An absolute MUST for the grinding Warlock!

When farming it's wisest to let your pet kill a diffrent mob than you're atacking. But, when you didn't touch the monster your pet is pulverising (or getting pulverised by), you will not gain XP nor get the chance to loot!

Simply pop up your corruption (let your pet aggro first!), then let your little minion plumb them! Meanwhile you can kill something else.

2 kills for the time of 1.

In our universe, where time is money (gold?) you will earn moar in less time!

There's supposedly a new ability (currently marked to be the final Affliction talent, like UA is now) coming out in WotLK called "Haunt" that works kind of like a mix between Drain Life and a Shaman's Chain Lightning.
The description as stated from http://wotlkwiki.info/index.php/Warlock :

"You send a corrupted soul into the target, doing 800 damage over 2 sec. Haunt will continue to travel between targets who suffer from your Corruption spell. After traveling from up to three targets, the corrupted soul will return to you, healing you for 50% of the total damage done.
(1 Rank, 650 Mana, Instant, 30 sec Cooldown, 40 yd Range)"

Corruption's gonna be a LOT more useful in the expansion with this spell (not that it wasn't already good).

Hopefully they decide to leave this spell in when WotLK is released, and they decide to LEAVE IT ALONE.

"The Siphon Life spell has been removed. Siphon Life now causes your Corruption spell to instantly heal you for 40% of the damage done."

So basically what this is saying is, no they didn't nerf the 700 a tick siphon life down to 400, but instead 700 down to ZERO. YAY, OFCOURSE, how could blizzard live without nerfing the lowest dps class in the game right now and buffing the highest dps classes. And to think I ever imagined they would give warlocks something nice for a change... yay time to put my warlock back in the garage and lvling a pally.

Also For All those DPS freaks that love to test DPS on Dummies:

this Spell is by far the most Efficcient to test a weapon u just picked up, just cast a Corruption cast on a dot and see the DMG, let it run then equip ur new weapon and cast Corruption, which ever wep inc ur DoT's will inc ur DPS (hard to test with CoA cuz of different ticks, same with nukes how the get affected by Crits)

Corruption ticks will always tick the same or 1 or 2 more/less dmge there for its ez to see ur SP increase/decrease.

I have no idea why there is all this QQ. I think this is a GREAT change. Now I don't even have to cast Siphon Life to get even more life drain off an opponent. Especially in bgs. Corruption spam on about 5 enemies combined with Nightfall. Thats ALOT of easy healing and free shadow bolts.

once you reach lvl 4 and get this ability there's no looking back 10dmg per 3 seconds is alot in a starting zone

Refreshes with every Drain Soul, Drain Life, and Haunt due to Everlasting Affliction. Now that every refresh takes into account spellpower and haste at that point in time, you can't just cast Corruption when your trinket procs, but a valid game mechanic is crit rating sticking from the original cast, so popping Nevermelting Ice Crystal before your initial Corruption with guarantee an extra 20.04% crit chance on every Corruption crit for the remainder of the fight, assuming you don't let it fall off before your 3 min trinket is ready again. In fact Elitist Jerks declares Nevermelting Ice Crystal as the 3rd best Affliction trinket in the game, above 258 Reign, 264 Muradin's Spyglass and 264 Phylactery. 1337!(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##Kangi##DELIM##

Only if you spec to a high Desto. build and nightfall to boost.
The lower level allows for nightfall and slaps a DoT on annoying rogues. Besides, you don't depend on the DoT damage in you spec heavy into you Direct Damage Spells, a la Shadow Bolt, Shadow Burn.
Thats my 2 cents.

No, the point of this spell is to be a quick DOT. Especially quick if you get it to instant cast with talents. Why use the lowest rank of the spell when the highest one gives much more damage?

That's hitting the nail on the head.It's nice because you can have immolate+curse of agony+corruption on a beast/demon etc. and have them feared before they can even touch you. In BG it's usefull to be able to do this while running after someone.

Did I hear right? 'It's not worth putting all five points into'? It has been pointed out that insta cast makes it so you can move while casting, huge in pvp, and great if you want to buy a little more time for your dots to sap, since you can back away while insta casting.

