For anyone not familiar with multishot-

It is not like cleave where it hits on the next attack, its instant and pretty important in hunter dps rotations.

Just a few uses for this in pvp scenarios

I love using this with the "jump shot" method. jump, look back, and when u land, fire it. very useful if ur kiting 2 or more players.

Also, if ur 1v1 with a shaman, and he drops a totem, target it and cast this, i prefer this to wasting a gcd or waiting for an autoshot on the totem and doing nothing to to the shaman.

I hope no, 55% weapon damage and reduced damage...
Ah and, they HAVE TO, no, they don't have to, they MUST change the ICON, we are NOT shooting a female Night Elf's weapon, and now, they REALLY MUST change it, we are NOT shooting 3 shoots anymore -.-

Low-level hunters should avoid the redesigned multi-shot unless you have 5 or more targets. It's horribly low damage.

At level 40 my damage numbers were:

Kill Command - 40 focus (37 glyphed), about 340 damage
Multi-Shot - 40 focus, about 320 damage total with 4 targets (80 per)

Multi-shot is practically useless unless you are Survival;
As Survival, it is best not to spam this as you'll have talents such as Serpent Spread and Improved Serpent Sting.
You'll want the periodic damage to run its course while you do other things to maximize your DPS.

Good way to Maximize your AoE DPS;
While you're waiting for Improved Serpent Sting to do its damage, utilize Lock and Load and T.N.T. by using an Explosive Trap
*Explosive Trap does periodic damage to all Enemies in its radius, so the proc rate of T.N.T. is 12% times the # of Enemies in your trap.
You must apply Explosive Shot to different targets.
I suggest to tab target (or next target) spam explovsive shot to do this.
*I usually have nameplates displayed, selecting this enemies with the highest amount of hp to cast explosive shot on

Use Ice Trap after you have expended your Lock and Load charges in order to proc Lock and Load again.
*there is NO COOLDOWN on Lock and Load procs!

*You may want to interrupt this process with another Multi-Shot if your targets no longer have Improved Serpent Sting on them.
*Feel free to use trap launcher, but keep in mind that it costs focus, whereas just trapping and using Disengage is free.

Multi-shot is practically useless unless you are Survival;

Multi-Shot's damage has been reduced. It now deals 120% weapon damage at level 80 or higher, down from 137%.

Personally, I miss Volley. A non-targeted AoE that can be cast anywhere in front or behind the Hunter in a 40 yard radius without a cooldown? Yes, please. In fact, I miss it so much, I wrote a song about it.

Well the thing is it can't hit 1 target tree times, and the other targets needs to be close to the one u have selected and used multi shot on

Wouldn't this be nice to use when you're the flag runner in WSG and are being chased? The instant cast sounds nice too.

I havent liked this spell too much. I mean, yeah the extra damage is nice. (Jumpshot with this and arcane for example) but the 100mana is kinda scary for just another recharging shot. Havent found a decent use for it, mayb with a few hunters and it against bunched up enemies in PvP...

well since auto shot doesn't work while moving, you usually use concussion shot and arcane shot to kite. This isn't really enough to kite though because of the cooldown of arcane shot, so you use arcane shot, concussion shot, multi shot, and the other skill from the marksmanship tree to fire while moving, preferably backwards. now when you do this and use the first skill from the survival skill tree (gives concusion shot a chance to stun) you can kite almost any mob in the game without taking any damage, or having your pet tank

I believe multishot targets things the same way chain lightning does. If you notice, chain lightning does not hit non-combat units so if the second mob is in range of the lightning hop but is not fighting, it will not hop over.

Same with multishot. If the enemies near your target is not engaged in combat, it will not hit them. Therefore, its best use is in PvP where everyone is always in combat.

Ahh, multishot, butter to the bread(Feign Death) of a hunter, I'm not sure what the jam is...maybe conc shot. lol anywho, most covetted damaging skill for hunters :D

It does hit all 3 mobs, as long as they're close enough to your main target.

They don't have to be in combat, nor your target.

Walked around in Northshire taking 3 Kobolds down at a time.

So, this is not like Chain Lightning, besides, these shots hits all their targets instantly (- the time the bullet flies).

100 mana? Fair amount? Sure.

100 mana with a 10 sec. cooldown, you'd like, regen 40-70 mana in that duration unless you use anything else but Auto-Shot.
I can't complain either, I have 1000+ Mana (level 26 Hunter).

So, it's all in all a very good skill.

