As you may have seen from the non-heroic version, this is most likely a tribute to Rand al'Thor, the main character from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series (which is awesome BTW, take a read; the first book is named The Eye of the World). RJ died before he could finish the series, but the final book (which is now going to be split into three books due to length) is being finished by Brandon Sanderson, who's doing a great job of it so far.

As you may ALSO have seen from the non-heroic version, the proc on this thing is insane.

This trinket has a terrible proc rate, and rarely yields more then 1-2% effective healing from druids. While I mention specifically the output from druids, its key to note that they are one of the few classes who literally blanket 25man raids with spells. If a druids effective healing from this is 1-2% there are far better choices out there. I'd recommend choosing a regen/mp5 trinket like Solace or Purified Lunar Dust then hoping the random 8k proc will contribute anything meaningful.

I pause, however, because if your mana is already managed well .... the 201 spellpower is definetly not something to scoff at.

Tested this trinket in Icecrown Citadel (10 player).

I played a Restoration Druid and this is what I concluded:

The crit chance of the healing proc appears to be tied to the crit chance displayed in the character screen.
The healing effect appears to scale with Spell Power, although, not by a lot. I did up to 14,000 crits with it, with around 3800 Spell Power and +6% healing received aura from Tree of Life.
It appears that the effect is smart-healing, meaning it automatically picks targets with low health (like e.i. Chain Heal, Circle of Healing and Wild Growth). I did 14% over-healing with this trinket.
The trinket was responsible for 0.6% of my total healing done over 6 hours of raiding.

In my oppinion the proc is nice-to-have, and nothing more.

I will test the trinket in ICC25 sunday and return with more information.

it goes from 2.5-5% of my healing , holy pala with 3197 spell power ub. Im guessing its more of a paladin trinket, works fine for me.

The proc is affected by MS effects and does a respectable 7-8% of healing for my druid in pvp (5v5s, 3s and bgs), where you're unlikely to be blanketing 15+ people with hots. It will heal people who are out of line of sight and need attention, etc, but it's not something to be reliably counted on to save a low HP teammate.

The internal cooldown on the proc, like a lot of other trinkets, is 45 seconds.
The heal is a smart heal.
For all practical purposes, it's a free instant Nourish/Flash of Light/Flash Heal/Lesser Healing Wave every 45 seconds.

Edit: With the advent of Ruby Sanctum, heroic Glowing Twilight Scale has become the trinket that offers the highest throughput for healers.

This trinket, in my opinion, is best in slot for a resto druid. with the 4 set T10 bonus, that's 2 smart heals, although the proc on 4set is only 2%, together they are amazing. Unless they somehow share an ICD, which I doubt.

The proc is indeed affected by MS effects...however, it is NOT affected by the divine plea healing reduction that paladins get while it is active :) found this out today when i had divine plea up and my FoL hot rolling, and it proced for a 12k heal.

Althor's Abacus did 2.5%(165hps) during my festergut fight, and only did 18% overheal, making it an effective 135hps. The trinket gives a smartheal(like Wild Growth). Outside of a raid I only have 19% crit(druid), raid buffed I'm unsure, but this trinket critted 29% druing a 6min fight. My total heal during the fight was 8145hps, but we still wiped on the enraged timer with 3-4 people dying during the fight. :P

As i was going over the forum here, there wasnt too much posted about resto shamans and this trinket. i have one, and it procs off chain heal, if it can proc off other HOT's and such as well, then i can only assume it would proc off of Trauma (Trauma) as well, can anyone confirm this for me?

Very good trinket as we always keep HoTs up so our healing spell is always healing. I just got this last night and is a really trinket.

Cast Ghost Wolf, it can proc.

Was preparing for an ICC25 last night. Dropped my totems and a nearby hunter eating a fish feast got a 16k heal. O.o

Wanted to add. For a shaman this will not proc Ancestral Fortitude. I just got it and found this while playing around.

Echos of Light also does not appear to proc off healing stream totem ticks, any totem casts, or water shield casts/refreshes anymore. I would venture these were removed when they patched VE off the trinket.

Does anyone think this is still a viable trinket for druids at 85? Seems like unless you level archeology you can only increase your int. Is that more important if you dont go oom? Just like to here thoughts on this? Or viable alternatives from heroics/raids that are better. Thanks guys

This trinket is the most powerful trinket for healers like paladin, shaman and priest (used by druids too) :) I just can't wait till' I get it on my dudu <3 By the way, about the proc, (Echoes of Light) DOES NOT depend of the Bonus Healing.