1.5 sec cast is the same as cooldown? so what? insta cast means that you will tick 1.5 seconds SOONER, which means your damage comes sooner. With dots, time is EVERYTHING. The sooner your first tick comes, the better.

Go 5/5 if your going full affliction, because theres some useless talents in the lower tiers, and it's better to talent this than something like improved curse of weakness

I'm a 70 destruction/afflicion warlock. The affliction tree is where most of my damage comes from. to say that affliction spells suck because they take so long to kill them, i shoul just slap you now. do you have any idea why warlocks have DoT's, Why warlocks have FEAR, and Why, oh god, WHY! do warlocks have high stamina instead of intellect.

Well let me tell you. Warlocks can have about 5 to 6 instant cast spells in thier arsenal. That means you can cast while moving, cast while running backwards, cast with your eyes closed WHATEVER!. What that means is that you can do this

now that you have your dots on those people, or baddies, what you can do is start using those things i like to call "Torcher spells" which means :

Immolate,incinerate, conflagrate

I'm a 30/0/31 spec warlock.

Which means my arsenal is full of instant casts, and i can dominate anyone at a moments glance. Most warlocks thing they are gods, in truth, all they do is strike "FEAR" into the hearts of men. Did you not notice that i dont use fear, yes its true, i dont. To most warlocks, it sounds obsurd, but let me ask you this, would you rather spend 200 mana fearing them, which could break at any moment due to dots" or would you rather stack affliction affects and use drain life.

one of the main reasons i dont use fear is because of its inability to be trustworthy. It could break at a moments glance. and id rather not spend the 1.5 seconds casting a spell that could just get broken anyway.

So what i do. Is exactly what warlocks should do. kill MULTIPLE TARGETS. thats what warlocks are for... notice the first part of thier name "WAR" they are meant to be in battle. You wont see a warlock standing back in the battle casting greater heal..... oh no, a warlock should be in the middle of the battle causing as much havoc and destruction as he can. a warlock thats in the middle of the battle jumping around casting instant casts is less likely to get killed then standing in the back where he can easily be picked off by mages and hunters.

a warlock in the middle of a battle is hard to find as well be cause the only thing you see on your screen are dots, but they the time you find the warlock he already has immolate on you, you decide its time to end this, so you finish the little guy of with an instant shadowbolt ( due to the fact that you should be spamming corruption so nightfall can proc like a $%^&*),an instant shadowburn, and another instant cast known as conflagrate. GG. Warlocks are not the most overpowered class just because they have fear

warlocks are the most overpowered class because thier capacity to stay alive in the fray of a battle. you ever notice how hard it is to kill a warlock while he fears, at least you can die saying "well he feared me, nothing i can do to fight it"
imagine dieing by a warlock when all he uses is instant casts, and hes right beside you..... i dare you to say he feared me... i dare you, but if you did i wouldnt blame you, a warlock in your face is scary....

let me let you in on a little secret...... USE TRINKETS, UCE RACIAL ABILITIES ( if your undead at least) there are so many ways to get out of fear is rediculous.

warlocks may be the most overpowered class in the game. but, they are clothies, and if you think warlocks are overpowered, wait till deathknights come out.... oh boy....i cant wait to post next.

Corruption is your best friend on the BGs (well..on top of fear, curse of ex, curse of tongues, and every other spell in the warlocks arsenal). The thing is, this one ticks the hardest. Corruption is the hardest ticking dot in the warlock arsenal. Curse of agony doesnt tick as hard for the last tick as corruption does for every single tick. However, its damage is less than curse of agony and its duration is less than 1/2 that of agony. This makes it an awesome dot to hit the opponent with if they are going to die soon or you just want to deal some quick damage. If you get empowered corruption, it can actually overtake every other dot a warlock has. AND IT CAN BE AN INSTANT CAST! :o
Usually, this is how i dot mobs.
Siphon life, curse of agony, unstable affliction, corruption.
If its 2 mobs, do the above 4 to one mob and siphon life corruption to the other.

If i go into the BGs, if im going to die, i toss corruption on everyone around.
