I was thinking it might have the affect of adding 3% of your total health everytime you use a "spell or affect", instead of just flat ounce on activation.

So Death Strike, Then Blood Tap. For both of those you get the amount healed then + 50% ontop from Vampiric Blood then +3% total health for each one.

Can anyone confirm this ?

Well just tried it out and imo its useless, it only heals you once when used.

Since Vampiric Blood increases healing on you by 50% wouldn't the heal be 4.5%? not that it really matters but just curious if the heal is applied before or after

Yes the heal increase does take effect before the heal itself.

Even given that this gives 4.5% (if the healing effect is affected by VB itself,) this is ridiculously weak for a major glyph. This wouldn't be bad for a minor glyph; Blizz should either increase this to, say, 10% or change this to minor.

In Patch 3.3.5, this was Glyph of Vampiric Blood (Major) - Increases the duration of your Vampiric Blood by 5 sec.

In Patch 4.0.1, it has been changed to Glyph of Vampiric Blood (Major) - Increases the bonus healing received while your Vampiric Blood is active by an additional 15%, but your Vampiric Blood no longer grants you health.

This change is in keeping with Blizzard's stance on tanking glyphs. They don't want any tanking glyphs to affect tank cooldowns unless they also have a downside (e.g. Glyph of Shield Wall).

Well... I did some math... some rough and basic math for how this effects Death Strike and the shield you get from Blood Shield.

Say you have 100 health and that each Death Strike provides you with 10% of your max health, ie you haven't taken more than 10% of your max health in damage recently.

So... without the glyph, the amount of health that is provided by the ability is about as follows;

100 health with 15% high max means 115 health. That, with a death strike is 11.5 health restored. Then, increased by 25% is 14.375 health restored.
In other words, 100 x 1.15 x 0.1 x 1.25 = 14.375

Now, with the glyph, we are looking at slightly different numbers...
100 health becomes a 10 health death strike, increased by 40% through the buff, making a 14 health restored death strike...
100 x 0.1 x 1.4 = 14

So... the glyph actually reduces the effectiveness of your Blood Shield mastery, as well as Rune Tap and Death Pact. The only real upside to it is that your healers will be able to heal you a bit better... not much, though.

As of 4.0.6 release notes:

The Vampiric Blood tooltip became awkwardly worded after applying Glyph of Vampiric Blood. We made the words less awkward.

The wording itself made me giggle a little.

Unless that will be bot-downrated, I would like to give an answer for those who are questioning themselves if this glyph is worth your time or not.

1. If you are a Stamina Blood DK, this glyph is naturally useless to you, as having no bonus hp with a ton of hp is a bit...awkward.

2. If you are a Mastery Blood DK, you might think that boosting healing received would actually increase your own shields. Wrong. It does not increase your shield, it only increases your Death Strike healing component. Bug or not, staying unglyphed will increase your shields under Vampiric Blood through bonus hp.

As of t13 4p bonus, Stamina DK should not glyph it under any circumstances. For decent Stamina DK 15% hp would be around 40k hp, giving raid a free 20k Rallying Cry every minute +12.5% more healing. For Mastery DKs that would hardly be over 30k, making 15k raidwide not as good as Stamina DKs. Here pure 20% healing might be comparable, and if your group prefers it - you can neglect your shields.

Conclusion: generally you should NOT use this glyph - it's only good for 4p t13 raid preference.
