Getting into Gnomeregan is easy because the outside is filled with Leper Gnomes. (Level 9-10.) This instance is for level 28-35. In the middle of the instance there is the "Clean Zone" you can repair weapons and armor from here. (You can even see if you have mail!) Once you get to the final boss he is in this huge machine. Once you defeat him he drops all blues with a nice Axe and Hammer.

It's nearly impossible to find a group for Gnomeregan if you're horde. You'd better hope you've got a high level rogue to run you through the back door.

I am an engineer with a gnomish universal remote and it is worht mentioning. Take control of bosses while either enemy NPCs attack them(It's fun to do and works) or let your party attack them.

Another thing for rogues& druids, I'm a druid, and one thing that is nice to do since it's so long of an instance is to make yourself a party/raid of druids and rogues only and roll for the boss loot. It is not of course the thing to do if you are powerlvling and is hardly worth doing if you have a high-lvl, but it works great if you're after loot such as the key and don't want to be bothered with everything in between.

I love this instance personally most people say they hate it and its to long but with a good grp I usually finish it in 1-2 hrs and not to metion there are many good drops for every class the only thing I don't like about it is the alarms they make the instance 2 times harder.

The triprunner pants are totally worth the effort for most hunters and rogues/druids.

This instance sucks. It's one of the worst in WoW. Nothin' but a damn, annoying, long maze of stressful crap. If you have the chance to get into this instance with a GREAT group, then I definitely recommend doing so bcus of the few decent drops, RIG WARS reward, and a huge amount of EXP. Just think long about your decision with going into this dung pile. It just seems that everytime I did this on the tons of characters of mine, the group members just started pulling eachother apart once someone died, or if we got lost and stuff. I dunno, just something about this whack instance. Good Luck though, and hopefully it doesn't happen to your group.

Also, everyone in the instance group doesn't necessarily need the goblin transporter item to go into Gnomer. Only 2 people, atleast, need it so they can enter Gnomer and go to the outside summoning stone and summon every1 else. From inside Gnomer, when u use the goblin transporter, just go to your right and follow it outside and you'll reach the summoning stone, piece of cake to do this since patch 2.3!!! Watch out for ally, though, bcus they can attack you inside of Gnomer before you actually enter the instance portal (if playing on a PvP realm).

If you have a high level running through this make sure the take a cure Disease postion or similar

Ok, well, i'm not sure if this is a glitch or if it set up this way, but I have found(for alliance) that if you're in the clean room and you pull something in there and stand by the priests while fighting they give you a stamina buff (Power Word: Fortitude) for 22extra stamina.

From the punchographs, all you engineers can get the schematics for Discombobulator Ray and I'm pretty sure I was able to get the Recombulator Ray from one of them.

Would it be possible to do large pulls in here? From what I've experienced is that some mobs (mostly the mobs at the start of the instance) will just reset aggro when you get too far.

2 Manable at level 35 just did it with a Resto Shammy (me) and my friend a Sub Rogue. Few deaths and when we did die we could self rez/vanish and rez the other person. Worth noting that https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=7506 is very handy.

Just solo'd it as a 31 hunter, took 2/3 hours and died 10+ times before i got the hang of it, but its actually pretty easy. You get feign death at level 30 so you can snipe off non elites 1 at a time, and your pet can tank any elite or boss np. Theres also alot of evade spots. Also, you can skip almost the entire last tunnel before the final chamber, if you run along the wall on the right. thats where the rare spawns as well. For the final boss just pull him back, let your pet tank and snipe the bombs as they come.

Soloing instances is pretty fun, i remember ST was easy as a mage with imp blizzard, but the bosses were to much.

I typed this up on a corpse run just before the final guy, and i wasn't in fact able to kill him, i had massive threat problems from mend pet alone, dunno if my owl was best suited. Also a beastmastery spec would be supperior so perhaps with that you could manage.

