Used to collect Lovely charms, makes me wonder what they're made of though...
Just having this in your inventory will let you sometimes create one by getting a killing blow. Needs to be able gran honor or Exp though. (Level in green and up)

Just fyi for you healers out there - you will not get any Lovely Charms if you aren't doing damage.

One of the best places to get these charms I've found is Heroic AN right after Hadronox. When you drop down the first hole, don't sprint for the second hole but simply hit an aoe. There are a lot of small mobs with 200hp who are hostile, and can be simply oneshot by holy nova or your aoe of choice. I was able to get 10 of the charms in one go. Keep your eyes peeled for small adds that us healers can destroy for easy charms.

Recent changes (Feb/09):

* Lovely Charms now stack to 40.
* Any player who has a Lovely Charm Collector's Kit in their bags now has a chance to receive a Lovely Charm when in a group or raid and a group member gets a killing blow as long as they are within a certain range of the kill.

i got over 70,000 charms from farming dwarfs in ulduar.

Shame they fixed it. oh well, at least i have a years supply of cologne now.

This will most likely be patched soon, but if you share the "A gift for the warchief" quest(A Gift for the Emissary of Orgrimmar) this box appears in the inventory of whoever accepts and they can slowly collect the charms even after Love Is In The Air. The box and the charms disappear after logging out for 15 minutes, such as conjured items, making this pointless in the way of selling. Still, it's fun to throw up in a trade window and be all "look what I got!"

I'm a lvl 42 pala and quite new to the game. might be a silly question but does it have to be humanoid mobs for the charm drops? and does anyone have any recommendations on a good location to farm mobs for the drops? thanks

Just a tip to add on to the "killing blow" requirement; just like healers will want to try and solo for this to ensure they get the last hit, hunters and warlocks (and other pet-owners) will also want to solo without their pets. I didn't get any charms until I dismissed mine.

For a mob (shorthand for monster or anything in the game you can kill really) to be Green, this means that when you click on it, the number representing its level must be any color other than gray. Gray mobs do not give experience, making them too easy to be a "worthwhile enemy" as the quest requires. As far as where you need to go and what to kill, just go as far as you need to until you find enemies whose levels are shown in any color other than gray; and they don't need to be humanoids to work. Best place to farm these is in Icecrown near the Conflagration, the patrolling packs of Converted Heroes. 50 charms in about 15 minutes of farming. Only annoying part is they slow you.

NEW LVL 85 FARM SPOT!

- Go to Icecrown

- Then to: The Conflagration (middle of the map)

- Fly around and look for the ''Converted Heroes'' packs

- Kill and you get many of these charms in NO time!

Notes:
They have 12-13k hp so they can be killed by any class!
They slow you, this can be annoying...

I have killed about 40-50 mobs and received no Lovely Charms but was getting trophies for Darkmoon Faire quest!

If you have Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide in your inventory and collecting Grisly Trophies for Test Your Strength quest, you will not recieve charms unless you delete your The Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide or keep it in your bank.

If carrying both the Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide and the Lovely Charm Collector's Kit, you will only get a Grisly Trophy and not a Lovely Charm with a qualifying kill. After you collect all 250 Grisly Trophies, however, Lovely Charms will automatically start to drop even with either the Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide still in your inventory or Test Your Strength quest not turned in.

Edit: Turns out this is only true with certain mobs. Some npcs will drop a Lovely Charm. You definitely can't get both a Charm and a Trophy from the same killing blow, but you can collect both on the run depending on what you kill.

Edit 2: Hotfix on 02-08-12 (http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/4023884): "Players now have the chance to receive both the Lovely Charm and Grisly Trophy from a single kill."

Looking like about a 10 to 20% drop rate on charms. Verlok stand in deepholm will keep you killing with no downtime.

Also, can't go wrong in Uldum at the Maker's ascent with a Potion of treasure finding. 10 mobs at a time with a respawn by the time you hit the bottom.

im killing greens and higher but they are not dropping any charms. they were earlier but not anymore, does anybody know why?

As a general rule, anything you can kill quickly and kill en masse is a good place to farm Lovely Charms. Apparently nothing says loving like mass murder and war crimes.

