The proc effect is interesting. I can only assume that the spell gains a coefficient of +healing appropriate for a 12 second heal over time effect. Also, unless they artificially reduce the effect, using a rank 1 healing wave could be used to proc a relatively light effect for what is in essence, no mana

Rather strange weapon enchant considering +healing will not exist in WOTLK afaik, both spell damage and +healing will be replaced by "Spell power". It is possible that this spell will still just give +healing but I certainly hope it will give spell power, thus increasing damage done as well. If thats the case then this would be good news for elemental shamans too, as there are no elemental weapon enhancements either.

They are actually changing Flametongue Weapon enchantment to give spell damage in addition to bonus fire damage it causes on melee hit:
"Flametongue Weapon now increases the total spell damage of the Shaman in addition to fire proc."

I wonder will HoTs stack? Cause its 20% and spamming Lesser Healing Wave while under effect of Bloodlust/Heroism will probably proc it more then 3 times.
Can someone test/confirm this?

I'm reasonably certain that the HoT does not currently stack. I haven't tried it out in several builds, though.

This is blizz finally answering to the shaman queries in why there wasnt a weapon enhancement that benefitted restoration spec. The spell is a must to keep enchanted whist healing in any situations, also adds the benefit of providing a enchantment for each situation so swapping weapon enhancements will probably become alot more common in wotlk.

e.g

frostband - to slow a target down
earthliving - increase ur healing
flamtongue - increase dmg on spells
windfury - increase melee haste

i predict alot more roatations between each weapon enhancements for shaman

If you are dual-wielding with earthliving on both, can the HoT be applied per weapon, or will it just have presumably double the chance to proc?

Our new weaponenchant as Restoration Shamans for the time between Patch 3.0 and when we hit lvl80 in Wrath of the Lich King.

Won't ever complain about 110 +healing, and I've tested the HoT (Earthliving) on the PTR and I'm absolutely loving it.
Be sure to take note of Glyph of Earthliving Weapon and Blessing of the Eternals when evaluating the heal. :)

With two points in Blessing of the Eternals, this has a 100% proc chance if the target is below 35% health, making it less random.

Other things of note about this spell:

It procs off almost all heals, including each jump of Chain Heal and every tick of Healing Rain. It does not proc from Riptide ticks or itself.
The 20% chance is for direct heals; it's less with Healing Rain. Similarly, Blessing of the Eternals does not mean guaranteed procs from Healing Rain ticks at low health.
When used with Unleash Elements, it heals the target for a moderate amount and increases the healing done by the next direct healing spell cast by 20%. With Elemental Weapons 2/2, this is increased to 30%. This can be used to boost any spell except Healing Rain. When used with Riptide, it increases the initial heal by 20% (30% talented) and the HoT by 10% (15% talented).
No internal cooldown. No limit on how many targets you can have the HoT active on.
Does not stack with itself. If it procs a second time on the same target, it just refreshes the duration.
The HoT can trigger Ancestral Healing, as well as any procs (trinkets, etc) that can trigger from other HoTs.
Scales with haste. At 85 with Wrath of Air, you need 916 haste to add an extra tick, increasing the total healing the HoT does by 25%.
The "spell healing" bonus is just that: a static bonus to healing spell power (a new "spell healing" statistic will appear on your character sheet). Only works for heals and does not scale with anything except your level. It is increased by buffs that increase your spell power by a percentage, such as Flametongue Totem.

Recount says in was 8% my overall healing in a 5 min fight. That's good with the +healing buff on it. Yesss. Probably something you'll want to keep on your weapon. Not quite as WOW as WF for enh, but it works. well done, kudos.

Earthliving Weapon will only add +healing (and the chance to proc it's HoT of course), while Flametongue Weapon https://www.wowhead.com/cata/spell=16341 will add to your spelldamage. So there's your weapon enchant for elemental shamans Erians.

I want to note that this enchant will help making trinkets proc like https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=40685. This is pretty obvious though, but just to clarify that blizz didn't forget to make it able to proc trinkets :>

Imo a very powerful weapon enchant for me and my fellow resto shammies.

Ok - I tested this enchant along with Earthliving Weapon, I am a resto shamy that was at 20% health to make the proc rate of earthliving 100% on heals, using a 1.4 speed dagger I proced the heal 3-4 times (it has painstakingly large amounts of time between procs)...

Battlemaster does NOT proc Earthliving

I was testing this in the hope of giving the raid off-heals as a boredom test... NOBODY has this enchant in thier book so I waited days to get it... a disappointment indeed

btw. Flametongue gives more spell power.... though normally +healing get almost double from spell power from items.

Hey,
I've been playing around with my 32 Orc Shaman and while having Earthliving Weapon active on a wielded weapon I used Lifeblood (the spell you get when you learn the Herbalism profession). I had the Earthliving proc! It surprised me that the Lifeblood is here also considered as a heal even though it costs no mana.

I leveled four toons to 80. I've alway been around shaman healers. I'd hear this whistle noise that drove me nuts, could never figure out what it was.

Finally, I learned its an Earthliving Weapon proc.

So does this have an unleashed elements potential? If so I've so not been using the full package it can provide.

Confirmed in notes from Unleashed Elements string.

If you use this before healing it instantly heals a target and provides a 20% buff to your next healing (Direct heal) spell!

At 12.5% spell haste, Earthliving gains a 5th tick. Because the character sheet displays rounded values, there has been some speculation about whether 916 or 917 haste rating is needed at level 85 with Wrath of Air active. I tested it with 916 haste and found that I do indeed get 5 ticks of Earthliving. Details of experiment follow:

1. Opened the "Combat Log -> What happened to me?" chat window
2. Dropped Wrath of Air totem
3. Cast healing surge on myself until earthliving proc'd (was careful not to cast any heals after that because they can proc earthliving while it is already active)
4. Counted ticks of earthliving in my chat window

How does the proc portion of this effect work with multi-target heals (chain heal, healing rain, etc)? Does it have a 20% chance that all affected targets get the HoT? Each target a seperate 20% chance of getting the HoT? Only the primary target (for ones like chain heal that have a primary)? Does the proc even work at all on non-single-target effects?

Not sure about these Windward Heart Eye of Blazing Power but I do know the proc heal from Maw of the Dragonlord does not trigger the effect.

/sadface can not grow flowers on people using fire.