A few days ago I did a solo run and encountered a bug concerning the entrance elevator: when it reaches the bottom it disappears then reappears when it goes back up.

To make matters worse you can't step back on the elevator, it will go through you and leave you at the bottom. I was still able to get a ride by continuously jumping on the spot as apparently the elevator spawns a feet or-so above the ground.

I made a ticket about this and got a reply it's a known bug.

Something really funny to do in this instance is to enter by the workshop and stealth to the last boss (if you can), or just kill the least mobs possible if you're a class who can't stealth. Then you aggro one guy in the tunnel near the boss and run back to the beginning of the instance, and you're gonna have a legion of guys coming behind you a few moments later... perfect if u wanna power level some1 or just have fun lol. I did it with fan of knives on my rogue.

Gnomeregan has a few static rare zone-drops. This is a list of all of them. (in no special order)

Gizmotron Megachopper
Oscillating Power Hammer
Supercharger Battle Axe
Hi-tech Supergun
Caverndeep Trudgers
Vibroblade
Petrolspill Leggings
Hotshot Pilot's Gloves
Mechbuilder's Overalls

All of these items are rare and have a small chance of dropping from any mob in Gnomeregan.

You can enter Gnomeregan as a horde easily by taking the quest "Chief Engineer Scooty" from Orgrimmar, then fly to Ratchet -> take the ship to Booty Bay -> complete quest -> wait a second -> jump to the teleport machine. QUEST REMOVED.

I just tried to solo this as a 40 Hunter and it went well.. up until the final door.

The mobs are no problem alone or in small groups. The problem is that Gnomer often doesn't HAVE small groups. Once you get deep into the area you'll encounter one or two elites paired with maybe four or five regular mobs.

Even at 40, having five or so of these little guys pound on you all at once really adds up and it can be hard to control so many foes. Trying to keep aggro on your pet can be rough since you'll need to cast Mend Pet at times and that will usually pull mobs to you.

Where I died was RIGHT outside the last boss door. When you open it there will be four to six regular gnomes (can't remember exactly how many) and two elites. One of them is one of those little Mechanostrider-bots, and the other is one of the anti-magic robots.

So, I'd advise against soloing this at that level. At least bring one partner, get all the quests you can, do this thing and then never ever look back.

....Although it would be really nice to see some 80's running people through this! Friends don't let friends run Gnomeregan.

This instance is kinda stupid. Not because its long. Not because theres loads of mobs. Its because a city is ruled by a lvl 36 elite mob and even thought gnomes have loads of high lvls they cant take it back

this was really fun.

My 80 guildie and my 75 pally ran a couple low levels through this dungeon as a guild run (I just wanted to explore Dun Morogh and get the achieve, missed it while leveling) (She was guarding the lowbies so I could kill freely :P also needed achieve)

The lower levels we're all :O as I did most of the killing.

Fun, but very, very, very easy to get lost in.

I can imagine an on-level party having some difficulty with the sheer number of mobs and their proximity to each other, even my health was dropping with some of the mobs. (not super noticible, but enough to make me stop and finish what I had before moving on to the next grouping)
Words of wisdom:
Don't get lost, don't fall from high places onto bosses (I did, but having half health doesn't slow a 75 down in a low level dungeon much, it does however wipe an on-level party), and keep an eye on the map and try and recall where you've been. You know, the usual.

To that end, we are introducing a new quest line and event by which players can take part in taking the first steps to do just that by recapturing Gnomeregan’s surface and reclaiming a small portion of their former home. Once this area has been reclaimed, all new gnomes will start in this reclaimed territory."

Did some testing. Out of 20 Gnomeregan runs via LFG tool only 3 made it to the last boss without tank or healer leaving. On the other hand in other level <-50 dungeons about 97% of groups made it to the last boss. :) Interesting.

Post cataclysm the entrance to Gnomeregan is guarded by lvl 90's. Found if you dive bomb in on your flying mount the guards lose interest quick and leave you alone, to go down the elevator.

