This spell is completely DIFFERENT from Plainsrunning. Plainsrunning were activated when running for 10 straight seconds, whilst not considered a mount (when you got hit, the speed only got reduced). While this is a "mount" spell.

Mechanic: Mounted
Effect: Apply Aura: Mounted

Just like any other mounts. And I'd imagne that if you use a spell or ability which dismounts you (auras, and such doesn't count), you'd return to your "normal" form. (Standing on the ground, with your 2 feet.)

Edit: I was just saying that this "mount spell" were completely different from the ol' Plainsrunning, so why down rate the fact?

Take note that the spell is considered a Racial spell. Plus the fact it has a level requirement (20). Does this mean you need to visit some sort of worgen trainer? Or maybe you'll have to perform a special worgen quest.

It's lame that Blizzard don't have the guts to make this spell instant. An instant cast you can use while not in combat.

Imagen running and jumping and then land on all four and just keep running but alot faster. THAT would be cool!

I guess this spell will make you run like a normal Worgen from previous expansions. Just check the worgen's running mode on modelviewer. It's amazing! It really drops to all fours!

I saw that as well. It was on wowwiki and not a blue post so I don't know how true it is. But you never know. Specially since under the Worgen page on wowwiki under the mount tab it says there is no mount besides Running Wild. But in the Running Wild page it says they still get regular mounts other alliance races can ride.

Worgen Mounts

Worgen will not have a racial mount, but will instead have Running Wild, in which they take to all fours and travel at mount speed. This is a different mechanic than the removed tauren Plainsrunning ability.

Running WIld

Running Wild is indeed the new racial "mount" for worgen. Functionally the ability works exactly like a mount. This does mean the worgen are not bringing faction mounts to the table which other Alliance races can access. This is also of course very different from the original Plainsrunning implemented for taurens. We have no plans to try and bring that ability back in any form.

Ultimately, we feel Running Wild fits very well with the nature of the worgen race. Rather than getting a physical mount, they get down and sprint on all fours. When you're playing a worgen, it just feels awesome. :)

Edit: Yeah after posting that I saw that it was Zarhym who said it and it was indeed a blue post. Weather or not Worgen's get the pig mount thingy for their racial mount, Who knows. I don't see why they won't be racial mounts, if any at all, being released soon in Beta.

This has afew bugs still, mostly fun ones. If you are in worgen form and press Two Forms then immediately after Running Wild, halfway through the cast you will become human again, but will still receive the buff, enabling you to run like you're on meth. Also with this you still follow the mount angling rules, so you can sit on say a hallow's end pumpkin and pretend you are spiderman!

Best Deals Anywhere
Always receive the best possible gold discount, regardless of faction.
Why: Saves a ton of money, Epic flying turns from 5k gold to 4k gold, which is great for newbies

Better Living Through Chemistry
Alchemy skill increased by 15.
Why: Alchemy can be useful to every class, which makes this racial useful to every class.

Pack Hobgoblin
Calls in your friend, Gobber, allowing you bank access for 1 min.
Why: A portable friggin' bank. This is what WoW players have been begging for: more portable bag space. Prot warriors especially.

Rocket Barrage
30 yd range
Instant 2 min cooldown
Launches your belt rockets at an enemy, dealing ____ fire damage.
Why: A nuke. An instant ranged nuke. In fact, I would call it a literal nuke, because it's a rocket. How is this bad?

Rocket Jump
Instant 2 min cooldown
Activates your rocket belt to jump forward.
Why: A 75 yard jump, this thing can be used for friggin' anything. Running away, chasing, glitching (well, not technically glitching, since we can fly anywhere), and multiple other things.

Time is Money
Cash in on a 1% increase to attack and casting speed.
Why: This racial increases endgame dps a LOT. Plus, it's always nice to cast/attack faster.

And now lets review worgen racials!
...and berate them for being friggin' retarded compared to goblins.

Aberration
Reduces the duration of all Curses and Diseases used against you by 15%.
Berate: This is purely situational. There's 10 classes, but I believe there's only ONE class that uses curses, and ONE more that uses diseases. In PVE, curses and diseases aren't very common.

