Me and my friend have made a Arena Team (2 vs. 2 Resto Shaman and Assassination Rogue, its purely for fun) and have found hitting the cap very very easy. Each game nets around 250 Points, and it takes about an hour to hit the Weekly Cap (1300).

What is the maximum total amount of CP you can have when all is said and done? Like say if I cap out 4 weeks in a row and don't spend any. Will I have 5372 points?

The lower tier currency, Honor Points, is earned from un-rated battlegrounds, un-ranked arena matches, honorable kills, and controlling Wintergrasp.

This text is wrong, you get no honor from un-ranked arena matches, or so called arena wargames. Arena skirmishes doesn't work like it used to, now you have to be a team, and challenge another team, you cant sign as solo random anymore.

the Conquest awarded by winning Arena matches and Random Battlegrounds will never go above your weekly Arena cap.

Arena
One 2v2 arena match win gives 180 Conquest Points -> 7 wins give 1260 Conquest Points -> The weekly cap on points is 1350 from 0-1500 arena rating -> You need to win 8 arena matches 2v2 to hit the weekly arena cap
And just to clearify, there is a weekly cap on Conquest Points, but no total cap like there is on Justice points. This means you can gather points for 10 weeks if you like, without ever using a point, and ending up with 10k++ points.

BG
Daily random BG gives 100 CP the first win, and 50 CP the next wins that same day.
You can only earn 1350 CP from random BGs per week.

Rated BG
You have to gather what we used to call premades, and you need 10 people (or 15 depending on the week) to get into rated BG. It gives 300 CP per win. The Rated BG cap is 1650 CP.

Total weekly cap(before you gain any rating of significance)
1650 CP is the total cap. Rated BG, Rated Arena and Random BGs do not share cap. This means you can maximum obtain 1350 CP from Random BG, but even if Arena cap is the same amount, you can still do Arena battles until you hit the total cap which is 1650. Rated Arena and Random BGs now share a weekly cap, if your arena cap is the default 1350, you need to do Rated BG to reach the total weekly cap. To raise this cap, get better than 1500 rating in Arena or Rated BG.

Get weapons
7250 CP is required earned the current season(this actually started to count before the season started in MoP, so if you got CP from random BGs BEFORE the season actually started, it counts) before you can buy weapons, therefore you won't be able to buy weapons until week 5 in the season(week 4 if you managed to level to 90 the first week, and earn 650 CP from random BGs that week). However, if you raise your Rated BG or Arena rating, the weekly total cap will increase and you will get to the weapons faster. If you choose to only do random BGs every week, you won't get to the weapons until week 6 of the season. To get weapons within the first 3 weeks, get an arena rating of 1820 (source: http://www.conquestcalc.com/wow/conquest-calculator). If you reached the weekly CP cap the week before the season started, and you get higher than 2020 rating, you will get weapons just 2 weeks into the season. So, a word of wisdom, do arena the two first weeks to avoid getting nuked with weapons that have 9% PvP Power. :)

Avoid mistake
If you convert Valor Points to Conquest points, it will count towards weekly cap, but it WILL NOT count towards seasonally earned. Currently as of patch 5.0.5 you can't convert points.

So there is a crossbow that's 3400 conquest points that I want. And I would get 25 conquest points for winning the daily BG.

So if all I do is the daily BG's, it will only take 4 and a half months to get? I might even get the full set in time for the next expansion.

This maybe just be my bug, but i have an 2vs2 team with a rating over 1550 and we didnt get higher CP cap, but like every thing els, that might be becouse of u need a 3vs3, 5vs5 or Rated BG of 1500 and above.

can any one confirm this ?

Ok guys, so we're lvl71 and just done some 2v2's we won 3 of them and didnt get any conquest points for them. Anyone have any idea as to why? When we queue for the arena it says we should get 268 for a win but after 3 wins the bar at the top still says 0/1343

Anyone can help?

if you hit your weekly cap, can you spend them and then hit the cap again in the same week? so if i get to 1343 points, can i spend them on something that costs less than that, then get back up to 1343 so that they will roll over the next week?

Cap updates every weekly reset, not immediately!

Weekly cap is a gain cap, not a total cap, which means that every wednessday reset, your cap is reset, and you can be awarded more points. Points does not reset!
Once again, Conquest cap, not conquest limit!