There is a teleporter now from Grom'gol. Go ahead and go to the Grom'gol Base Camp in Stranglethorn and it's west inside the fence. Very helpful for running lowbies through. Takes you directly to the Clockwerk Run, and you avoid all guards.

Since the shattering of Azeroth, the teleport in booty bay is no longer there. BUT... If you go to Grom'gol Base Camp there is a teleport directly outside of the inn.

As a member of the horde, its definitely easier using the teleport from Grom'gol Base Camp.
Even tho a lot of people, myself included, like to do things the fun way.
But I can tell you from experience that trying to get there manually is almost impossible without a death or two.

Im a rogue and the first thing I did when I got there was land on the mountain next to the entrance and go into stealth.
Right at the entrance there are four level 90 elites with 265k health and truesight.
There are also two level 85 elite pats with 1937k health that walk around New Tinkertown and make their way up to the entrance of the instance.
These guards do not have truesight.
For those of you who dont know what truesight is, it allows them to see through stealth and this is indicated by the "eye" you see above their head while stealthed. Just because they have their back turned doesnt mean they cant see you. LoS doesnt matter with these guards and their truesight actually attracts them to you.
As far as distracting goes, unless you have it glyphed, you cant do it.
If you dont have it glyphed, as soon as you get in range of being able to distract all four of the guards to make them turn around, the one closest to you will see you and shoot you,
If you have it glyphed, you can make them turn around safely but most of the time you will see "miss" on one of them.
Even on the times you successfully distract them all, their truesight attracts them to you so you wont make it.
Bottom line, you cannot stealth into the entrance.

I also tried flying directly into the entrance which resulted in my demise.

All in all, there are only two ways to get into Gnomeregan now,
Flying in the entrance then rez'ing inside and teleporting from Grom'gol.

Yeah, it would have been easy....flew in on my "rocket" with my level 85 undead demon warlock and about half way to the elevator I was shot out of the sky by the level 90 elite guard and fell instantly dead onto the floor. Fortunately, I used my soul stone and rezzed when I saw the elevator just reach the top waiting for me to run for it. Made it easily after that. So the moral of the story is....better to take the teleporter in Grom'gol, or at the least have a loc put a soul stone on ya before you fly in.

For veteran Horde engineers interested in getting the Schematic: Pet Bombling and Schematic: Lil' Smoky, who missed the dungeon while leveling, visit Scooty at the Grom'Gol base came to teleport in. If you're Alliance, well, adapt this guide as needed.

At the entrance to the Hall of Gears, grab the parachute from the chest and jump down to the lower level using the chute. Take the western exit, and follow it down to the Launch Bay. On the upper level and lower level there should be a total of four Peacekeeper Security Suits. Kill the two on the upper level first, and then jump down, using the pillars and room edges, to kill the two on the lower level. One of the Peacekeeper Security Suits on the lower level may be in the SE hallway towards the Engineering Labs. If it helps, the Schematic: Lil' Smoky drops from mechanicals that LOOK just like Lil' Smoky.

After killing these four, take the south hall way out of the Launch Bay towards the Tinker's Court. The number of Arcane Nullifier X-21s varies in this hallway. They can spawn on the upper left-hand ramp and the lower center ramp; I've seen between four and six Arcane Nullifier X-21s when I did this. I suggest taking the upper left-hand ramp until you reach the the small hallway that leads to the Engineering Labs. Then double back and move down the center ramp center ramp and work your way towards the Tinker's Court. Again, you only need to worry about groups that have Arcane Nullifier X-21s in them. Skip any that don't.

Once you reach the Tinker's Court, kill Mekgineer Thermaplugg, who frequently drops Schematic: Pet Bombling. If you already have the recipe, don't bother with this final boss.

Then, from the entrance of the Tinker's Court, run back up the (now) upper right-hand ramp back towards hallway towards the Launch Bay and the small hallway that leads to the Engineering Labs, killing the remaining Arcane Nullifier X-21s as you go. Before reaching the Launch Bay take the small path towards the Engineering Labs.

