Found this chest while exploring Burning Steppes after the shattering. We were around the Altar of Storms when we found it. My friend opens it and to both of our surprise it held an Orb of Deception. Nothing else. Luckily, he already had one and passed it to me. Neither of us could really believe it. I regret not taking a screenshot of it before it despawned, as this chest doesn't seem to have any information on it thus far, except from what my friend and I found.

I have seen this chest twice now, also just since The Shattering. Both of them were found in Un'Goro crater. One was nearby the insect colonies and the other was in the gorilla cave. On my 72 Death Knight, opening the chests rewarded me with blue-quality items and 1900 exp.

Found one in the Temple of Atal'Hakkar (outside the instance). Rewarded me with 7600 exp (at level 54) 35 silver, an Eye of Adaegus and a Star Ruby

I found one of these in the Red Reaches in the Blasted Lands. It contained a bit of silver and a Torch of Austen (rare wand with fire resist).

Replaces https://www.wowhead.com/cata/object=207484#comments in more desolate zones, and serves the same purpose. Replaced with https://www.wowhead.com/cata/object=207496#comments in parts of zones occupied primarily by Dark Iron Dwarves.

It seems every chest contains at least 1 blue item. I got Petrified Camel Haunch out of one. The chests should give a nice income when farming other stuff. Just make sure you have an addon pointing on the location of these chests, or be a d0rf.

Found one of these just now. It was in Twilight Highlands on the path right by the Wetlands where all those Twilight's Hammer Horses are running around in the fire. Found a Ravenheart Longbow. Pretty nice.

Note: Not sure if this determines anything or not for that one area, but I haven't done any quests in Twilight Highlands on the character I found it on--meaning I hadn't phased yet.

Found one inside the Chamber of the Stars in Uldum - it had a Robes of Whispering Sands and 121,000 XP in it...

Looks like you get XP equivalent to the area you find it in - lots of XP if you get one in a high-level area!

As I started doing my first quests in Uldum, I came across one of these chests next to where Kavem The Callous stands, just inside the little building to his right. Inside I looted some gold along with a Thousand Bandage Drape.

Check the area up and behind Deathclasp in Silithus, there's often a chest there.

Found 2 today alone, one in Lost City of the Tol'vir where you quest at when you get "captured" by the Pigmies. Contained Zulian Swirling Shield, pretty rare drop from what wowhead says. The other I found at The Pit of Scales where you have to "Free" Tahet from his bindings by killing an elite by making him walk over the eggs so the baby crocolisks can kill him. That one dropped Woundsealer Spaulders. Each gave roughly 1g.

I found one today in Twilight Highlands, near the tentacles and the earthen ring people there are mobs you have to kill. in that area.

It appears that these types of chests share a global cooldown for looting. I haven't timed my experience yet but soon after opening a chest, I found another one but wasn't able to interact with it. Later on I found another chest and still couldn't open it.

Here is a guide on how to get this:

1: Get Gathermate2 and Gathermate2_Data from curse.com wow addons. ( Import the data from your gathermate console ingame and make sure you filter to only see SIilken Treasure and Sturdy Treasure Chests.
2. Make your map big.
3. Take the portal to Uldum. Fly to Silithus and check all the chests there. Then fly to Un'Guru Crater just next to Silithus and fly through all the Gathermate chest spots. You will atleast now have looted 2-6 Treasure chests as there can be a maximum of 3 per zone and they have a 24 hour respawn.
4.Hearth to your city and take the portal to Blasted lands. Check all the chests there and remember always go inside the caves and check the spots.
5.Fly to Swamp of sorrows just above blasted lands and check the 4 spots there aswell. Now fly north to Burning Steppes( I got 2 orbs here personally). This is a good place and the orb has a higher chance to get looted here as the level of the zone matches the orb well.
6. Lastly , Go to Winterspring and check all the chests there.

By going through all of this 6 zones you might get your Orb . If not try again in 25 hours.

You will atleast loot 6+ chests in all 6 zones if not alot more on lower population servers. Remember to go to Burning Steppes always because the chance is higher in there. Do not be fooled by the 0.9 % drop rate as there are alot of items that gets randomed from the chests and the orb is one of them so the chances are not that bad it is more about luck. 12 zones for me was 2 orbs. Good Luck. Do not give up. You wont get the orb from any other zone not listen above.

with mysterious camel figurines and these chest, I made a route so I could follow them, after looking at the map for a little bit, I see a turtle made between them all! also a turtle can be caught using the fishing profession in Uldum! coincidence?