Wargames (Un-rated arena battles) (Team vs Team unranked)
- Does not award anything.

Unrated Battlegrounds
- Random Battleground / Call to Arms battleground awards:
# - First Daily Victory: 25 Conquest + 90 Honor

I have a question --

I can't find a solid answer anywhere, but does the % of games you play make any difference in calculating your Conquest Cap?

Example: I am part of a 2s team with 2 friends of mine (there are 4 characters as members). We all play different comps based on who is available and who needs points. This is my highest rating but I only have played in about 15% of games because I joined the team later in the season on my main. Would this rating still count for my Conquest cap?

Oh but do mind this wednesday's patch. Now Valor Points -can- be converted into Conquest Points. (Cheating imo...)

Apparently turning valor points into conquest points count towards your weekly cap. Im not sure about if you can switch points after getting cap.

As of 4.1, Conquest points can be bought from the Valour Point Vendor.
Although I recommend that, even though it takes an increased amount of time to reach your conquest cap now, do not spend your VP on CP. It is simply a waste, the points bought from VP *will* count towards your conquest cap and will only mean that you're losing out on valuable points.

Also, to the people who think that it is too hard to reach the conquest cap and are stooping as low as to use this method: Stick in there! If you have the 'skill' required to complete heroic dungeons, surely you will be able to win your games (even if it's just a small percentage of them).

Also, attempting to purchase conquest points when you have already reached your weekly cap will simply result in an error message saying that 'you can't hold any more of that item'.

Conquest points can be purchased in stacks of 250 from Faldren Tillsdale (Alliance) or Jamus'Vaz (Horde) in exchange for 250 Valor Points.

Purchasing Conquest Points in this manner *does* count against your weekly conquest cap, and it *does not* refund Valor Points from your weekly valor cap.

Also, purchasing conquest points in this manner does not give credit towards the various Earn X Conquest Points achievements.

As of 4.1 there is no way to purchase valor points using conquest points, so spend wisely!

As a casual, with no time to dedicate to either a Team or a Guild, I found it pretty convenient to p/u VG Spellblade. It IS simply the best pre-raid caster DPS weapon and well worth the flush of VP I had from 30 odd ZA/ZG runs. Otherwise, I can't see anything worth buying unless I intended to PvP full time. Good to know that hitting cap is pretty easy, I might start trying, even though I might honestly be "totally worthless in PvP".

The one thing that was frustrating was having to wait an entire week to convert a 2nd weeks worth of VP. Even sitting on several thousand VP, this transaction IS limited as described and will not allow you to instantly become flush in Glad gear.

Just for the enchanters with their conquest cap and nothing to spend it on. you can but the epic rings Vicious Gladiator's Ring of Accuracy for1250Cp or any other equivilant and then just Disenchant the ring for a Maelstrom Crystal to make some extra money. considering there is nothing to buy with these points after your full tier 2 this is basicly the only way to use them before there deleted at the start of next season and make some money.

at my point of view blizzard could make another way to get conquest points, i cant get a group for arenas and is imposible to get this points if u dont run rated or arenas.

idk why blizz always do the same, why they cant put another ways for ppl that cant make groups for arenas or rated.

there is must another way to get more than 25 CP per day if u are not on arena team or rated is unfair make the only way to get the CP.

in my opinion they have to put another way, not only arenas or rated BG

My friend and I just made a team (2v2, mm hunter and holy pally) for fun, and found out that it's ridiculously easy to cap. Probably going to continue on in it, see what gear we can get and the highest rating.

Cap for under 1500 rating is 1350 for arena, and 1650 for rbgs. You get 180 conquest per win (least, that's what I got).

Consider that buying Conquest with Valor will not add to your Conquest Season Earned Total (total, not weekly)

As the word says, you have to earn the Conquest points to add to your Season total.

I kinda agree that buying the CP is cheating, which is why they only count towards purchases imo. On the other hand, given time time I tend to play, I have yet to find someone to run with, so I take my CP's as they come. That said, if you don't really run arenas or RBG's (but PUG alot along with CoD's), I can't see getting one's hands on things like the Ruthless Gladiator's Slicer any other way.

Correction: .......PUG alot along with CtA's.....