Once in the labs, take the elevator to the upper level located on the NE corner. On the upper level of the Engineering Labs, follow the walkway to the right until you reach the boss, the Crowd Pummeler 9-60. Although he has a smaller chance of dropping Schematic: Lil' Smoky, it turns out that it's easier to go through the Engineering Labs to exit the instance anyway, so you might as well.

After killing the Crowd Pummeler 9-60, exit the Engineering Lab using the NE hallway on the second level, and follow it until you reach the instance exit. If you did not get your recipes, reset the instance and repeat. It should only take you two or three runs to get both schematics.

Alright, I have been through this dungeon enough now on alts to know just how annoying it can be if you’re partying with a bunch of noobs (no offense, noobs) or if you are a noob. As such, I just wanted to go over a couple of things to make your lives a little easier and relieve some stress. These are very important points that anyone going into this dungeon should be aware of. (Please note, none of this information has to do with fighting bosses.)

If it’s your first time entering Gnomeregan, you’ll receive a quest in the beginning (The G-Team), for which you’ll be given a parachute. If you have already completed this quest though, you won’t be given a parachute and will have to retrieve it yourself. Don’t worry! It’s not far. Please be advised: Everyone should take a parachute to navigate this dungeon effectively!

To get a parachute, look for a box not far from where you first arrive at the dungeon. It’s out on the ledge overlooking the area you need to jump down. (Here’s a screenshot of it: Gnomeregan#screenshots:id=253302) If your team doesn’t approach the box to get parachutes of their own, it’s not a bad idea to ask and make sure everyone has one.

Next, jump down and try landing on the big gear sticking out of the floor, since you’ll be safe from any aggro up there. This is where things get irritating.

Around the time you and your team approach the Vicious Fallout water elemental, you might find yourselves caught unawares and being attacked by what seems to be an army of Caverndeep Ambushers, mobs that spawn frequently in the first part of the instance and which run around together at a fast pace. They aren’t elites, and they can be taken down…if people work together. Normally though, this is when people start freaking out at attacking one another, asking who pulled and who aggroed everything.

Listen up – it’s no one’s fault. No one got aggro, and no one pulled them to you. They spawned and came out of nowhere; that’s why they call them Ambushers. Stop wasting valuable time arguing about who’s fault it is, when clearly it’s no ones, and start working as a team to take them out. Get some crowd control. Use some AOEs. They can be killed, so long as people realize this is a normal occurrence and is meant to take you off guard. (Hunters: Be aware! I’ve seen many hunters get blamed, including myself on my Hunter toon, for their pets aggroing this mob. You can try arguing that your pet isn’t to blame, but normally it’s not worth it. Just hope that you don’t get kicked for something that isn’t your fault!)

Finally, in regards to parachutes – once you use yours at the beginning of the dungeon, you’ll find it is no longer in your inventory. Once you defeat the Electricutionar 6000 (the crazy green guy in a spider machine), there’s another box on the ground with parachutes in it right where you were fighting the boss. Everyone should loot this box to pick up another parachute so you can jump off the ledge there safely.

It’s these simple things that make a world of difference, and I hope that by reading this it may help some people out there. Play smart, play safe, and work together as a team.

Tbh, I think this dungeon has some of the coolest loot for it's level. There's a lot of weapons with a proc and some useable effects too. Examples:

Vibroblade
Supercharger Battle Axe
Thermaplugg's Central Core
Manual Crowd Pummeler (The on-use for this one takes you over 160% haste at level 24 or 100% at level 34, which is freaking amazing, even if it is on an hour long cooldown)
Electromagnetic Gigaflux Reactivator
Electrocutioner Leg
Toxic Revenger
Hydrocane (Sometimes useful even at level cap)

I've got a level 85 Engineer who needs a couple of patterns dropped by Mechingeer Thermaplugg, namely the Flash Bomb, Discombobulator Ray, and Flame Deflector. In my farming, I've figured out that I can get to Thermaplugg, kill him and get out of the instance in about 5 minutes.

