. Soloed today on my lvl 85 Ret Paladin. First boss is only hard because she traps and attacks you for a period of time (dropping your health) but you will be let go at some point (if you have enough health to live through it).

No. You can walk right past this boss, no need to even kill it. Same with the next one. The only boss you HAVE to kill in order to get to the elder is Skadi, otherwise the gate doesn't open.

As a level 85 arcane mage I managed to solo Skadi. I died once but finally made it -- so it is possible to solo ALL dungeon elders if equipped properly. Good luck!

I worked on this over the last couple of days... I decided to full clear all of the dungeons and ended up netting nearly 4k gold in various drops. Definitely worth while for me. The WotLK dungeons on heroic mode dropped quite a bit of frostweave and the boe greens were sent off to my enchanter to be disenchanted.

Anyone having issues with the Nexus and Halls of Stone? I keep getting the message that I have to be in a raid to enter the instance. This is really frustrating - I'm not qualified to use the raid finder and I'm outgeared to use the dungeon finder for these instances. Already tried resetting all instances, dungeon settings are at normal. Any ideas?

For WotLK Classic: Elder Ohanzee is no longer in Ekk's room. With patch 3.3.2 he was moved to behind the Colossus; as WotLK Classic is running on the latest build, he has been moved from Ekk's room. This is soloable by any stealth class.
