5 seconds? How does that work, seeing as it ticks every 2?

So a 5 point Rupture (and we always use a 5 point Rupture :) dmgs as follows:

(Base 1500 AP)
Without Glyph: 1906 over 16 seconds (182 + 0.0375 * 1500) * 8 = 1906
With Glyph: 2382.5 over 20 seconds (182 + 0.0375 * 1500) * 10 = 2382.5
Either way you are getting about 119.125 DPS from it.

The real plus is that you have 4 extra seconds to pack on combo points for SnD or whatever else you are doing. And let's not forget the benefits that a feral druid tank gets from a target with bleed on them.

Much better than the 3.2% bump of Glyph of Garrote.

Seeing as at lv 80 you get 30% more rupture damage from serrated blades, 30% from blood splatter, and 10% from the 2 piece naxx set... this will be a must for raiding combat rogues.

If you remember the old imp shadow word:pain talent for priests, it increased the duration of the spell by 6 seconds and increased the damage accordingly. What this results in is rupture doing the same damage per second, just with greater uptime, meaning more damage from rupture over a sustained combat period. The glyph does mean more dps overall however because your rupture is on the target for longer and is dealing more damage in an absolute sense.

this combined with SS glyph and SnD glyph will be the best glyph setup for SS combat rogues, also recomend this for all other raiding rogue builds as rupture is a key damage dealer

PS: is this still in the game or was it removed? can never find on AH on my server, just wanting a confirm if possible

now only if there was a good 3rd glyph for mutilate (SnD and rupture only 2 worthwhile majors i seen for assassination)

Only reason that I took up Vigor is it helps me get right into my rotation FASTER. Being that I Mutilate specced, the 60en spam is harsh. Starting with a Garrote, and hitting a mutilate throws me to 3-4 CP, burning 100 energy instantly. Follow that with a 15en Rupture (Without Vigor, you would have to pool energy for it, With vigor, you actually have the energy already) and you have a chance to proc 25en return, allowing you to hit Mut again. Vigor is, In my opinion, only good if you prefer to head into your rotation faster. Glyph of Vigor allows for more room as well, but I wouldn't waste a glyph slot on that. Rupture, SnD, Garrote are the top 3 that I would be using.

Much better than the 3.2% bump of Glyph of Garrote.

Glyph of Garrote is a 20% increase on total damage, and each tick is 44% stronger.

That aside, this glyph along with the Slice and Dice glyph does allow much more time to build combo points and even fit in an additional Eviscerate or Envenom.

For the Vigor comments, i both agree and disagree. i feel it is a worthwhile gylph for a combat spec (not mut). combined with Vitality (extra engery regen). it makes it so u are almost never out of energy. Many raid bosses invole moving around and doing other tasks. like Thad in naxx, gluth, Storm watch and more. this puts you of "combat" so to speak. meaning u wont be or at least while be a attacking less. with the extra regen, i get back up to 120 quickly. allowing u get ur first rupture of extremely fast. (especially with the Terrorblade raiding (2) set bonus and the combat potency talent) i find i generally can my first full rupture before i run out of energy due to extra energy pool. Also, when u use killing spree, u can do this again. then again when u are hitting CDs. this allows for very regular bursts of damage. thus a greater overall dps for the tougher bosses. Especially when u have a limited time to get as much hurt in as possible.
I use Vigor, Evisrate, and Rupture.
Its been working well so far.

Tested vs dummy - this glyph actualy do add damage

No matter how much your rupture ticks for, the glyph will give you 2 additional ticks same as non glyphed ones.
So that means the glyph increases the damage per cast by 25%.
or: 1000 dmg over 16 sec + glyph = 1250 dmg over 20 sec

Does the Glyph increase the scaling bonus of Rupture? I.e. does it go from from 30% to 40% of your AP? Or does the scaling bonus remain unaffected?

For a combat rogue, should I use Glyph of Rupture or Glyph of Eviscerate ?
I thought that combat rogues used eviscerate more often :|

For assassination rogues with Venomous Wounds the extra two ticks provide two extra chances for ticks of poison damage and more importantly a possible 20 more energy and a cleaner rotation.

Edited to reflect that it's only a chance of providing energy/damage.

How does this work with Serrated Blades that constantly refresh rupture? Totally useless or do we see extra dmg/tick from this glyph?

In Mists of Pandaria this glyph has changed.

OLD: Glyph of Rupture - Increases the duration of Rupture by 4 sec.

NEW: Glyph of Cheap Shot - Increases the duration of your Cheap Shot by 1 sec.
