It's not a one-time use, and it can be summoned outside the instance.
I spawned it inside the Auction House in Orgrimmar, and a drill popped up.

This, is quite possibly even more awesome than the mount, especially because it provides escape, and a "teleport" to a fairly remote region of the world, even if you do have to get out of the instance.

Hearthstone on CD? Party with a friend and use the trinket then drop party once you're in BRD.

I'd kill to have one of these babies, but my new main is only lvl 65 :(.

My Guild got 2 of these on the first day of Brewfest but has not seen it since. Has anyone gotten this item since the first day of Brewfest? I wonder because I have seen mounts drop a couple of times but have only seen the remote drop on the first day.

Wowhead is still not listing any drop chances for anything that is dropping from Coren.
Here is what my experience is.

I have been farming him for 3 days now with about 7 summons per day (we brought some alts in)
He dropped at least one trinket every time and/or the dagger. He can drop 2 trinkets at once, but this is rare.
He dropped 4 remotes in total.
he dropped 1 mount (ram) in total.

I just got this last night, and it's irresistable to keep going into nostalgia mode and making "At the Earth's Core" (1976) references. If you don't know the film, the "Iron Mole" used in the film is clearly visible 3 minutes into this video http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-6wOJn3hk3Q . Everyone is forgetting the best use of the remote. To avoid those damn crowds on PVP servers that sit just outside the portal waiting for unwary groups to come in. On the first day, there were about thirty horde around the instance portal for at least two hours.

This is so cool if u talk to one of the goblins working on the drum set you will have an option to spawn the WoW band "elite 70 tauren cheiften" and they will play a concert for you, but you need the remote of course. parrrrtttyyy

Could someone confirm this to me?
Try this:

If a warlock duels you, take your dungeon difficulty to heroic, summon the remote before you start the duel. When the lock got u "dotted up" enter it, u will get "No aviailable for heroic mode" error, but in my case all my "dots" got dispelled, and i was still in battle with the lock, as a shaman i entered that many many times and got to shot 1 shock between each time.

Someone try it out and gimme a update pls :P

Having this remote also let's you summon the L70ETC band to play in the bar.

Talk to Ognip Blastbolt if you have the remote and it will give you an option to ask him to get the band to play for you!

Things to do with your shiny new remote:

-Shorten your farm runs for a great way to insult dwarves nearby (especially if you're horde!)

-Start a small fire on your head

-Gather some beer so you and your friends can collect another uncommon pet

-Upgrade to more "reliable" jumper cables

-Feed the NPC for an old greedy faction

-Get down to MC/BWL a lot quicker than any horde flightpath (even if you have to go naked and kill yourself)

And of course generally skip lots of BRD trash to get closer to some of the more fun bosses and quests :)

While all the novelties are great to have, I've discovered that the remote is also a really great way of making quick cash as an enchanter.

Before you begin, do the quest The Love Potion, which is offered by Mistress Nagmara in the bar. This gives you the ability to open the exit doors from the bar without fighting (this saves you some headache). You may also want to pick up the Shadowforge Key, which begins with this quest (the key makes it easier to get back if you die). Of course, an Enchanting skill of 200 is strongly recommended.

Now that you have the requirements, you can hit as many quick and easy bosses as you have time for and shard whatever they drop.

Starting from where the remote drops you off, go up to the second level of the bar (you can get the 5 minute ETC buff if you want) and talk to Nagmara. She'll give you the option of telling her to "go find somewhere private" - take it. The door will be open by the time you will want to use it.

Once you start this next part, you are on a timer (sort of), so be sure you're ready before starting. Your next stop is to take out Hurley, so go into the room you started in and break each of the 3 barrels. This seems to start the timer for the appearance of the mobs who break down the back door (who you probably want to avoid, since they have a nasty tendency of pulling the entire room).

Your next goal is to take out Plugger, who has a fairly decent chance to drop Schematic: Goblin Jumper Cables XL. These sell amazingly well in my experience (I regularly sell them for 125g+). I'd recommend just skipping Ribbly Screwspigot (the other Grim Guzzler boss), since he doesn't normally drop anything that can be disenchanted.

