Unlike the other skill 450 Cataclysm recipes, this one is +90 to stamina and its respective stat which, in this case, is mastery. Likely a bug, since Salted Eye is also mastery, also 450 skill required, and only +60. Assuming Blizzard doesn't retroactively remove it should its skill requirement change, it might be worth learning this before it's fixed, to get a leg up on the better food.

Perhaps the 90/90 buff from this dish isn't a bug, but related to where the fish is from, your going to have to be 83 to get to deepholm. Also keep in mind tha 90 mastery rating at 83 is no where near as good it was at 80.

I think we can safely say comparing the two recipes at 450 everyone will be using the 90 mastery rating instead of the 60

This recipe is the only one that allows one to skill up all the way from 450 to 525, which is nice if you want to do it fast and have access to a large quantity of Lavascale Catfish.

It now requires 500 cooking to learn. However, those who bought it before Dec. 7th, 2010, and learned it, will still be able to cook it under 500.

I know this because I bought the recipe yesterday, learned it, and can now cook it, with only 450 cooking.

Until the block cap this is the Best in slot food for all shield tanks and probably for Deathknights too. Druids, however, will want the agility from other recipes.

its no gltich at all, the salted eye is 60 stam 60 mastery, the lavascale is 90

What's confusing about this recipe is that it's not located at the last or second to last page of the items that vendors sell. I had to fly into Undercity before I realized that it was in the middle of the 60/60 recipes, instead of the 90/90 recipes, which is naturally the first place I looked for.
