Keep in mind the new mechanics for channeled spells in wotlk, the first two hits you take will take off 25% of the channeling time each, the rest are ignored. So even with a mob beating on you or in pvp someone's AoE spell tapping you, you are going to get 30% of your health unless you are hit with a interrupt.

Sounds useful in many situations, for instance if you are covered in dots and cant ice block. They need to take 30% more off you if you had this bad boy ready after the fight. If theres no healer in your arena and you Ice block your foes off you, follow it with a channeled heal! This and icy veins glyphs seem essential for pvp.

OK this one is kinda dangerous. So it healed 60% of my hp and the screen lit up like an xmas tree with "attacking you!" ... ICEBLOCK!

If you icy veins right before you pop this you have a %60 heal and mana with no interruptions.. this has turned around many pvp battles for me.

This glyph (while already great) will be significantly better for Arcane Mages come 3.0.8. Per Ghostcrawler, the CD on Evocation has been reduced to 4 minutes, and that can be dropped two more by speccing into Arcane Flows.

This glyph is so cheap, bastardly and overpowered that I just had to have it. It's well worth the glyph slot if you ask me, enjoy it before it gets nerfed!

This is a useful glyph for levelling and heroic dungeons, but when you get to PvP and harder raiding, it is worth somewhat less. Not completely useless, though.

In PvP, you generally get interrupted while using this. And if someone's in melee range of you 60% health isn't going to save you. In raiding, unless you're in an instance with massive amounts of AoE, you won't find too much use for this unless you lose your tanks and you'll be wiping anyways.

If you grab too much threat in a 5-man, this spell can keep you alive so you can go back to your tank and take off aggro. Combined with an ice bubble this works well. But, I think anyone with 400+ first aid at level 80 can make up for this spell and switch it out for another glyph.

Funny thing- healing from evocation is considered from aracane school.

If you said "arcane healing" to me year ago I wold say /lol, nowdays even arcane can heal- evolution.

Love the glyph. I rarely have to use healing potions, conjured food/refreshements, bandages, healers, etc. That frees up the healers to focus on the tanks when raiding, and frees up looted cloth for Tailoring instead of First Aid.

this is a awsom lvling glyth it save's you alot downtime eating(well most of the time i am out of mana enstead of low health)

in bg its also awsome to use.
when yoiu finish abig fight you can do A) eat and drink the problem here is that it takes long to recover and if ther e is a rouge in the area he will backstab you ore something ore B) pop evocation you will quick recover and ypou wioll be much sooner reddy for a nother big fight

This glyph makes Evocation more of an INTERRUPT ME flag than ever before, so be careful when using this. Try to get some distance, and don't even try to use it against classes like Shamans, Rogues or Warriors without CC'ing them(make sure their trinket is on CD, either you're screwed).

It's an interesting glyph but it shares a similar purpose with glyph of icy veins in that they are both used to increase sustainability and survivability. Using just those factors for comparison, I'd say glyph of icy veins is superior for Frost Mages because of its reliable instant CC-dispelling effect, which in turn helps mages kite more efficiently. Frost mages only have a 2.4 minute cooldown with icy veins so it can be used more often than evocation, too. And in practice, icy veins is generally used A LOT more often than evocation in PVP.

Just my opinions. From a PVP perspective, I find glyph of icy veins to be better for increasing sustainability and survivability for frost mages.

In Mists of Pandaria this glyph is getting an update.

OLD: Glyph of Evocation - Your Evocation ability also causes you to regain 40% of your health over its duration.

NEW: Glyph of Evocation -
*Your Evocation ability also causes you to regain 60% of your health over its duration.
* With the Invocation talent, you instead gain 40% of your health upon completing an Evocation.
* With the Invocation talent, you instead gain 10% of your health upon completing an Evocation.
* With the Rune of Power talent, you gain 1% of your health per second while standing in your own Rune of Power.

Patch 5.2 changes Invocation's healing, the rest remains the same.