Killing Plugger makes the entire room hostile, including Phalanx, our next target. The easiest way of getting to him without pulling aggro is to jump on the cooking pot near where you downed Plugger and jumping onto the ledge (be careful not to fall). Pull Phalanx and take him out on the stairs.

Now that you're out of the bar, walk past/take out the group of mobs at the bottom of the stairs. The first passage leads to Ambassador Flamelash, Panzor (rare spawn) and The Seven (who give 2 blues). You could keep going, but the bosses down that way aren't really worth the time it takes to get to them and beat them.

Go back to the stairs near the bar and jump down a level (don't hit the lava below, it sucks) which places you right in front of Lord Incendius. Immediately after him, you encounter Fineous Darkvire. Hopefully he'll be where you can fight him solo or with one add, but it's probably not worth waiting very long for him to get into position if he isn't in a good spot.

Continue up the ramps and follow the passage until you end up on the opposite side of the bar, where there is a passage that leads to Warder Stilgiss, a fairly simple boss. To the left of the door, there is a picture to to inspect. Sometimes this triggers a group to spawn and walk towards you. If so, take them out and use the key dropped to open The Vault (a random green).

If you have 12 or more Relic Coffer Keys, you can open all of the Vaults (which contain a bunch of vendor trash) - if you open all 12, a mob will spawn and the golems standing around will come to life. If you take them all out, a Secret Safe will appear. It takes a while, though.

If you continue to follow the path past the Vault (go south from the Domicile), you'll eventually come across Pyromancer Loregrain, who has a chance to drop Formula: Enchant Weapon - Fiery Weapon, which also sells for 100-150g.

Now that you're finished, you will probably have about 8-9 Large Brilliant Shards, which you should separate into stacks of 2 and sell for 15-20g a stack (on my server). Be careful not to flood the economy too badly, though; I'd recommend not putting more than those 8 up at once.

You will also get a handful of Small Brilliant Shards, a ton of Runecloth, a good deal of other Enchanting mats, various recipes, and vendor trash. This run takes me about 25 minutes start to finish, and gives an average of about 100g in stuff.

This does not seem to be the case now.

I dropped the mole machine today in Naxxramas 25 while waiting for the run to continue after having finished two wings earlier. (I'm not the kind of person who habitually drops the train set or some other toy in a public setting at all, but a few people created those columns of light associated with the Lunar Festival and I wanted to join in.) I never expected anyone in this day and age to be foolish enough to click it. Boy, was I wrong; two people, including the raid leader (and I was a non-guild guest), found themselves far, far from Northrend.

Conclusion: It does not matter if one is saved to the instance, or if the difficulty is set to Heroic; this marvel of Dark Iron Dwarven ingenuity will provide a one-way trip to Blackrock Depths regardless.

This is one of the funniest things ever. I have been reading through some of the comments and I have tried some of the things:
1: using it before a battleground has started.
2: using it in an instance when everyone is spawning stupid toys (and i am "proud" to say that I personally have successfully deployed this mole in every heroic instance in northrend, including the raids).

You can use this as great obidiance test when doing difficult raids with PuG.

Give an Raid Warning "Do not click the Mole Machine", spam it a few times and then use Direbrew's Remote. Thoes who disobay and click the Mole Machine most likely wont understand any of the tactics. So far i've had 99% succes rate, only one .. mentally challenged player managed to get thro and that was because he did not notice the whole machine.

The Remote acts like a "Instance Portal" It is not a backdoor, so, now-a-days, click on the mole-machine and get "Additional Instances Cannot be launched."

So- The theory is, it works... Maybe... Maybe it stopped working, but since Additional Instances cannot be launched, we may never know.

Confirm, this does drop still. I managed to get this, the Great Brewfest Kodo Mount(IMO the best drop from the boss) and 2 of the +170 stamina Trinkets for my druid in just the first night. The Brewfest Ram also dropped on one of the drops, but I lost the roll.

