All over Deepholm, but I found that it has a huge concentration at the Silvermarsh (in the far east of Deepholm). Being the only Herbalist there, they were respawning faster than I could pick them.

Information:

The herb itself is quite difficult to find due to the environment of deepholme. There's lots of hills and cliffs so you'll be constantly flying up and down. There's no specific location of node for this as opposed to some spawning only near water. They are literally scattered around the whole zone. They are scarce, so when you find one, be sure to grab it.

I think they overnerfed it by a lot. You can sometimes fly around Deepholme for 20-30 minutes without finding any:(

The richest spot that I've found is Needlerock Chasm in Deepholm. There's a few spawn points there, intermingling with Cinderbloom spawns.

I collected a couple stacks today in maybe 30-45 minutes. I flew mostly around the outer rim, but there was some spread out in the inner part too. Certainly not a great spawn rate, but I was a little encouraged after reading about how tough it was to find.

Perhaps I was just incredibly lucky, but while leveling in needlerock chasm, i managed to fill two bags (20 slotters) full of Heartblossom and Cinderbloom. I went from 480 herbalism to 525. I went back an hour or two later, and three horde druids were camping the spawn points, so im obviously not the only one taking advantage of this area. Good luck!

The spawn rate in Needlerock Chasm seems to improve substantially if you've quested enough there to change phases. I turned a quest in, came back, and saw literally half a dozen nodes that weren't there two seconds prior. Several guildies seem to have experienced the same phenomenon. I noticed the phase shifting towards the end of the quest chain that begins in Stonehearth, around the time I was doing the quest to blow up the giant mushrooms in the chasm.

I've done every quest i can find in deepholm (including the quest to blow the mushrooms up) and i flew over Needlerock Chasm 4 times and even stayed there for 10 minutes and no nodes popped for me :*(

These don't spawn that fast and tend to sell for the most. When there aren't many up in the AH on my realm, people will pay over 16g each.

Ive found the best by just flying around the upper levels for Heartblossom and around the centre for Cinderbloom.

This doesn't seem to hold true from what I've experienced. I've found Cinderbloom and Heartblossom mixed regardless of the area in Deepholm. I also haven't found that there is a "method to the madness" in where this herb spawns. Today I was in The Pale Roost and I couldn't farm the herbs fast enough.....they just kept spawning everywhere. On other days I hardly find any, and I haven't really found there to be a particular place that has more than others. Certainly why the herb sells for so much! On Blackwing Lair I sold six stacks for 200g each....and that was undercutting others! Happy farming. :)

on al'akir currently a stack of heartblossom can sell for 300 - 390g depending on how many there is on AH and cinderbloom for 90g and that is undercutting a little bit.

I just noticed today that the price of this herb has increased tremendously, a stack is selling for 350G in my server, Ragnaros-EU atm, while i was leveling in deepholm on the second day of cata release, i found a spot on the east side , dont remember the name of the area, near the trogg crate quest, there literally was atleast 10 nodes at a time spawning in the area, i went to check it today, not a single node, either phased or heavily nerfed.

PS. This was after the huge herbs/mines nerf.

It's not a phasing issue. At launch and for 3 days or so after, you could easily herb continuously in a few areas (like the Silvermarsh) and never be able to pick all the herbs that spawned. The same was true to a lesser extent in Twilight Highlands, but they hotfixed it fairly quickly. In TH they made the spawn rate fairly reasonable, but they completely overdid the reduction in Deepholm, and now Heartblossom is a pain in the butt to get. Hopefully it gets patched back to a more reasonable level at some point in the near future.

For all those commenting on the fluctuating spawn rates, the reasons behind the varied reports are that spawn rates scale according to the number of players in a zone at a given time, So at launch, when EVERYONE was in deepholm etc, the spawn rates went through the roof on gathering nodes and monsters, as anyone who played launch day can tell you that they had to actively tag creatures for quests. This of course means that at the same time, later when the rush died down, the spawn rates dropped dramatically, to the levels you now experience.

They seem to have fixed the spawn rate.

Today I got 47 Heartblossom and about 25 Cinderbloom in one lap of Deepholm.

In contrast, over for the last couple of days I did 2 or 3 laps at a time and was lucky if I got 10 pieces.

Phasing Issue Confirfmed.
Questing in Deepholm I got to the point of saving that one stone dwarf guy from the funglemaster glop look-a-like after the chain quests for them (just before you get the blue axe) in the Needlerock Chasm area. It was phased to me and had a LOT of Heartblossom nodes. I got 2 stacks in just a few jaunts around that small area. I had a friend fly over and confirmed the phasing, which there were no nodes in his phase. Gathering my nodes didn't seem to effect his phase's nodes.

This area seemed to be the primary and only problem area, as with the other areas leading up to the final Therazane quests (the final revolution/combat events) didn't seem to affect any herb nodes I could find, cept for maybe one.

I don't know if they changed the spawn rate or if it was just good timeing. But i gathered 25 of these in less than 5 minutes this morning. They were abundant in Needlerock Chasm. Again,don't know if it was a fluke or what.But if you're struggleing to lvl your herb.Might be worth it to take a look here and there.

Theres alot of Heartblossom in Deepholm. Go from Needlerock Chasm down to Needlerock Slag, Stonehearth and The Quaking Fields. I pick up around 60 Heartblossom in less than 10 min, thats 3 stacks in less than 10 min. Thats my tip, i always go there and find alot of them.

