This FINALLY allows ferals to AoE tank properly.
Wariors have Thunderclap and Shockwave, Paladins Consecriation and DKs Death and decay and Blood boil.
We had only Swipe and Berserk, both of whitch hit only 3 targets.

Good little something for druid tanking. Swipe swipe swipe swipe was just boring, atleast now i have to look at the button(s) i'm pressing. Well, i assume it's an AoE...it doesn't seem to state it.

This is gonna be... Something. In 4.0.1 That Hits Today, Druids only have Swipe with 6s CD if I am not Mistaken. That's gonna be fun :P
(Hence this ability requires 81 level)

anyone have any idea if this will share a cd with swipe like heroic strike and cleave share a cooldown for a warrior?

This ability is amazing. I used it to tank in stonecore today, and I was stunned by the great AoE threat I got. After six months of not tanking, this really alleviated my fears that I would lose aggro. Totally awesome.

Debuff on target(s) says "Bleeding for $ over 6 sec.".. That's truely epic...

If only Goblins could be druids, then the tooltip would be correct ;)

I have a macro i like to use for bear tanking inclouding this and swipe:

#show Thrash(Bear Form)
/castsequence reset=5 Thrash(Bear Form), Swipe(Bear Form)

for the people that aint used to macros, this will just cast Thrash, then if you press it again, cast swipe. it got the 5 second reset, so every time you engage a new pack you Trash will be the first spell cast again.
Tho i like to still keep swipe on my bars for those situations where your missing the 10 rage more swipe costs.

Quick question, This ability seems to have 2 parts the dmg then the dot. The tooltip is very clear on the dot (applied to all targets in range) but what about the dmg is that applied to all or just your target?

To answer my own question, Yes the Dmg and the Dot effect all targets hit.
Also compare the Dot to 3 stacks of Lacerate and bow before Thrash for me its about twice the dmg of 3 stacks of lac.

Some words of warning to these macros:

#showtooltip
/cast Swipe
/cast Thrash

This one doesn't work "just fine". It only casts Swipe. Nothing else.

#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=6/target Thrash(Bear Form), Swipe(Bear Form)

This macro won't let you use Swipe until Thrash is ready. Additionally when switching the target and Swipe was usable before you'll make it non-usable untill you could use Thrash and then you mustn't switch the target to do so.

Castsequence macros also never reset when they are spammed because each time the button is pressed the reset time counting begins anew. That will cause the castsequence macro to use spell by spell in the order they are listed and when finished to begin anew while the reset time is never reached as long as someone spams.

My macro atm looks like this and supports cat and bear with all 3 abilites:
#showtooltip
/startattack
/cast Thrash(Bear Form); Swipe(Bear Form)
/cast Swipe(Cat Form)

You'll only be able to use Thrash when pressing a modifier (I use alt). Without a modifier Swipe will be used.
My button for this ability is #3 so it's not so far away from that key. Also you could bind any AE skill you often use to a mouse button with an addon like Bindpad.

There are 2 effects triggered when using this ability:
-a direct hit attacking everything within 8y around the druid
-a bleeding dot that is applied to all targets that were hit

The bleeding dot:
-ticks every 2s, 3 times to a total 6s
-can crit for twice the damage
-bleed damage increasing effects buff the dot
-ignores the armor

Additional info:
-when used and no target exists it'll automatically chose a target
-because the bleeding dot lasts as long as the ability is on cooldown you can also watch the enemie's debuffs to see if the ability is ready

Scaling (including Master Shapeshifter):
Swipe: 7.8217 AP per point of damage -> 12.7849% AP scaling
Thrash: 9.7961 AP per point of damage -> 10.2081% AP scaling
Thrash (Dot): 19.1734 AP per point of damage over 6s -> 5.2156% AP scaling

The initial damage appears to increase on targets with the mangle debuff on them :)
Tested this in Mount Hyjal on a level 81 druid, 2 worgen, one with mangle debuff on him and one without.
The worgen without mangle took 1,661 damage and the one with mangle took just over 2,000 damage! :)
