"I know NOZING!" was the idiom of the blundering German prison guard, Sergeant Schultz, in the famous 60s sitcom Hogan's Heroes.

The quest is named after a hit 60s movie. The Great Escape, about an attempt by Allied POWs to escape a German WWII prison camp.

The quest itself is based off the real-life unlucky escape of "Der Fuhrer" from an attempted assassination by his own generals, who secretly hated him, when he happened to be protected from an exploding suitcase by the heavy oaken table he was sitting on the far side of. "Der Fuhrer" reacted with characteristic egoism and paranoia.

After the failed assassination, "Der Fuhrer" had many of his surviving generals killed and replaced with cronies.

After almost dying and dying to the super-fast respawns, I think the best way to go about this is either
1) Join a group with someone else on the boat
2) Fight near the end of the boat, opposite the captain, and fight one at a time
3) Fight near the edge of the boat so you can quickly jump into the water when you're about to die

If you do prefer to do this solo, given the respawn rates and tiny spaces, if you do get overwhelmed, simply hop off the side of the boat. They will not chase you unless you climb onto a dock. Once you drop aggro, make sure you're on the surface of the water, mount your flyer, head back to a better position :)

at 25,68 in Uldum there are 3 ships, kill the sailors and loot the uniforms. drops about 1/3. there are also captains on each ship to kill for another quest.

This quest is annoying. Took like half an hour to do with the ridiculously slow respawn rate and low drop rate of the uniform. Not to mention that I died from getting adds.

Missed Me By Zhat Much! must be completed before this quest is available. You'll have to work through the quest series in this area before you get to this one.

Just completed the quest and had to kill 12 of them to get the 6 uniforms (50%). Also, adding my voice to the "respawn is too slow" chant. The captains on the other hand, respawn rather quickly, so get off of that upper deck quick.

Be careful when you do this quest if you fly out to land on the ships. There are three crewmen on the deck of every ship. All three aggro on you the minute you land on deck.

As a druid, i could go bear form and tank the three, but non-tank classes watch out.

Best way to start is land on the very rear corner of the deck, where the captain is. He will aggro immediately, but it's a single mob, not three.

Once the captain is dead, move off the rear deck as soon as you can and take one of the crewmen for the six Fresh Sailor Uniforms you need for "The Great Escape" quest (see link above). You need to get off that rear deck fast to avoid the Captain re-spawn, because he pops back up almost as soon as you kill him.

I had to clear all the crewmen on all three ships to get the six uniforms - there are a few crew inside the ships too.

I was okay with the low respawn because I went after the three in the hold, and wasn't looking forward to meeting the trouble twins again when I emerged.

Land right in front of the foremast (behind the mast at the end farthest away from the captain as you board amidships--the railing is OK; it's a small space) and get the guy standing right near it--he noticed me when I landed on the rail; had to tap him otherwise.

After that his pals can be pulled one at a time. I do agree that the drop rate was ridiculously and frustratingly low.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the fact that there is a 68% chance to get the item, even though It's obvious every sailor is wearing a uniform...

I've cleared each boat twice now, including the sailor right inside the doorway on deck. Still only have two uniforms at the moment. Popped over to Wowhead to see if there was some trick I was missing. Apparently not. It's just a really awful drop rate from scarcely available mobs, and then I happen to hit a bad RNG run as well. *SIGH*

Edit: After a third run of the boats, I got the sixth uniform off the next-to-last sailor.

Rediculous drop rate for something such as a uniform which apparently only 1 in 7 wear. Ive completed dungeons in less time.