Lovely Charm don't appear in loot boxes, but rather as a message in your log (as well as items in your inventory).

I was getting really frustrated that none of them were dropping & wondering what I was doing wrong and then I happened to spot one message... I don't look at my log much when I'm just out soloing.

Am I the only one who thinks the implements for this kit are a bit... suspicious? To make pretty little charms for a bracelet, we have to use a scalpel, a pair of pliers, a bone saw? What are we using to make these charms, the internal organs of our enemies?

Having this quest will stop you from getting the love is in the air bracelets.
Test Your Strength

Of course as soon as you get your 250 ears you start getting bracelets. No turn in required. So if you want to go out and farm like crazy for both quests you can without having to run back and do a turn in.

I farmed my 250 ears, then continued killing until I had 40 charms for the day.

Any class that can self heal and AoE while moving has the best chance to farm Slags in Halls of Lightning for Lovely Charms.

I am a Demonlock and all I have to do is run around in the slag room in a circle spamming Hellfire. I racked up 50 charms in less than 10 minutes. You can do like 4-5 laps around the room before you need to Soul Harvest, if you are clear of the Melt Armor debuffs - which can stack up to 5 times (reducing 1000 armor per stack).

As of Patch 4.3.2, the best place to use your Lovely Charm Collector's Kit to collect your Lovely Charms is in Throne of the Tides. Leave the zone set to normal mode to speed the process and reduce any damage taken.

After killing the first two bosses, go back to the entrance and head up the left corridor towards Ozumat. In the hallway there, kill the Unstable Corruption mobs that continuously spawn. They can be AoE killed quickly (only about 3k health!), even solo, by almost any class, and each one that dies has a chance to leave a Lovely Charm. You will have to kill the Tainted Sentry mobs in the front and middle of the hallway first to clear room to kill the Tainted Sentrys. However, be careful not to kill the two Tainted Sentry that are standing at the end of the hallway before Ozumat; once those die, the Unstable Corruptions stop spawning.

Depending on how quickly your class can AoE farm here, you can easily pick up 500+ Lovely Charms per hour; some classes report farming almost 1,000/hour. You will likely need a group to help you kill the first two bosses, though.

(Note: Technically, you only have to kill the first boss, Lady Naz'jar, and activate the control panel, to open up Ozumat's hallway to access the Unstable Corruptions. However, the spawn of the 2nd boss Commander Ulthok blocks your path back to the teleporter, so realistically he will have to be killed as well.)

Make sure you have plenty of bag space when you start, as Lovely Charms only stack up to 40 at a time!

If you haven't done the The riders of Frost/Unholy/Blood, you should farm Malykriss: The vile hold where they are.
Like atleast 20-30 followers to kill at their spot, they all drop loot and they've a really fast spawnrate.
Good place if The Conflagration would be occupied

Players are now able to receive Lovely Charms while on the quest "Test Your Strength", when the player's inventory has both the Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide and Lovely Charm Collector's Kit.
Players now have the chance to receive both the Lovely Charm and Grisly Trophy from a single kill.

Best spots to farm: (and in my opinion, best to worst)

If you're going to do Throne of the Tides or Halls of Lightning, make sure it's set to non-heroic so mob killing is easier.

I haven't seen anyone post it so here it goes.
Best place to farm with NO COMPETITION is Alterac Valley.
The mines have a large amount of low health troggs or our candle vermin friends. The other benefits of being in the battleground also make it much more appealing. I tried grinding them out in Icecrown at the runesmiths and death knights but there was a shadow priest who very heatedly argued that it was HIS spot. I'd just completely avoid the competition all together and go to AV. Happy Farming!

A great way to farm Lovely Charm/Lovely Charm Bracelet is in Icecrown near The Fleshwerks (around 38,70) where Risen Soldier and Summoned Soldier spawn, it's a small area and these mobs respawn REALLY fast, are level 80 and have around 4k health.

Also, the Lovely Charm are not looted, they are generated directly into your inventory (just need to have Lovely Charm Collector's Kit in your bags), and more importantly, they are generated for everyone in the party, no matter if you did the killing blow or even if you hit a mob. So, if you are farming the place, don't be an ass and invite others too! Spread the love!