Darkflight
Instant 3 min cooldown
Activates your true form, increasing movement speed by 70% for 10 sec.
Berate: It's basically Rocket Jump but instead of a jump, you move faster. And considering that Rocket jump goes across a possibly shorter distance in a shorter amount of time, this is basically Sprint and RJ is Blink, only 3x better.

Flayer
Skinning skill increased by 15 and allows you to skin faster.
Berate: Useless. Sure it might save time when skinning and may help you level faster, but no use in PVE and PVP.

Two Forms
Instant 1.5 sec cooldown
Turn into your currently inactive form.
Berate: Not technically a racial, since it's learned later in the game (and by later I mean about 3 minutes later), I only put it up here so people don't go omfg no twoforms?, but still, it's useless, purely aesthetic

Viciousness
Increases critical strike chance by 1%.
Berate: Sure, 1% crit chance is nice, but is nowhere close to Goblin's Time is Money.

In Summary: Yeah, crappy racials.

To all those asking: Worgen can still ride other races' mounts if they so choose. And for all intents and purposes, this IS a mount; it has the exact same functionality, but it just uses a different animation instead of a mount model. IIRC, it even comes with mount training.

The "increases flight speed" bit is not likely to be in the final game (although the mental image of a worgen flying around frantically waving his arms to stay in the air did make me smile)

EDIT: TB has a video of the Female Worgen's Running Wild animation up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGCI5EpGgww The animation's still a bit glitchy (there's a random disembodied hand waving around in the animation), but I like the look of it.

For real, Though this is a good idea. also allowing them to ride other racial or other mounts is to it gives them how you say a advantage. i think its a fair one beacause they are like wolfs there worgens it makes complete sense . justtell the horde to watch out for the low prowling worgens that can gank um at 100%mount speed then they can qq, itle be fun cant wait to run like a beast in cata.

If this acts like a spell then I wonder if it will scale with haste? An instant mount could be useful in battlegrounds for ranged worgen, just by keeping the enemy slowed/snared at range then drop the target to get out of combat and insta-mount. Could be useful for gathering and questing as well.

Of note in the debate about Running Wild vs. No Mounts, the beta had Worgen gaining free riding skill automatically at level 20, just like any other race's Warlock or Paladin (or Druid @ lvl 60). Running Wild needed to be trained, but at dirt cheap price.

People have complained for years about Locks and Pallys getting an easier ride, even after the price drops. Now a race gets the same thing. Saving 3-4 gold is a nice incentive when starting up an alt on a new server. A Worgen Druid multiplies those savings.

A Worgen Warlock will be able to learn the Felsteed spell & Running Wild at level 20, allowing him to choose his method of travel.

This is flaberghastingly stupid, no, not the running wild I LUV IT. What is stupid though is that when people ask if the exalted gives a mount. Everytime someone asks that people start raging OMFG LOOZER STOP THE QQ CUZ THE ALLY HAZ LESS MOUNTS! no.. i dont give a crud if ally has less mounts, im horde. But I do want to know what you get at exalted, because to me an achievement and a tabard is inferior to the other races as they give, tabard,mount, and achievement.

To all the people raging about mounts; Blizz says their not getting a racial mount. To me that means their not getting a distinct mount like the Draenei's Elekks or the Dwarves' Rams, but that doesn't necessarily mean their not getting any mounts. The Worgen are human half the time and since Running Wild is a Werewolf-form trait, I'm guessing they still need mounts for their time as a Human.

They'll probably get some Victorian-esque horses. Maybe with fancier bridles/blankets or those feather head decorations you see at old fashioned funnerals (example; http://www.abfabulous.co.uk/pages/funerals.htm) or something to make them distinct from Human mounts and still thematic for Gilneas' Victorian culture. It makes more sense then them having some weird creature since their a human sub-race and lets us have Running Wild which is very characterful.

@vincistis; As a point, I'm exalted with Gilneas right now. There is no achievement for them. Since we already have the tabards I'm thinking the new Cata factions won't be giving comparable stuff to the old factions.

So before I thought they had some big Woig (wolf/pig) mount. Then I hear that they get to run around on all fours. Was a little like that is going to be broken, then read it and go ohh its like a mount spell. Okay that works for me.

