I know it's kinda the point, but this guy is really really tough on heroic.

His Throw ability hits for about 30k, mines hit for about 25k each. He throws 5-10 mines at a time.

His shockwaves don't seem particularly dangerous, just move away when he starts them.

I can't say how hard his melee hits, but it seems to be around 15-20k per hit on plate, based on how fast the tank's health bar emptied.

Basic tactics on heroic.
Don't stand in the yellow circles
Don't stand on an activated mine(middle glows yellow)
Don't stand in the shockwave

Kite the boss out of all mines, dodge shockwave
Profit.

Just tanked this on heroic 3 days after expac came out. This dude hits HARD. EVERYONE needs to watch out for !@#$ on the ground. I found it helpful to kite him around while avoiding the yellow spots on the ground.

I healed this fight on heroic earlier today, it seems tough but fair.

Group: Warrior (Tank), Paladin (Healer), SPriest, DK, Warlock

I recommend clearing at least the one trash pack on the other side of the boss so your tank can keep the boss moving. Nobody should be getting hit with Shockwave, it's pretty obvious where it will be. Getting hit by a mine is probably death, since they knock you around, potentially onto other mines. We lost our SPriest early in the fight this way.

Healers definitely be judicious with your mana.

His name (Husam) is Arabic in origin, it means sword.

Be sure to kill the trash on both sides of Husam before, as you might need all of that room available.

Normal mode:
Husam needs to be tanked and kited around, but be careful when going behind the pillars as they can cause a line-of-sight issue. The traps that drop have a small radius of effect, but are painful. Be especially careful when they light up and even more careful when the ground effect around them shows up - they will explode soon.

These yellow traps are thrown all over the place.

Every 20 seconds, Husam casts bad intentions, grabs someone, impales them for about 30k damage, then throws them away. Be sure to have at least that much health on everyone or the person impaled will die.

Heroic mode:
Bad intentions is closer to 45k damage, and can go on any non-tank. The traps are cast on each player and come more often, and last longer. Be ready to move quite a bit.

This boss is abit tricky, imo the hardest one in here, atleast on heroic (from my point of view as a tank) we had a pretty good healer though.

After several deaths because of the landmines and with normal camera angle i tried to change the angle to look at my self from above (scroll out) then just pull him around dodging the mines easily.

He tosses you around though, but if you got him dragging around through the mines, this should not be a problem.

You can end up being really unlucky by being chucked into the wall, landing on a mine, and then being tossed into another mine.

I've seen it happen a lot!

I would like to state for the record that I forgot to read up on this guy before my first run in this instance. As a result, I didn't know that he spawns landmines that cause massive damage. Both times I've helped down him, I was dead at the end of the fight (was a DPSer, so not as big a loss, thankfully).

For tanks, if you stand on the steps facing out you limit the mines that land in your way as they are planted by the dps. The dps and healer need to be on their toes but you receive virtually no damage. This also avoids the explosions. The only set back is moving for the shockwave, but it's easy to see where it will land.

This bonehead LUV'S squishies...I've "Look Ma I Can Fly" with a permanent imprint of rocks in my nose everytime I get into this encounter. Long story short..stay between the circles. Goes along the same lines of if you see fire get out of it. Caster's you will be running, priests dot (or spam the pain) and hop while your running to get your mastery to kick in. He gets out of LOS constantly I found if you run the opposite direction to where he's headed and stay between the bombs and circles you get more time to actually cast. (He runs to the right of the pileon's "most" of the time when he's darting to and fro to kiss your tank) so intercept to the left and lay it on him as he comes around the corner.
S-Priests if your instant spelling him as he's running around a pileon when he comes around your ready to lay on the flay, etc. You'll probably still end up the object of his "throwing" affection just stand in the bushes at the bottom of the rocks for a minute to shake your marbles back into place because he's already moving out of your LOS and you're going to have to go around the opposite way to catch back up with him, (Also the circles and bombs don't always land that close to the rocks he just chunked you like a rag doll against so you won't always get blown up on top of it). If your tank is kiting him left to right and around like he/she should be...then happy kill time.

You guys know that feeling when you're barely in the radius of one of his mines, which blasts you into another mine which then in turn, blasts you into one last mine and you die?

This fight is awful for melee DPS. Don't be surprised if you spend more time being thrown, dodging shockwaves, and dodging mines, than you do actually attacking the boss. For melee DPS, there's a lot of waiting involved in this one.

He seems to have another ability that is not listed here. I don't know what its name is, but it seems to cause feral druids to disconnect mere moments after the loot window opens.

This fight has its laughs and giggles. Very first time I did (Im feral cat) this with a guild mate (tank) all was going well until he threw his traps down ALL around me...I had no room to move unless I wanted to take the damage from stepping on a mine. Shortly after he starts to cast Shockwave and wouldnt you know it one of the paths was aimed right at me...So I said screw it I tried to leap out of the way but got caught in a mine explosion and was shot over to another one....and another one...then finally a 4th one where it finally killed me...yea fun fight lol

I really hate this fight as a healer, since tanks kite the boss around the pillars and often breaks LoS.
Did it not long ago with my holy priest and got smashed into one of em, while tank brought boss around the corner of the other pillar and died when I couldn't get in LoS again fast enough :(

To be honest, I think the most frustrating thing on this fight is being able to be killed by -other- people. Especially if you're melee.

The explosion radius is larger than the step-on-to-activate radius, so even if you find yourself a "safe spot" where you can still dps, someone can run by and knock you around.

You're also in range of explosions while affected by Bad Intentions (picked up, but not thrown yet). My mage died to that today, picked up, melee ran across bombs, thrown, dead.

This boss can be easily soloed on HM, I soloed him yesterday as a blood dk with mostly 378 gear.

All I had to be alert for was..

- the location of the mines
- the pathways of his shockwave
- timing to use anti magic shell when he does his quick attack
- when death strike CD was up

I only had Flask of Steelskin and dk buffs, and the fight went rather smoothly.

Good news, this boss can be soloed on heroic mode, but not on a blood dk!

Today I soloed him, as a 386 bear, in 7 min and 40 sec, and it was rather difficult.

Things I needed to be aware of were....

-not stepping in mines
-not being in the range of mines when General Husam casts "Detonate Traps"
-not being in the burrowed ground marks when he casts "Shockwave"
-not letting him attack me when out of bear form and healing

Those 4 bullets don't seem too difficult to follow, but the hardest part was keeping my hp up.

Here is how I kept my hp up..

-Relying on Leader of the Pack heals, (heals you when you crit for 4% of max hp, no more than once per 6 sec)

But that just wasn't enough, I noticed my hp depleting rather quickly.

*When General Husam uses Shockwave he just stands there and casts, therefore I only needed to avoid that and the traps at that time to take no damage. After running to a safe location, I used rejuvenation and lifeblooms (usually 3 stacks). By the time he reached me, I was safely in bear form with Hots on myself which prevented my hp from depleting, and my hp was staying around a constant percentage, (about 85%).*

The only two buffs I had were Mark of the Wild and Darkmoon Firewater.
