You will have to chose between Inner Fire and Inner Will.

Either giving up armor and spellpower or reduced mana cost for instants and increased movement speed.

They are similiar to a warlock's Fel armor and Demon armor.

Since Both Inner Fire and Inner Will both don't cost mana, i suppose we can do "stance dance" right ?

with Inner Sanctum, You can also change to Inner Fire for heavy spell dmg (6% is not much but still nice). The speed of Inner Will also boosted.

Use Inner Fire for tank healing or defence, and change to Inner Will when moment or instant spamming is needed, nice to see more interactive in priest playing style!

Proper use in PvE:

MegaScaryDoomBoss drops a large Void Zone under Mr. McHealsALot.

McHealsALot quickly uses Inner Will and moves out of the Void Zone faster than he would have without it.

McHealsALot, now to safety, activates Inner Fire and returns to healing the tank, MeatShield.

Very curious if it stacks with other movement speed increases. Doesn't seem likely but if it is thats amazing. 8% is the general speed increase from any enchant or gem. Plus with 3 points in Inner Sanctum that bumps it up to a 16% making it a 24% basically permanent increase so long as you and Inner Will up.

I'm hopeful. But knowing blizzard they wont want priests speeding all over the place and it will likely just be a 16% increase as thats around the general boost that most movement speed talents give. However they are the one class that has zero utility in mobility really. So maybe they're finally being nice.

The situations:

Inner Fire -- You're mostly staying stationary throwing out cast-time-heals, you have plenty of mana for healing, there are fairly big hits going out, or you're in risk of being hit physically (whether PvP or PvE situations). At this point you need that bonus SP for stronger heals and the armor increase for more survivability.

Inner Will -- You're starting to dwindle on mana, or the fight is becoming highly mobile. People are going out of your range, it's difficult to throw out a heal with a cast time and things are getting hectic. At this point you need the extra movement speed to move out of the fire and to conserve as much mana as possible; the reduction is on instant casts, so your on-the-move casts are more efficient.

On live, these use a GCD, meaning you'll have to make your decision carefully.

I'm not sure about you, but I find that my HPS barely drops while moving, what with a plethora of instant healing spells (especially holy) priests have.

To elaborate:
Moving: Spam renew, PoM, Circle. (all of these used to proc Surge of Light, which meant more instant heals. Right now, however, in Chakra: Renew you also get Holy Word as an instant. There is also Desperate prayer, Guardian Spirit for emergencies and PW:Shield for some added speed and absorption.

"Zero utility"? I don't think so.

True, it does take some dexterity with mouse & keyboard, but then again all high end stuff does.

It seems as that Inner Fire is more discipline oriented and Inner will is more holy oriented in most raid healing situations

Edit: most likely it is as this is holy schooled and you won't do much moving while healing a tank and will have to move around much more getting to different dps'ers to spam renew on them

I did i quick test running the same distance with and without the buff and wearing speed enchant on feet and it seems that it does not stack cause it took the same time.

Using this script to see the players run speed in game...

/script ChatFrame1:AddMessage(string.format("Player speed: %d%%", (GetUnitSpeed("Player") / 7) * 100))

You can see that it does NOT stack with the run speed boot enchant, which means it doesn't stack with the meta run speed also.

The new Earthen Vitality run speed enchant is 7% increase and this spell is 10%. You'll see that when using the above script while running.

I experimented casting renews upon myself with just enough CD to spam the next one. I can get about 30% more casts with this than without (although renew is very expensive to use, but it was a test.)

Because Inner Willl/Fire do not cost anything to cast, I have switched from IF to IW, cast a moderately expensive PoM, PW:Shield, and Renew upon a squishy tank, and switched back to IF so that I have the spellpower. 10% less spellpower against 15% less mana, so it can have a situational use. You need to spam spam "cure disease" or "dispell magic"? switching over will cut back on the mana used by the thousands where spellpower isn't a consideration.

Now I can see why they made Lightwell and especially Sanctuary *almost* instant spells, keeping them out of the mana reduction loop.
