Easily solo'd at level 9 as a Shaman. She seems to have a smaller aggro radius than your own, and when she does aggros, only aggros one at a time. The quest is very simple and does not require two people.

Very easy to do solo. (Level 9 Shaman) If you can kill those owl's by yourself one at a time, you can escort this lady.

If you have the quest The Lost Fisherman, do the escort first, the escort ends at that guy.

I spent all my time running around trying to FIND this chick... I found the guy she leads you too before I found her... Maybe I'm just SPECIAL... Oh well...

How to EASILY FIND HER!

She's on the lonely island that is in the most western/southern part of the map
((I did a mistake and on the screenshot I posted I said western/eastern... oppsies hehe))

She is beside (on the west side) this giant driftwood log in the most northern part of the island.
She is knelt down with a big yellow ! above her head.

Her escourt takes you directly through the centre of the island down to the south part of it.

Do this quest along with "The Missing Fisherman"

I soloed this quest as a level 9 shammy. Eeeeeeeeeeeeasy!

For whatever reason, Magwin always falls through the dock into the water at the end. Pretty amusing.

She aggros ~5 owlbeasts as you run through, but not more than 2 at a time, from what I can tell. Pretty simple quest.

umm...is this quest even worth it, exp or reward wise?? Cuz I would rather just run around and kill a few things to get the EXP...why would they bother with a quest this low??

soloed at lvl 9 hunter... 7 attacks all seperate quite easy i still think they should send u around the edge instead of straight down the middle - would be alot easier then... lol

I'll echo Silma. Why is this a group quest?

Note for wand-wielders: Use your wand to finish off the mobs. It saves a lot on mana by not using your spells full-blast and you won't have to drink at all throughout the entire escort. That's for priests and mages, of course. No warlocks start on Azuremyst Isle. Shamans, use melee weapons for the exact same reason.

The reputation for this quest may be awarded based on race. I just completed it (Gnome) and received 150 Exodar rep and 63 Gnomeregan Exiles rep. Can any other races confirm?

Soloed with ease as a lvl 9 priest. I don't know why this has a Suggested 2 Players tag on it, but, as one pster said if you can kill a single owlbeast at a time you can do this quest NP. And, Magwin is actually not a completely stupid AI escort for once, she never aggros more then one mob and moves in a straight line.

Magwin's Lines:

Help me! (Only phrase she said while attacking the Owlbeasts)

My poor family. Everything has been destroyed. (Upon seeing the wrecked house)

Father! Father! You're alive!

Cowlen: Daughter!

Magwin hugs her father.

You can thank <name> for getting me back here safely, father.

Sweet ending to a pretty sad quest cluster.

As of 4/1/09 a Draenei priest received all of the rep listed at the top (63s with the various factions etc)

Just rolled a hunter for 4.0.1 and I noticed her pathing changed from the last time I did this quest (I think thats was 3.2) and I noticed it is now suggested to be a group quest. Magwyn now goes to the west a bit and heads towards the back of the house before she heads to the dock. 4 owlbeasts were all I had to kill and She only pulled one at a time. They were easily dispatched with her beating my pet to the mob for a kill shot every time so it I'd say it's still solo-able.

For those w/o coordinates. She is on the coastline just above the M in Silvermyst Isle. You can miss her easily as she is hidden behind a large piece of driftwood on the beach.

Magwin is the quest giver. I found her at 13,73 on the beach in the northern part of Silvermyst Isle by a big fallen log.

Found her on the beach at the very north side of Silvermyst, near a big log. 13,73 Says it is a group quest, but I have now soloed it on two different draenei (a hunter and a priest) at level 12.

The reputation for this is indeed +250 to Darnassus and +150 to Exodar. (true for as long as you are within a certain level range of the quest) This is very solo-able by the way. :P Did it as a level 8 mage

As of Jan 20, 2008, even at level 18 the reward is still 250 for Darnassus.

Does Magwin head straight across the middle of the island in a straight line, or does she take a different path?

Also, does she run, or walk?

Finally, how much punishment can she take before she kicks the bucket?

So far I've only done escort quests that involve adult NPCs (ones who can tank a little bit, help you fight, and regain their HP after each fight, so you can just follow behind them & bail them out when they get in trouble).

First off if you haven't gotten it already get the "Missing Fisherman" quest.

Did this quest today while trying to find Cry Baby Cowlen, who is her father btw. She will lead you directly to him, so just follow her and kill any of the mobs that jump her on the way. She does fight and takes off running to fight if agro'd. Just kill the mob fast, never had to heal her.

BTW after escourting her, and then completeing the "Missing Fisherman" quest (the one I was trying to do first) you will get the "All That Remains" quest. Follow the dock to the hut on the beach and kill the owlbears in there. Got the remains off the second one.

Rather nice and I guess I got lucky in the process, by getting the "Missing Fisherman" quest first.

A bit of a jaunt to get to her first, what I did was just head out towards the boats in Odysa (spelling, the camp on the beach to the south of Azure Watch}, then headed west along the shore line till you come to an island. She's on that island. There is a sandy path along the shore line heading east, follow that to the beach and she will be on the other side of a lone driftwood log.

Soloed this as a lvl9 shaman. As long as you actively clear the path before her, there shouldn't be any problems.

The girl is around 13,73 sitting beside a log/fallen tree on the coast. She will need a walk to Cowlen which is right at 28,32

I soloed this quest as a level 9 druid, I encountered not more then 5 moonkins.
Just make sure you kill them fast.

For al you healers out there - you CAN heal magwin :)

As of 01/25/2022, this quest is bugged. I attempted it 3 times and Magwin phased out at different spots each time. The first attempt, she made it all the way to the beach, just before the dock, and then just disappeared. After the second attempt, in which she phased out almost immediately after the quest started, I logged out and back in to see if that would help. Nope. She phased out just towards the end again. Three tries were enough for me. It's a shame, 'cause it's a very easy quest to solo.
