Proc does NOT stack with itself.

After some Servant of Razelikh bashing I came up with a fixed ppm of 1.5 while autoattacking (proc chance % is based on weapon speed).

With instants and in a raid environment, ppm is hovering around 2-2.5 which gives it a ~40% uptime.

So how does this compare to the Warp-Spring Coil from Void Reaver (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=30450)? Besides the obvious difference in AP/Hit. This one ignores 300 armor for 10 seconds. The WSC gives you 1000 armor penetration for 15 seconds. I notice that they are both worded much differently regarding the armor penetration/ignoration. Is there a real difference or did they just use different wording?

What is the uptime on this proc? I have heard ~40% tossed around on other forums. If that is true...then the DST is better, even after it was nerfed. It has a ~22% up time with a 30s CD.

Is it just me or is this item missing a 'to'? I'm ofcourse referring to the Equip:.

Equip: Your melee and ranged attacks have a chance allow you to ignore 300 of your enemies' armor for 10 secs.

A similar trinket is Icon of Unyielding Courage, which does not give a passive AP boost but gives +10 Hit more and ignores +300 more armor when used (instead of a proc) on a 2 min cooldown. And it is much easier to come by. Worth considering when being far from BT content.

The Madness of the Betrayer is very good for hunters rogues warrior (DPS) it work on hunter it says it can ignore armor by 300 and also up hit rating i say this is best for DPS but not for magic! so get it or be a DPS noob but not magical people!

Currently (as of 2.4.3) this trinket is NOT better than https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=34472 for a raiding rogue unless you have vashj belt/dagger or otherwise already have the expertise cap. No rogue having DST should pick this up before a hunter or warr or even a feral druid.

Really rogues shouldnt even have to think about this trinket. There are 2 better options (SoC/DST) in lower, and easier, content that every rogue can obtain and put to great use. Save your dkp for Cursed Vision and, of course, ORANGES.

To every1 who says that, Shard of Contempt is much better, here is a news flash, Expertise does only take effect when attacking from the front or the sides, any NPC or player CAN`T block or perry from behind, so if you have Dragonspine Trophy and the Shard of Contempt throw it in the bag, and equip Madness of the Betrayer with your Dragonspine Trophy, it is a much higer dps output and I will say this loud and clear you will NEVER have to be infront of a boss in BT, it happens you are on the side of boss from time to time when tanks move him, but then just move with the boss make sure you a stuck to that ass of his, if you are 80% of the time 180dgrees behind your enemy Expertise is worthless, you will really only need expertice on 2 bosses in SWP, Kalecos + Brutallis, so equip the trinket there.

DPS
Melee DPS also benefit from expertise. With sufficient expertise, melee classes can attack their target from the front without being dodged or parried (although facing restrictions, such as those on Backstab or Shred, still apply). However, it is possible to have enough expertise to prevent dodges, but not parries, and players with such expertise values should remain behind the target to prevent parried attacks from increasing the target's attack speed against the tank.

This is a good trinket, but 300 armor isn't very much at all. Tsunami talisman and this are probably pretty close in DPS-output, would have to compare hidden cooldowns to deteremin which is better. The 2 together would be really nice to have though.

I guess that low 300 armor deduct is to just make it even, since the attack power is fairly high, also i was wondering if it stacks with either a warrior's sunder
or a rogue's expose armor?

Amazing lol. a new trinket where rogues and hunters will argue who its for because of the armor ignore stat. even though in the end it will equal the same as crit or attack power... more damage in other words for both classes
Id just like to say though. hit rating is more of a melee oriented stat

I roll a hunter and i must say this thing is leet but much to my sadness its also leet for rouges and enh shamys so i guess whoever has the highest dkp wins :)

One of the most sought after trinkets. When it dropped for us tonight, about 6 different people wanted it (then again our raids tend to be fairly melee-heavy).

Best DPS trinket in game considering the huge AP boost, hit rating, and ignoring armor procs. Again it doesnt matter if you say its a rogue over hunter or should be warrior first that doesnt matter. If your in Hyjal/BT you will be using dkp and anyone who can benefit from this will be able to go in on it so it goes to who has the most dkp or who is willing tp spend the most. Believe or not, there are items that benefit multiple classes evenly.

This is the order of classes I believe benefit most from this trinket:
rogue
enh shaman
fury war
hunter
ret pally

Here's why:
While every class benefits ROUGHLY equally from ap and armor ignore, they do NOT all benefit from hit the same way. Duel wielding classes have a 25% (ish) chance to miss on white attacks, but all yellow attacks only have a 9% chance to miss. Rogues benefit the most out of all the classes that can use this trinket because white damage makes up a larger portion of their dps. Enhancement shamen are similar, although over 50% of their damage is white thanks to windfury. Fury wars, on the other hand average around 40% of their dps as white attacks. So +1% to hit is equal to +.4% dps gain. This is why hit is generally considered a bad stat for warriors. With hunters, they should already have enough +hit from other rings etc. that increase agi and hit, therefore wasting the hit on the ring. However, if a hunter does not have his hit maxed, this would be an excellent trinket for him provided the hit dod not go to waste. Ret paladins actually do even less white dmg then warriors thanks to spellcasting.

All that being said, I believe that the gains/losses are not enough to say a certain class shouldnt roll on it. Any of the afore mentioned classes can make excellent use of this trinket. If this dropped would i take it over a rogue? Yes i would, since all the rogues have warp-spring (something I cant get), and my class trinket blows.

hunters dont really have much +hit on pretty much any of the later game items.

to get hit from a trinket for a hunter is a great thing, especially when its as much as this thing tacks on, not to mention hunters are getting as many hits in as a dual wielder any day.

some say it will proc more for a DW simple because they throw more hits, well i say this:

if you have 3.00 bow speed: (most bows have under 3.00, but im using bristlzeblitz for this example). Throw in the shot you will put in between your auto shots, that halfs it, making it 1.50 right there. So, 1.50 then tack on the quiver bonus (a definet +15 percent). Then the possibles: Serpents swiftness if full BM ( 20 percent increase) . Also Improved aspect of the hawk, which most endgame hunter talent builds do indeed HAVE. Then the occaisonal rapid fire on a 3 minute cd, 5 if you dont have rapid killing, (which most endgame hunter builds do).

either way waving off hunters for this trinket truly is one word.
