They should have kept the "deals almost no damage to the attacker" just for fun, tho.

something is not right... Impatience of Youth is only 359 epic and provides much more str - 1605 for 20! seconds on same 2-minutes cd. and i don't rly think that 82 mastery rating , even reforged to best for one stat, can make it up. i'm too tired now to look for stat weight and calculate that properly...

seems it's fixed - 1 minute cd instead of 2. that's average 319str/minute while Impatience of Youth 267str/minute

still, not a big upgrade and would be usable only on fairly long fights - over 1 minute or boss encounters. it is better, but nothing great really. best for warriors i guess as they use mastery quite a bit. dks or paladins simply don't.

Nice trinket for every plate DPS class, Frost DKs should get the most out of it through combining it with Pillar of Frost

The original Essence of the Pure Flame was a trinket so terrible it cried itself to sleep at night and hoped it might one day be disenchanted and used to create usable loot.

Seems it grew out of that phase and put on some decent stats, though.

Dks do, in fact, use mastery, at least frost. With the resent buff to mastery moves and the 4.2 nerf to strength moves, frost uses more mastery by the minute.

Keep in mind that 2/3 frost main attacks scale only on mastery and not on strength.

This is also perfect for Frost DKs in a sense that we can line up the trinket with every use of Pillar of Frost for a big strength boost.

If (ret) I had to choose between this and impatience, I'd probably get impatience because 2 min cd and 20 sec duration coincides with all my major CDs, and that's when I get most of my damage out. That said, khaz'goroth is just so much better, and having 2 on use trinkets is no good.

This is a great trinket for plate tanks on Alysrazor, especially heroic mode. You get a nice burst CD for every add without giving up mitigation.

Ask Mr Robot says this is one of the worst trinkets a Fury Warrior can have, but I beg to differ. I had Apparatus and LtS and ditched the LtS for Eternal Flame and holy cow, I went from being number 5-7th highest dmg on most fights to number one in my 25m raiding guild. Because Fury is so burst heavy, having two Use trinkets gives an unparalleled level of control. It's funny because for the past two years of raiding I've refused to ever own a Use trinket because it is one more thing to manage, but now, other than the fact that my damage output is insane, I actually find it fun to micro manage my trinkets.

For the Fury warriors out there, some tips:
Burn CDs together, and burn first round near beginning of battle. Waiting for hero is nice and all, but a dps loss when you miss popping 6 trinkets and two Death Wishes in a battle waiting
Set up power Auras and know your fight. With this trinket equipped, my CD rotation ends up looking like this: Once tnak gets good amount of threat, I pop DW, Reck, AoK, and Eternal Flame (sometimes, like on Domo I use pot right now too). Now hit CS+HS, BT, RB, BT, Battle Shout if you have 2p bonus. At this point every damage increasing ability is active and your numbers are going to shock and awe. Now just pay attention to CDs and use when they are up, trying to align as many as possible. For example, DW is 2.4 min CD, whereas AoK and Flame are on the even minutes. Well it's best to wait the .4min and use all three together than the two trinkets first then DW later.

I apologize for suggesting to you guys how to play your class, it's jsut that my mind was blown by this trinket in addition to everything else in my set up. I'm going to tryt o never ever going back to Equip trinket, because Use are just so much more fun. Ignore Mr Robot and get this trinket ASAP!

I picked it up on my Frost Dk last night, been tinkering with it but I just cant see replacing my heart of rage, I want to... but even after lining up the cooldowns properly Heart of Rage still out performs for me.

I am going to hang on to it though, maybe they will actually fix it, as it stands heart of rage is still BIS for me for frost DW.

Well, if blizzard refuses to give tanks pure mastery trinkets with a decent on-use effect, I guess we have to improvise, no?

As stated, this is a very good tanking trinket. The mastery is awesome and the on-use effect is pretty sweet. I macro'd the trinket to my Holy Shield so every 2 shields I use this trinket, pretty much on cooldown.
It gives me some useful aggro at the start of the fight and a little over 1% parry chance for 15 seconds out of 60.

I bet we'll finally see some awesome tanking trinkets in 4.3 when getting block capped won't be an issue anyway because of the base higher level of gear. At that point we will probably be wishing for stamina trinkets to be back..

When you factor in Pillar of Frost and if you use both every time they are up, this trinket comes out ahead of Darkmoon Hurricane.