Basically, what you do is enter the instance, run straight ahead and pick up the parachute from the chest overlooking the drop off. Jump, then click on the parachute and slowly fall down. Run out the western door. I usually run down the left side of the next tunnel which is a little higher than the right side. I find that if I can stay right on the slightly raised ridge, I can avoid aggro on both the mobs on the left and the mobs on the right.

I run down the ridge to the next big drop off. Right as you exit the tunnel, there's a column in front of you and slightly to the left. If you run off the ledge there, you'll land on a little structure. From there, turn left and run off the structure onto the lip that runs around the outskirts of the room. Hop off the lip and duck down into the second exit on the left. You'll know it's the correct one because of the Dark Iron Agent sitting right by the door.

I do essentially the same thing in this tunnel as in the first one - run down the left side but on the slightly raised ridge that separates the left from the middle. About half the time I aggro everything past the little tunnel on the left just so I can kill everything at the same time that I kill Thermaplugg - other times, I skip try to avoid aggro. It doesn't seem to matter much - I almost always aggro something on the way back up the tunnel anyway.

After Thermaplugg's dead, head back up the tunnel and take the workshop tunnel (which is now on your right). Run through the workshop and hop on the elevator. If you've managed to acquire aggro, jumping on the elevator will fix it. Ride up to the top, run down the hallway and open the door. You can avoid aggroing the first pack past the door, but you'll aggro the other packs. Just run through. The exit is close and they don't hit hard enough to worry about.

Jump through the exit, reset all your instances and start again.

from my understanding of the whole storly behind gnomeregan is that the gnomes where driven out of thier home by dirty big troggs or summin. so i was thinking, why not just get 5 lvl 60's to run though and clear the place out, then the dam gnomes'll have thier city back...

Allience quests are possible for levels 28 and further but do not excepect to finish the entire dungeon with a group that is five people lvl 28...
Horde quests are harder and are for level 30 and further and yes you can finish the dungeon with a group of 5 lvl 30's.
the dungeon itself i huge realy huge... itll take a normal group (normal=no lvl 40+'s) about 3-4 hours to cover it all.
it is useless though to do the entire dungeon unless you want to grind ur ass off whitch is fine considering the 20-30 named mobs that are there.
there are 2 quests for horde and about 8 for allience most gotten from tinker-town in IF and there are 2 more quests inside 1 is escort and the other the quest to open the -Grime encured Objects-.
the final boss is level 34 and is realy hard walking bomb start apearing from holes surrounding the room whitch the boss is in the best way to do him is to have a hunter to move around the circle and destroy the bombs.
The is a shortened way to get to the final boss quickly (there and 2 portals inside the dungeon) come from allience side and when u enter big room cotinue forward instead of going to the right you than see a room with a hightend platform leave it alone go to the right and there u see a door a rogue will open it or the key that u get from one of the mini bosses will go inside and tadah your 2/3 way in the dungeon.

Everyone who said this instance is a waste of time is wrong. It's easy to solo with a 60, for plenty of profit. lvl 20-30 boe's, and save the grime covered objects, because they can be cleaned in the friendly gnome area, and yeild a random engineering reagent. Iron ore is the best i've gotten. Just give th alarm bots a quick attack to silence them. my lock can kill one with one swing of his Soul Harvester.

As a 60 Warrior, I have to disagree. Not only is it quite manageable, solo, I was doing it at a much lower level. You won't see many 60's running, though, because most of them despise the instance and prefer to farm slightly higher instances, like Scarlet Monastery.

The problem you're seeing with the massive crowd of mobs is caused by the alarmbots. No matter what level you are, what gear you're rolling with, or who you're fighting, you need to drop everything and hit the alarmbots when they start screaming. If left alive long enough, they will draw the attention of more mobs than an entire group can handle.