Heartblossom appears to prefer flat, empty spaces to spawn in, but it also spawns in places where you'll be killing plenty of mobs for specific quests.

Phasing issue or not, I theorize that heartblossom nodes spawn more randomly than other herbs, possibly some experimental coding partially controlled by the dreaded RNG. This would explain heavy clusters that don't respawn.

Another explanation for the missing nodes is druids with Swift Flight Form.

Best place for this herb by a long shot.

In some places you could be seeing 4 yellow dots on your minimap. You pick 2, and see 1-2 new ones pop up while you are picking. It's crazy!

This green plant apparently grows deep underground, and with no sunlight.

I've been playing WoW since Vanilla. Believe it or not ... I also have a doctorate in botany. I've always been impressed with Blizz' attention to detail with the ecology of the plants in the game. Just like in RL, many of Azeroth's plants can predictably found in specific "habitats" like in the ocean, on the edge of lakes or in snowy areas. Previously, only fungi like ghost mushrooms or ancient Lichen were found indoors. These are both fungi (well lichen is half fungi) that don't necessarily need light to grow. This is a cool attention to detail that was probably lost on many players.

Whoever was paying attention to these environmental details must have quit for Cata. I can promise you that no plants can grow without sunlight. Heartblossom really should have been a mushroom.

This herb is literally EVERYWHERE in Deepholm. You can't fly more than a few yards without hitting another node. I just farmed about 20 stacks in one hour and I was looking for obsidium ore lol. Sunday evening and there is still a ton to gather. Amazingly this stuff sells really well in AH and is used for all high end pots and inscription inks. If you have a hard time finding it try a different time of day and I recommend using GATHERER add-on. Good luck.

Almost nobody farms these on my server, which makes for a pretty good moneymaker when I can be arsed to farm it myself.

Average sell price on my server is between 50-60g EACH herb (not stack), with the price capping at around 75g on Tuesday nights.

Average yield per node (without Bountiful Bags) has been 4.5 herbs per node (with an actual spread of 2-7 herbs per node, 4-5 herbs per node being most common).

After about 20 minutes, I had 3 stacks of Heartblossom, and hadn't even completed a full lap of Deepholm.

Edit: After one full "lap" of Deepholm, completed in approximately 40 minutes, I walked away with 12 stacks of Heartblossom. This is without Bountiful Bags perk. Time required for the lap is based on 310% mount, Mount Up guild perk, as well as with a few fights here and there where mobs were guarding my precious herbs.

I'm not sure if the spawn rate was fixed or if it never changed between release and 4.3, but as of today 12/30/11, I was able to go to the pale roost in deepholm and farm for 10 minutes. Here are my results:
57 Heartblossom
38 Cinderbloom
37 Volatile Life

If you're having troubles finding Heartblossom, my advice to you is to use gathermate2 (not gatherer) because you can download the library of nodes from curse, instead of having to rely on a friend to have the information available to you. If you like you can use the gatherer addon in tandem with gathermate2 to build up the database and eventually use the HUD. The second piece of advice I'd give to you is to watch how many poeple are there in the zone, if there are a lot then chances are you won't be able to find much, so wait until late at night or early in the morning before farming it.

Finally, if you have a map with all the nodes on it, you'll notice that the Heartblossom nodes are bunched up in 2 areas, these are Needlerock Chasm, and The Pale Roost, both areas are great places to farm, however, most of the rest of the Heartbloom nodes are in lines that you can follow pretty easily. Just make sure to stop every now and again, because sometimes if you go over too fast and your computer isn't so great, you might miss a couple of nodes.

Heartblossom at least in my experience was mostly a "milling" herb but it has risen in popularity since 4.3. Prior to that, its usage was pretty low in alchemy, its only corresponding flask is Flask of Flowing Water which is not an ingredient in either the 10 man or 25 man guild cauldrons. Some healers are now choosing this flask over Flask of the Draconic Mind , especially holy paladins, also in favor of better regen over longer fights (like Madness). Its price has gone up, and I think some herbalists are either no longer farming this late in the game, or were turned away from farming it since earlier in the expansion it was scarce. (after the TH and Deepholm "fix" about two weeks in) So it's a great money-maker, even now, and unlike places like Uldum there's less bots roaming Deepholm.

My favorite haunt for this is Needlerock Chasm (heartblossom will grow in the marshy area in the center, but it's mostly cinderbloom if you go near the edges) and the Pale Roost (not just the upper, but if you go down the hill a bit where the basilisks are you will find more nodes there). Also the Storm's Fury Wreckage has lots of nodes around it. If you don't need any Cinderbloom, avoid Deathwing's Fall. Success searching the other areas of Deepholm for me have been limited, but I'll fly around while I wait for my favorite spots to respawn.

When arriving in Deepholm, if you have Therazane rep, just take the portal to Therazane's Throne. From there you can fly west and begin going counter-clockwise immediately over the Pale Roost and Needlerock.

If you are trying to get this herb often go to Deepholm when you are level 82 then go to the top of the malestorm to get them, For someone who wants to keep track of where you have seen them spawn then I recommend the Gathermate on this website.

How to get easy and fast heartblossom stacks: go in the south-est, and in the east side of deepholme, and you find plenty of them near water. I got about 2 stacks in less than 30 minutes. Good luck!
