First kill Twilight Spearwarders for Twilight Caravan Key, then use the key on the box in the caravan at 25, 38 for Twilight's Hammer Gatestone

Can anybody tell me how to start this quest, more specifically what quests lead to this. From the information it starts from the npc, "Patch," but when I flew over the area last night I didn't see a quest or this npc, although being a goblin I might have missed him, but that doesn't explain why I didn't see the quest on the minimap. So, what quest do I have to do to unlock this quest/npc?

To get this quest you must complete the quests at The Maw of Madness, and after that Vermillion Redoubt. Eventually they will send you to Patch.

What an extremely frustrating quest. Everything has an insane spawn timer, so there is zero time to clear all the mobs and open the caravan if you happen to be unlucky enough to try to do this while no one else is around. The goblins are of no help at all since they conveniently do not shoot at the mobs surrounding the caravan and if you pull them, the goblins will not be of any help killing the mobs. The mobs crit for an insane 7k, which gives you only a few seconds of irritation before they eventually murder you.

I waited for a few minutes before a handful of people came to the area. If you are attempting this a few months or a year into Cata, you might be out of luck.

I found the cargo chest on a violet covered wagon (25.58, 37.91). Then from the rock where the Bligewater marksmen were shooting, I pulled each of the Twilight Spearwarders guarding the chest using my crossbow and proceeded to take them down when they climbed the rock with the help of the marksmen. I did this till one of them dropped the caravan cargo key. I then pulled and killed the rest of the Spearwarders to free up the wagon (don't worry about the ones that are currently engaged with the Axebite NPC's). Do this quick enough before they respawn. I then flew my mount to the wagon and opened the chest to grab the Gatestone and re-mounted.

I got the key from a Spearwarden, not the Spearwarder. Then I was able to run between all the mobs & get the gatestone & run out without fighting any more mobs.

I just did this as alevel 85 mage. I had to die once. First get the key by killing mobs till it drops. Then AoE the area around the purple wagon to draw the mobs. Then pop mirrors and dash over to the wagon and click on the gearwheel. Die. Turn in quest. Simple! I have no idea how most classes are going to solo this the respawn rate is very high

You can kill the guys and get the key without any problems. After you have the key fly to the other side of the firewall behind the purple caravan, you can run back through the fire, stun and grab the hammer stone thingamajig and run back through the fire. If you don't get it they stop following there anyway so try again.

This quest is a lot easier if you approach the caravan from the rocky outcropping at 26,37. There are two marksmen there who will attack anything that comes within melee range.

Grab the npcs surrounding the caravan one by one. They will not pull in a group, making life much easier.

All this assumes that you have the key first!

Are all the spearwarders lootable or just the lucky one with the key ? its not letting me loot for some reason, and i've killed thousands.

Retrieve a Twilight Caravan Gatestone. The Spearwardens should carry keys that can get you into the gatestone chests.

Description

The gates further down the canyon are shut. Our scouting revealed some kind of stone that they carry in chests in their caravans that they use to open the gates.

Get down there and look for a chest key on the bodies of the guards. When you find it, use it on one of those chests on the caravan wagons and bring the gatestone back to me.