Want to cause hilarity and possibly get some people angry at you? Here's some opportune times and locations to drop this:

During large trash pulls, when people are clicking around on piles of dead mobs for loot.
On top of summoning stones, food tables, and soul portals while the raid is buffing.
On top of a summoning stone that was put up to summon back one or more people who clicked the first mole machine. (Requires a friend with a mole machine.)
On top of a Sandbox Tiger.
On boss corpses and loot chests.
Inside any Ulduar or Icecrown Citadel teleporter as your raid is moving to a different area.
On top of the lever to Thorim's room. (This one will probably cause a wipe, or make people miss out on loot....not recommended unless you really hate your raid.)
On the control panel for Mimiron's train. (I actually used this to prevent people from clicking the train early and stranding half the raid.)
In Freya's room, if you have lots of eager herbers.
On top of the NPC that begins the fights in Trial of the Crusader

Through use of this item I somehow tricked the random lfg tool into thinking I was in BRD legit, I believe. Used this item in an unqueued party at level 80, entered BRD from Org. Leader went to queue random heroics and instead queued us all (us 80s) for BRD. It was great. Until our feral ruined it for the lucky pug guy and aggrod the bar. Just like every fricken pug ever, bar was ruined.

This simple glitch allows you to obtain badges of frost and triumph(if 2nd daily HC of the day onwards) from the level 50 instance, Blackrock Depths.

What you will need:
* Direbrew's remote
* A random heroic instance party
* All members of the party to leave the instance but atleast one must be grouped with you.

By taking the remote teleport to BRD while your the last person in the instance or by having all members in the instance take the teleport, BRD will overight your random HC, and the last boss you are aiming to kill in one of the BRD wings will drop badges of frost

This also allows you to double your daily badges of frost as if you kill the last boss of your random HC then take the remote, it will believe this is the firdt random HC of the day As you havn't signed up for the one that gives you triumph.

Other bits of interest: Only the boss at the end of each wing gives badges IF the wing is in the blackrock depths title, such as lowrr city means another bss than emperor.

If you request to get more people in to replace leavers you wll get level 50's fill in your slot that will get blue items from the/badge boss instead of badges.

Hope this helps you guys! I have not tesed this in the US as I play on EU and unfortantly the maintenance is up now so hopefully this hasn't been fixed

Something epic happened in a raid i was in with some guildies, we were in Ulduar messing around, and we were doing Razorscale, and the adds come up in very similar devices that u have to attack, well a friend thought it would be funny to summon this item, and our back line of healers clicked on it thinking it was part of the even, and our healers get grayed out and end up in BRD XD our raid leader flames and kicks the mage who did it, from the group and guild. i laughed for about 30 mins straight. Pro tip, don't pull jokes on guild/raid leaders without a scene of humor. LOL.

While it is no longer possible to use this item to ghetto hearth, you can still use it as a ghetto port to Stormwind. Simply enter the drill, die in the instance, rez through the Spirit Healer, and fly from Thorium Point to Stormwind. This process takes roughly 3 minutes (of course, you must be able to stomach the Resurrection Sickness and repair costs).

Dropped for me today from the Keg-Shaped Treasure Chest. Still a 1 hour cooldown, still dumps you in the Grim Guzzler. A previous post-cataclysm poster said something about not being able to loot bosses after using the remote; I'm not sure what he means by this. The instance functions fine. Killing still yields loot.

This is still probably the fastest way to get to Molten Core for your weekly runs.

It's definitely one of the best way to screw over your friends by dumping it on top of the org portal your mage just made.

If you use this in Coren's room, a drill will appear for you to step in. Once you click on it, another drill will appear next to it and you'll return to the same position you were in, so you'd have two drills poking out of the ground when you only are supposed to have one.

When I use this item on my Unholy-spec Death Knight (which has a pet ghoul out all the time) and immediately after the BRD loading screen, I am disconnected as soon as my ghoul begins to climb out of the ground. If I remember to dismiss my ghoul prior to clicking the mole machine it does not disconnect me.

My warlock and hunter don't have this problem. But I notice that for hunters and 'locks, the pets are already standing there in the Guzzler, waiting for the mole machine to finish its drilling animation. My DK ghoul does not, and since the disconnect occurs immediately after my ghoul begins to climb out of the ground I believe the bug is connected to that emerging animation it does.

Can any other Unholy DKs out there with this item confirm this is happening for you as well?