The other targets for multi-shot does NOT have to be engaged in combat to be hitted. I have experienced this several thims in ZF with the small scarabs. The hav neutral status and wont atack unless atacked, just like the bors in elwyn forest. Using this atack can the lead to some ugly situations when u accidently pull 2 scarabs that engage in combat.

Just don't be a moron when it comes to Multi-shot. It's fine when you're fighting one enemy or in PvP. If you're running an instance and you pop off one of these shots you'll break sheepings, saps and other traps which can lead to wipes.

Just use it cautiously and it's an amazing skill.

but if u notice there is a range to the @#$%, so if u pull the mobs that aren't sapped or watev, and then u bak up to max range their is no chance that u will hit them. u jist have to be smart enough to tell ur tank to pull bak. = ]. and y people use multi shot on 1 monster mobs becaus its extra damage. wat i do is arcane shot, aimed shot, steady shot, multi shot, and arcane shot, and ifthey r stll alaive,i do that over and over again. and jist so u know, the talent for making concussive shot stun is not in the survivalist spec... it's in marksmanship, and wen its maxed out at 5 points, it gives concussive shot a 15% chance to stun for 3-4 secs, cant remember off the top pf my head. oh and a tip to ne of u hunters out there that dont use their serpent sting ever, always make that one of ur first shots, especially in PvP, u may still kill them after u die.

the imp shot of this, u will notice that it will get like a 15% chance to crit i think, which wen hitting 3 targets is quite useful wen it crits for 1200-1600 each time.

I see hunters using this abbility in the start of a fight on large groups of mobs while in an instance or so.
WTF are you doing? Are you trying to make a point that you also have melee abilities? Because you will pull agro of 'non engaged' mobs wich will attack you. You are a hunter (just like me), this is a ranged class who wants to shoot mobs from a distance and not being involved in melee, because you will never kill 3 elites of the same level of you with your sword, axe or wathever. Furthermore, the tank has to run all the way towards you to taunt mobs of you and you are not doing dps wich can result in a wipe.
So use this ability carefully please!
(ps. if this ever happens by accident, use feign death to clear agro)

im not sure if anyone mentioned it but this spell (like arcane shot or serpent sting) is an instant cast so it adds damage and it gives you an extra shot. And in PVP any extra damage or extra hits are worth it ;)

No offense, but no one really explained when and how to use this. I have a 22 hunter and I'm here for some tips on how to best use his abilities, so please post some suggestions if you're an ace hunter. Thanks.

Ok, to clear everything up about this spell. Basicly, this spell has a 0.5 second cast, but no cast bar. And another thing, be careful when using this. I have had it many a time where I use this and 1) I pull adds 2) this spell hits a frog or snake or whatever. Happy pwning XD

I dont understand that spell. This is send 3 shot on a single target? or one shoot hit multi-target?

So if its one shoot hit multi-target, we not should use it with single target?

Why would I want aggro, thats what my pets for. I read this skill is good in stances to bulk up the dps your already doing to mobs.

After I got this skill I tried it out on some boars and I don't understand the advantange to this skill. Also, I can't select more then one target. How do I select 3 targets at once? Why would I want 3 mobs after me?

Maby if u attack lower lvl mobs and add up the xp u get from all of them its more than just kill 1 mob your lvl
so u do the math

This is an "instant" cast shot, and fires independantly from autoshot and aimed shot/arcane shot.

If there are more than one mob within range, it will hit the one you target plus 2 random mobs in range (Given there are 2 or more others. If only one, then that one will get hit).
This is useful if you want to draw agro from one or two attackers of your pet and to you.

If you are only fighting one mob, this is just a way to turn your mana into extra damage.

Typically: Send pet in, hunters mark, Aimed shot, auto, multi, auto, auto, aimed....and so on.
The amount of auto between multi and aimed will depends on your weapon speed.

so far I can't find a good use for this skill. It doesn't seem to do extra damage to 1 target, and if you've got 3 mobs aggro'ed against you, chance are, you're in deep !@#$ already. This isn't a skill that would be used if things are going right, and I don't know anyone who would purposefully aggro more mobs than they have to as a hunter.

I don't have this skill, but druid in bear form gets swipe, which hits 3 targets (u don't choose, just 3 in front of u) for some dmg. i think the multishot just picks 3 targets within a small radius of your target and damages them all. atleast thats how the swipe works, just w/ extra range. u could use it in dungeoms, in combination w/ mages and other area effect spells, u can damage groups pretty effectively, w/o having to pick 1 off at a time.