I came in here with my friend for a run and my honest opinion is, having seen most of the dungeon content 1-60 is that this instance blows. If you have the levels just hit Scarlet Monastery and give this one a miss. Better yet, spend the '2-4 hours' you'll spend in here growing levels and then hit SM - it'll be a far better use of your time. If you do insist on doing it, take a warlock who knows his way round soulstones because the run back is one of the worst I've had to do in a long time. EDIT: The only other instance that ^&*!s me this much is Sunken Temple and even that had its moments.

I never entered Gonomeregan before, except briefly with my Lv 12 Gnome Mage which never made it past the first corner. I went back with my Lv 39 Night Elf Rogue just to see what was in there. I needed some supplies for Alliance Commmendations and I was in that area and picked up a couple of quests for there I thought I'd pay a visit. The dungeon is a bit confusing if you've never been through it before. I caught the elevator down and started exploring, mostly in stealth although that wasn't really necessary against the mid-level elites in the upper levels.
I had two quests I received from the Gnomes in IF, one for the prismatic card and the other for essentioal artifacts. I had no clue what or where they were but they turned out easy enough to get. The initial (white) card you get from a mob in the upper level and use it on the appropriate machine to get the card for the subsequent level. The machines start at #### -A then go to -B, etc., so the right one is easy enough to identify. The essential artifacts are pretty much all over the mid-lower levels so getting 12 was no problem.
I did have two problems that made life in this instance a bit challenging. The first were the little non-elites that patrol very quickly in the mid levels. If I wasn't careful I'd end up against 2 elites and 3 non-elites which, with my low armor level, made survival difficult. The other was going solo against the mechanical 32+ elites because my poisons had no effect. Other than that stealthing around was relatively simple to do, although I tended to knock off as many as safely possible for the drops.
On the way out there's an elevator that takes you to a shortcut (the elevator is close to where you get the prismatic card) and having lockpicking made it simple to open the locked doors. I even reopened one I had just passed through for a party that wanted to go through that route. No XP though, but it's an interesting place to explore. There's even a "safe" area where the Sparklematic 5200s were located where you can safely pause, sell extra stuff you've collected to a vendor, or mail them to an alt. I get bored cleaning grime-encrusted items because I wasn't getting much in return for the 3 s I had to spend for each cleaning. I didn't know about the ring so I sold the rest (about 15) to the vendor. Incidentally, the green guards there won't help you knock off any mobs. I tried pulling one and they just stood there.

ive had a great Idea.
If there is another expansion, they should have it that gnomeregan gets cleared and saved and made into a real city. And the gnomes manage to make a virtual reality version of the gnomeregan instance so people can still do it, all the quests start within the city and are "Tests" to see if you can actully do it.

ran a friend and a couple lowbies through today, we wiped once, I'm a 70 lock. Somebody aggroed the bottom area on the way to thermaplugg, and I started casting seed of corruption on everything, got about 3 off before the first one took effect. the arcane nullifiers reflected it back, and I was dead before I knew what happened.

It seems Blizzard has nerfed Gnomeregan a bit ? :))

It is possible to solo 3 of the Gnomeregan bosses as a L40 horde feral druid. I only did 3 bosses because other boss drops didn't interest me, but I'm pretty sure the other bosses are soloable as well. Soloing the large groups of mobs on the other hand is another matter.
I didn't try it at L40 - I'm not a fan of dying :)
Basically you stealth to the bosses and tank n spank in bear form. Avoiding the large and numerous groups of mobs in stealth is a nerve-wracking business, and to make it even more fun the Alarm-O-bots can detect stealth ! Keep your distance from them if you see one coming. It will only sound the alarm if you get into it's aggro range, so you do have a bit of leeway at L40.
If it does sound the alarm, KILL IT QUICKLY...otherwise it summons a patrol of 2 or 3 elites - you will probably not survive.