At first, I thought this was kinda silly. The bar in BRD is kinda amusing (s4 arena vendor lol?), but it's not so awesome that I'd want to go back there all the time. But, later the day after I got it, I decided to use in and check out the bar. I was bored. I spoke to one of the goblins working on the band equipment. Earlier that day, he just said that I had to come back any night at 8 to see the band. But, after I used this remote and then went up to him, there was an extra thing on the page where my guy says something along the lines of 'but I used my mole thingy just to come up here'. Once I clicked on that, the goblin said that, since I had come all the way to BRD just to come to the bar, he'd bring the band out.

Basically, this remote is a free pass to a showing of the Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftains for you and your party at any time. Pretty sweet!

This is awsome got in 2nd day of brewfest and had no idea what it was, i used it In BRD and it just ported us back there :P so me being the wonderful idiot i am asked if anyone wanted to take an underground and asked them for 2g each and made myself an easy 20g.

I also sold teleports to BRD for groups for 10g per group. nice little bonus every hour :)

We kept on summoning alts and guildies into same run of the boss, and had this drop 2x over many kills, so it can drop more then 1x over the same run.

if you've got Direbrew's Remote you can speak with Ognip Blastbolt, who is standing next to the Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain drumset in the Grim Guzzler. if you select the "But I drove my mole machine all the way down here..." chat option, the band will come out and play a song. if you /cheer at them you get a 5 minute buff called "Pumped!" that increases all stats by 5%.

Noobs and pros? It's a new drop so how would anyone know about it already? O.o You're not a pro just because you ran BRD 40 times and, luckily, it dropped for you so you could actually SEE it used.

Knowing what that item does/looks like is like memorizing ZG during pre BC times: it made you think you were cool when it was useful, but now that it's obsolete (no one runs ZG as no 70 will want to run BRD after brewfest is over) you might as well forget it.

Heres another fun little thing you can do to grieve your fellow players. Get a low level grp together, easiest way is to go to a starting area and advertise *Free mole transport to the unknown!*. Get them to click it, join them. When you get to the grim guzzler destroy the barrels to trigger the lv52 Boss wave and watch the carnage unfold

Gz, you've just made 4 lowbies life hell trapping them in Searing gorge :P

*Bonus points for convincing them to destroy their HS before using it.

After you are in Grim Guzzler and use the remote to summon LVL 70Etc to play for you, use the /cheer on one of the band members to receive an additional % stat boost.

This will make fighting Coren Direbrew even easier.

This item is quite handy to have;

-easy port to BRD, if you farm something like Ironfoe
-send party members there, who want to run the dungeon and skip a lot
-aoe nuke the entire bar (Hurley, Ribbly and Spazzring +normal and elite mobs) for drops, recipes and librams (insane title)
-grief someone by placing it inside a mage portal

and the most convenient of them all
-your own extra hearthstone: pop to bar, and leave group or simply run the macro
/run InviteUnit(" ") C_Timer.After(1, function() LeaveParty() end)

This will attempt to join a party and leave it in an instant, and you will be forced home after 60 seconds.

It seems, that even when you have the princess saved or the princess surprised the priest on Dagran Thaurissan side will always be Princess Bronzebeard.

After extensive testing, copious notes, pages of data, and a peer review, I can confirm that usage of the Mole Machine causes the Dark Iron gate door to close.

As far as I can tell, entering BRD using Direbrew's Remote prevents Princess Moira Bronzebeard from being replaced with High Priestess of Thaurissan like it should be when everyone in the party has completed the quest chain ending with The Princess Saved? or The Princess's Surprise.

I've completed the quest chain. When I Mole Machine'd in, spoke with Mistress Nagmara to progress past the Grim Guzzler, then jumped down and swam through the lava to reach the final boss, I was met with a friendly, undamageable Princess Moira Bronzebeard. When I entered normally and ran to Lord Incendius' room before jumping down, I was met with a hostile High Priestess of Thaurissan.

In conclusion, if you've completed the quest chain and want a chance at this boss' loot, either bring along a friend who hasn't completed the quest chain or enter BRD normally, not with a Direbrew's Remote Mole Machine.