Though am wondering how Alliance is down 2 mounts now, as I thought the Raptor made up for the Frostsaber. While the goblins introduce the trike, and the worgen don't have one shouldn't that only be one less mount? Or when another alliance non worgen gets exalted they get to ride around on a worgen? Maybe I am missing something.

Having Running Wild instead of a racial mount, gives a odd progression. I can see waiting until you are level 20 to learn to ride. Riding would take special skill, but running around like the wild animal you are or were should just come naturally. Also, in the starting zone, you ride horses which seem readily available, but now you cannot ride a horse.

I rolled a worgen hunter and when he dinged 20, I saw he automatically learned 2 things: riding training apprentice and Running Wild.

Running Wild should be Bouncing Wild. It is an awful graphic. His sword sticks straight up in the air.

However, I have the Celestial Steed for him and he can ride it instead of running around like a 4 yr old playing monkey.

If you join a Dungeon Finder instance while "mounted" with Running Wild, and then leave the instance in Human Form, then you'll be Running Wild as a human.

Running around just uses the sprint animation, but when you're stationary, your character is in quite the compromising position.

This is just a suggestion:

Subdued Pine Mastiff - Increases mount speed by 60%. Requires 75 Riding. Free if Running Wild is also trained.

Swift Pine Mastiff - Increases mount speed by 100%. Requires 150 Riding. Free if Running Wild is also trained.

Just to even it out a little bit. Goblins get 2 mounts, worgen get 2 mounts. Too bad Blizzard doesn't read Wowhead comments.

I find it funny that you have a summon time with this. Granted, i understand the need to keep it even with all the other mounts, but just seems odd that my Worgen has to get into position and get ready before he can run like this. Watch out, before going any Caverns of Time dungeon, make sure you buy some OTHER mount (at this level you should have at least 1-2 exalted if you've not been sleeping). Else "You can't use that here" will make you look kinda stupid. Tested in Black Morass and Old Hillsbrad Foothills so far.

Well for anyone that wants to do running wild as a human, there is a glitch that lets you do it. It's pretty funny, and I can confirm that it works, as I've done it myself. This might be slightly more useful for tanking worgens.

1. Make sure you're in worgen form, then put yourself in running wild mode.

2. Enter a dungeon via the dungeon finder.

3. Complete the dungeon, or just drop it if you don't care. But before leaving put yourself in HUMAN form.

4. When you return to the place you were before, you'll still be in running wild. But you'll be doing it as a human!

This glitch only affect your character though. Everyone else will still see you as a worgen. But on your screen, you'll be a human hunched over like a transformed worgen. When you run, it'll be the standard human run only at 100% speed. Naturally this is hilarious. You'll look like the flash!

This ability should be instant cast and start moving at 33%, then 66% and then 100% (or 30%-60% if you are level 20-39), because it is rarely that a wolf would take 1.5 seconds to drop to all fours.

It is also worth noting that upon reaching level 20, Worgens automatically learn Apprentice Riding - free of charge, and without visiting a trainer.
They also automatically learn Running Wild to go along with it.
However, upon reaching level 40, you must physically visit a trainer and learn Journeyman Riding, which will then increase the speed of Running Wild.

I was thinking, since just about everyone hates Running Wild, and they're all giving their own ideas of what should be the mount, most of the ideas I've seen have to deal with Worgen being all feral and such. I figured that if Blizzard ever removes Running Wild and gives the Worgen an actual mount that Ally races could use, it should be something that has to do with Gilnean culture.

Thinking over that, why don't they make the carriages the Worgen mount? Like the one you ride in the Exodus quest, Exodus, except with a different model to be more unique.

It's just a thought, but I think it really could work.

You know considering the size of mounts plus the size of your character I've found worgen have a slight advantage on battlegrounds, it's kinda hard to identify from distance if the guy you're after is on all fours or not, specially since worgen are already hunched.

Strangely enough I've found you can make your Worgen do a funny twitch as you land while jumping in this form if you spam Spacebar (or mountspecial). Takes a try or a two to get the timing but in no time your Worgen is sure to look like a mental patient!

It does not count towards Mountain O' Mounts, it is just considered Mount Aura not an actual mount. :(

Patch 4.3 is now adding mounts for Worgen, presumably to make it easier for Alliance to get the Mountain o' Mounts achievement.

it is unknown at the moment whether Running Wild will stay or not.