Electrocutioner 6000 - Very straightforward to take him down.
Use bear form, you will have enough health. I managed him at L39 as well. He drops the workshop key, which allows you to get in through the back entrance and head straight for Thermaplugg if you intend doing runs in Gnomeregan in the future.

I managed this guy at L39 as well.
Getting to this guy is tricky. Lots of mobs to avoid which can best be done by sticking close to the walls. He is alone in a room, but watch out for patrols and Alarm-O-bots
passing through ! If you are in the middle of battle with him, and an Alarm-O-bot comes along, KILL THE ALARM-O-BOT IMMEDIATELY.
Crowd pummeler drops a great dps 2H mace (+16str +5agi) which I actually didn't get.
(Got Staff of Ironaya from Uldaman instead)

Thermaplugg - this is a tough fight, but it can be done.
Stealth all the way down to the bottom of the ramp, avoiding the dark iron dwarves and other mobs. It's not too hard to do if you have a bit of patience, and good timing when
you pass them.
(ie. Do not stealth past a bunch of mobs when one of the mobs is walking in your direction :)
It is possible to reach Thermaplugg WITHOUT A SINGLE FIGHT.
I have done this twice - once at L39 and once at L40.
No fluke or luck involved, just correct timing.
The barrier in the way is the hangar door. You have to open it to get to Thermaplugg and there are 3 mobs guarding it.
Go to the right of the door, and watch the mob closest to you.
In WoW, you do not have to be right on top of a chest or an item when you open it or use it. You can be a small distance away from it.
Make sure you are at this 'max distance' from the door before attempting to open it, and as close to the right wall as possible.
As long as the 'cog' still shows on your screen, you're ok.
Now, the moment the closest mob to you turns away, right click on the hangar door.
The hangar door opens immediately, it is not a 'channeled' opening that takes 5 or more seconds !
Opening the hangar door breaks your stealth, but it DOES NOT AGGRO THE MOBS. (lol)
The moment the door opens, reverse away from the mobs and the door and go into stealth again as soon as you can. Once you are back in stealth, sneak past the large group of mobs in the
hangar and go say 'hi' to Thermaplugg.
You will need to shapeshift a few times to heal in this fight, shifting between druid and bear form and those walking bombs are gonna hurt you, but the fight is winnable.

Positioning is important in this fight. Do not fight Thermaplugg in the centre of the room.
Fight him at the side of the hangar. The walking bombs come from a number of different chutes which are spread around the hangar. By being at the side of the hangar you are increasing the amount of time it takes for some of the bombs to reach you, which will 'stagger' the damage you take, allowing you time to react when it is time to shapeshift and heal. The bombs will not all arrive at once.

One interesting tactic in this fight is to ALLOW HIS KNOCKBACK. In a lot of WoW boss fights it is common practice for the tank to put his back to a wall to avoid being flung about the
room. Not in this fight. Thermaplugg's knockback HELPS YOU.
On at least one occasion I avoided the bomb explosions because Thermaplugg knocked me away at the precise moment some of the walking bombs decided to explode, and on top of that once you land yards away after the knockback you have a few seconds before Thermaplugg catches up to you again.
Use these seconds to shapeshift and heal !
(Only...don't position yourself in such a way that his knockback flings you into the mobs at the door of the hangar ?)

I attempted Thermaplugg at L39 with no joy. At L40 I got Dire Bear form and this made the difference.
He dropped Charged gear of the monkey for me, very nice
of him :)

1. AV gives rep with main cities

2. Handing in various cloth

3. Doing all the quests around the gnome starting area, loch moden and there are some in stonetallon.

I am gaining rep to get ambasitor and to see if i can get my last few mounts i need to get 50 for the albino dreak. (im a draenei)

I have a 80 Gnome Warrior. So far i have completed this chr, but....

The city that should be rightfully the Gnomes (Gnomeregan) is STILL being run by a lvl 36 elite mob.....euck......I have run this Raid by myself nearly 100 times now, and still the Gnomes dont move in.

