The ligaments drop off of all 3 forms of the Shoveltusks (The calves, stags and normal neutral shoveltusks) the droprate is something like 60% maybe, not terrible at all. As for the pound of flesh - as the quest log states its sold by an NPC named Anton who is an undead male in a black robe that travels along the road leading west out of New Agamand.

Found him at 47,72. Follow the road that is parallel to New Agamand.

Anton is a L71 green flagged horde char, as such, he can and will attack allies if they pass and it could be, if you can't find him, an allie just killed him.

I found him at 52,73 having run up and down the path about 5 times without seeing him. It could be he spawns there or thereabouts. He was certainly stationary there for some time as he's still here as I talk though it might be he reset as he's chased 3 allies since I found him.

anton is on the road id suggest you just kill stags until you see him he is a vendor btw youll notive him the fresh pound of flesh is like 85 silver to buy i beleive

Obtaining a pound of flesh from Anton could quite possibly be a reference to Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice," in which Antonio must give Shylock a pound of flesh.

The phrase "pound of flesh" comes from the Merchant of Venice as you just mentioned but while it was Shakespeare who came up with the wording he was referring to a literal payment of flesh in lieu of a bad debt - the use of the phrase to refer to the repayment of a debt or an unreasonable (but lawful) recompense comes from the late 18th century.

The quote in the play from Shylock is:

The pound of flesh which I demand of him Is deerely bought, 'tis mine, and I will haue it.

The phrase "pound of flesh" is more usually used to refer to an unfair / excessive / cruel payment, but as this quest is literally buying flesh for the quest giver, it can only be taken to be a reference to the play.

A little background on the play itself:

Shylock is a wealthy Jew in the play and has to make money from lending as the laws of the time prevent Jews from owning farms or joining guilds (as in blacksmithing etc).

Antonio is a bit of a scumbag and insults and even spits on Shylock simply for being a Jew. He then wants to help his friend Bassanio borrow money from Shylock so acts as the guarantor. The bond is set at the aforementioned "pound of flesh" which is quickly agreed on as Antonio thinks the deal on offer (no interest charges) was great.

When Antonio defaults on the loan, Shylock demands the literal payment as his revenge against both Antonio and Christians, angered also by his daughter converting and eloping with some of his money and jewellery. He loses out when the defence argue that the "pound of flesh" did not include blood so he would not be able to take the revenge. It ends quite badly for Shylock, forced to convert to Christianity and losing his wealth.

Found Anton, a Level 71 Undead, on the road just south of New Agamand. Anton did not show up as a Food & Drink vendor on the map as of 11-15-2008. 85 Silver for meat. 100% drop on ligaments from all Shoveltusk types it seemed.

I found Anton at 76 87 in Howling fjord near a good hunting spot. But drop rate is a little bit lower.

Found Anton at 52,73, saw him walking up the path as I was killing the shoveltusks. I killed about 15 of them (variety of stags, calf, and regular shoveltusks) to get the 6 ligaments.Led to follow up "Wanted: Some Assembly Required".

You're gonna have to get me some parts, though. I can't afford to use up my choice components on something that's gonna get blown up.

First of all, I'm going to need shoveltusk ligaments... way better than the human kind.

I will also need a pound of flesh. A fellow known as Anton sells cheap meat. He travels up and down the road to the west.
