thats a whole lot of haste for something like lifesblood <3.

Very nice. a nifty cooldown for having herbalism <3. Will ofcourse be used everytime on CD for dps in raids and dungeons when timely.

Wont be as powerful as the actual class cooldowns, pots and trinket bonus's but its a worthy ability compared/on par to the other gathering prof bonus's.

As stated before, a very awesome ability for any sort of herbalist, and it's a huge improvement over the original. A small self-heal combined with a big 20% haste boost that will be loved by any class. At the moment, it's off the GCD, meaning you can bind it to any other ability without any worries. The fact that it's on a 2 minute cooldown makes it all the more juicy. I kind of miss that it's not an HoT, but hey, some people prefer it being instant, up-front health.

The heal is worthless in it's current state:

Value: 720 to 2160

The haste, while welcomed from a PvE stand point and makes this gathering profession actually give you an increase in PvE from how it was, the PvP aspect is horrible.

Would make me happy if it was just a 10% heal, or at least something as good as a health pot.

In the end it is a long step from giving you nothing but some income.

Let's face it, 720-2160 for a level 80 where you had ~35-40k hp means it healed for around 4%-8% health and that sounds alright (could be higher but any way).

In Cataclysm the health pool is around 110k and will be rising, but anyway 4%-8% of a 110k hp pool is between 4400-8800 health so I wouldn't really be surprised to see it heal for 5000-9000 at maxed out herbalism skill. The haste is fine, the heal is not even remotely usable...

I am no expert in itemization and such but it's obvious to see that the Lifeblood is more like Hasteblood really, with the side effect of a 1% heal. Perhaps a scaling solution would be preferable, but I'll let Blizzard properly fix this spell to become usable at high skill and levels. :)

This gives approximately 3.75% casting speed at 85.

Haste to 1% casting speed is about 128

480/128=3.75

Compared to other professions, this grants an average of 80 haste rating over an infinitely long fight, which is the same amount of stats granted by other professions. Realistically, fight lengths won't match up with the cooldown, so the actual benefit will be greater.

How good this is depends on how much your class benefits from Haste, of course.

It certainly has lost it's use for tanks in cata. I was thinking maybe they should make 2 spells one with haste (with more haste) and another with healing (significantly increased healing) they both should share the same CD of 2 mins, u have a choice to pick which one to use on the fight. I know this idea would cause debate on the skinning and mining bonus but ya I am afraid I feel the bonus is very very lame when it comes to comparing it to LK days.

If you're wondering about whether this ability is competitive with other profession bonuses for PVP, it's usually not worth taking. Here's why:

1. Most professions that aren't gathering based give a static bonus of 80 to your primary stat.
2. Some professions give you the option to change this bonus to affect secondary stats.
3. Engineering gives an even better bonus of either 480 of your primary stat (on use), a damaging attack (5-10k) and other options.

The only way I'd say this is worth taking in PVP is if you're a class which highly values haste and wants to line up a specific amount of casts in a certain amount of time. (I.E. Mage getting off three casts during a deep freeze.) I'm pretty sure that other options would outweigh the usefulness of this, except in very rare cases.

Note: The tailoring bonus were changed to 580 Intellect/Spirit and 1k AP instead of Mana, Spell Power & AP. Skinning & Herblism are by far the worst for both PvE & PvP by most standards. Engineering is probably the most popular for Str/Agi users in PvP, Eng & Tailoring for casters. As far as professions with bonuses that work no matter what you're doing, JC + BS are probably best. If you don't care about min maxing, take what you like best, Engineering is lots of fun, JC & Ench are quite lucrative. If you wnat a recommendation based on your role in the game, dps go w/ any non-gathering professions, same w/ healers, tanks tend to stick to JC & BS because of the customization options.

I have an 85 DK with just over 150,000 hit points this heals me for 1250-2450. I think this ability was better when they had it a HoT. The haste bonus of 420 haste for 20 seconds I feel is not worth it I hardly ever remember to use it.

Lifeblood's actual heal seems a little hard to calculate. It is NOT the 720 - 2160 value currently listed by Wowhead. This is probably a base number, onto which is added some extra value.

It scales with either maximum health or spell power (possibly attack power if higher). Using it naked vs full gear gives roughly a 55% increase to the amount healed on my 85 priest.

The numbers vary widely, so with a 2-minute cooldown, it's hard to deduce an exact formula without a large amount of patience/spare time. Also hard to say whether it benefits from "healing increased by X%" talents such as Twin Disciplines or not.

For my 152k priest, fully geared it heals around 2400; about 2% of my maximum health. Naked, it heals around 1500; about 3.5% of maximum.

Obviously, this is never going to cut it as a self-healing cooldown. However, having a free, instant 2% heal in the heat of battle every 2 minutes certainly doesn't hurt.

Meanwhile, the flowers are nice.