I think Blizzerd is lazy for not giving the Gnomes a proper City of their own.

My experience with Gnomer so far is only 2 runs due to the fact our groups could never get in due to all the instances being full lately...

The 1st time was 3 of us on a guild run...I was around lvl 29, Druid, healing...with another Druid lvl 34 as feral cat, and a lvl 42 Hunter. We did okay, though went slow just pulling a few things at once, and got to the last half when our cat had to suddenly leave due to RL. Me and 42 Hunter went on okay until last halls with Dark Irons - we wiped in the mobs and gave up. Man, it is looong....

2nd time was successful, PuG with me at lvl 39 as tank, feral bear, reinforced/enchanted armor, a lvl 32 holy Pally, lvl 29 Warlock, and lvl 28 Druid as healer. Honestly our Pally was a bit of a yahoo, wandering around, talking smack and getting aggro, but even so we got into a routine of this:

-Tank go out and pull as much mob as you can, use Taunt, Challenging Roar, Faerie Fire whatever - get them all in one place attacking you. 2 DPS firing away. Healer heals tank. Threat Meter for tank VERY good to have and communication from everyone else if they are getting aggro so you can pull it to back to you. Warlock uses spell that rains fire.

Mob by mob, we went thru the whole place and never had a problem. Ranged DPS with pet/minion is very helpful here too.

For feral tanks: if you're going down the Feral talent tree, try to pick Survival Instincts when you can, the damage really piles on with some of these mobs and this can make your healer sweat a little less while his heal charges ;D (This is the talent that will increase your HP temporarily during battle!)

Thermaplugg: Easy compared to the previous...early on a big knockback attack for tank, charge right back and use all your threat buttons, especially as the mobs come, Swipe and CR work well.

Took us 2 hours to clear the whole place....a few nice drops (and a learning experience - 1st time to main tank!)

May go again later to pick up some stuff to sell for $$$...but man, it really is frustrating/mind-numbing to get around.

We did Gnomeregan today with five ~lvl 30 ppl, two of whom left mid-way. Paladin Priest Warlock (Cat druid, Rogue). While it took a LONG time, it was very easy. In the later parts, there were many groups of non-elites, that were easily dispatched using some area spells, but wearing mail is a definite plus.

The most confusing area to me was the Clean Room where the vendor, mailbox and cleansing machine are, and its adjacent area where the "Matrix Punchograph 3005-B" is, with its many hallways leading to and fro, and also you can find there the goblin Kernobee that wants to be escorted out of GR.

Having the Atlas addon was a great help! Having in-game maps available is a definite plus.

The end boss died very quickly. We had our Warlock running around pushing buttons, and it seemed like the boss was chasing him. It was hard to keep aggro. But he died very quickly, even if he had 7k hitpoints.

What we didn't do was "A Fine Mess" - escort Kernobee out of Gnomeregan. Apparently it was a timed quest, and we didn't feel like going back to the entrance.

I finally did this at lvl 80 on my warlock, because I simply wanted the acheivement. It took about an half an hour and that was only becaause I spent ages looking for a way down when there wasn't one, I finally jumped down and it was smooth sailing from there. The only real damage I took was from my own spell: Hellfire. The final boss was soooooo easy, the mobs in front of him died from my pet and I just ran straight to Thermaplugg used immolate and incinerate and he died after the incinerate hit him, he didn't even get a chance to summon anything. He dropped about 5 silver, Charged Gear of the Falcon and Sage's bracers of the Falcon.

I'm happy I finally did this and it really isn't as confusing as I thought it was at lvl 25.

Not worth doing the end part, at least at level 32. The dark iron agents at the end tunnel are pretty much impossible to kill with their land mines, and alert system going off.

As of Season of Discovery Phase 3, the entry requirement may have been changed. The lowest I've previously been aware of during Phase 2 was 35, but I've now confirmed it that the 10-player raid dungeon can be entered as early level 25.
