This daily is given by Ruberick at Therazane's Throne. I only was able to get it when i hit revered reputation with Therazane!

Earthmender Norsala is in a cave, entrance is at 68,28 where you'll find here.

If she's not just inside the entrance someone has already started it, you can join their group and on the kill you get credit for speaking to her as well as the kill, otherwise you have to wait for them to finish and she'll respawn in 30 seconds of them finishing it.

See if I can't summarize everything.

Given by Ruberick inside Therazan'e Throne at 60,14. This daily version is available once you're revered with Therazane. Due to phasing, you cant complete this daily while you have Wrath of the Fungalmancer in your quest log. After the last hotfix it appears Wrath of the Fungalmancer may be a pre-requisite.

Cave entrance is at 69,29. Once inside Earthmender Norsala is at 70,32. Being the NPC for both the normal and daily quest she is frequently gone. The event takes around two minutes to complete depending on the DPS of whomever is on it. While you're waiting for her to respawn you'll be kept in combat by the Fungal Horrors that spawn.

Those who are complaining that they can't see the daily: There is a random factor with the Therazane dailies, like the Oracle/Frenzyheart in WotLK. Some NPCs will offer the same daily each day, while others offer random ones. If you can't do Glop, Son of Glop today, check tomorrow, then the next day, then the next day. I've done Therazane dailies for the last three days (two of which were at Revered) and I've only just seen this one for the first time.

....now, if only Earthmender Norsala would move. :\

You can tell if it is bugged as the Earthmender is just stood at the start of the run next to Glop (rather than in the tunnel where she should be). You cannot interact with her and Glop is not attackable.

The odd thing was, I just saw one group kill the friendly NPC using mushrooms which started her fighting them - after she repopped, they were able to start the quest. The next group were able to do it as well.

Glop then respawned without the Earthmender and ran off up the tunnel alone, so the next person to tag him had to kill him solo, but after that, she respawned in the tunnel and someone started the quest ok.

Glop then respawned (alone) and ran off again. I followed him up (no Earthmender) and he was at the first corner of the tunnel waiting to be attacked. I eventually killed him after he moved along the tunnel and got the achieve linked to this quest even though I got hit by boomshrooms twice. After I was running back to the entrance, he was running up the tunnel again, this time with a player and the Earthmender.

It seems a rather extreme and bugged way of doing it but maybe it will work for you.

~~Note though: The quest needs you to talk to the Earthmender as well as kill him so I couldn't complete the quest till she respawned.~~ Edit - they changed the quest so it's just a kill now.

FWIW I got the quest only after hitting revered.

There is also the usual problem of too many people trying to do the quest and of course, no-one will wait their turn. What is it about wow that turns people into such impatient types?

Two of my glitched encounters and solutions:

1. Can't talk to Earthmender Norsala
Solution: Stand by shrooms until they kill her (this will reset the encounter)

2. Norsala Does not spawn.
Solution: Kill Glop to reset the encounter

I tried to complete this daily 4 times today. Each time the event functioned normally but I did not receive credit for the kill, only talking to Earthmother, so I had to abandon the quest and fly back to retake it.

Each time, the objective even popped up onscreen "Fungalmancer Glop Slain: 1/1"

What does the quest text mean by "He his grave hubris, he named it Glop"? doesn't sound like a real sentence to me.

Having just got this achievement and also missing it one time , the only thing that i can see that was different between the attempts was that i talked to the Earthwarder Narsala, and went through it all. Not following along with someone elses attempt, when i didn't get it the try before i abandoned it and picked it up again

Along with the practical problems with this quest let me, as an old English major, note that the fuzzy thinking that's caused problems with the quest starts with the text of the quest itself.

Glop had a son. He his grave hubris, he named it Glop. And so the line of fungalmancers continues.

I require you to slay this new fungalmancer. Your shaman ally has already returned, and awaits you at his cave in the southwest of Verlock Stand.

There are both grammatical and punctuation errors but the second sentence is incoherent and there are two cases of improper pronoun usage. I think that the writer at Blizzard, with a good night's sleep, less alcohol, fewer "energy drinks" or all three probably meant to write the following:

Glop had a son. In his great hubris he named this son Glop also. Thus the line of fungalmancers continues.

I require you to slay this new fungalmancer. Your shaman ally has already returned to aid you. She awaits you in Glop's cave southwest of Verlock Stand.

For those of you experiencing this quest bugging out and not being completeable- I was grouped with a random lock today who did get credit, after I failed to get credit 2 days in a row, after dropping/retaking the quest, doing in groups/solo on my druid... he told me to log out and exit wow completely, delete my cache folder and restart.

When I logged back in it showed the quest completed.

Finally.

Seems to work fine by now, i just did it and got the achivement Fungalophobia with it.
Just wanted to add that the cave can be found, for u who dont use this map numbers, in Verlok Stand. Very easy quest, yes...

This quest is so badly bugged in so many ways they probably should just take it out of the game until they fix it, but that won't happen.

Today my problem was with Glop evading and then despawning near the end of the fight. In past tries he would disappear and reappear partway back up the cave passage with his hp bar still set where it was before he disappeared, and I could just pick up where we left off. Today was different. He despawned completely, along with his portrait, and reappeared at the starting point with his hp reset at 100%. I also noticed Norsala was nowhere around during the fight because I wasn't getting her heals.

I finally figured out he was despawning because someone else had entered the cave and restarted the event before I could finish it. Here's what I think happened: Norsala reset and went back to her spot at the beginning, which made it possible for someone else to restart the event while I was still in the middle of it.

Until this is fixed, if this happens to you I recommend waiting to start the event until you have at least 1 other player with you. That way, at least that person won't restart it before you're finished. You'll also kill him faster with 2 or 3 players, hopefully before Norsala decides to reset herself.

Since 4.3, this quest bugs on me every single time (and I do it every day for the reputation and gold). I never had a problem with it before, but I sent in a ticket about it.
What happens is, I get to the second "confrontation"--where you attack him at the second stop he makes--and he will either A) evade, and the entire quest will reset and I have to start over (I just run back and talk to Norsala again, because she has already respawned and had reset with Glop), or B) run through the walls of the cave somewhere where I have to find him and kill him.
One time, though, he just completely stopped at the second "confrontation", stopped attacking and everything, but wasn't evading, and just let me kill him.

By the way don't worry if you don't get the achievement after defeating him. I didn't get it until I turned in the quest despite the wording in the achievement implying you get the achievement just for defeating him without getting hit by the boomshrooms.
