Starting in Patch 3.3, the Ravasaur Hatchling will be dropping from this zone spawn (just like an old world chest). It will no longer drop from Ravasaur Matriarch after Patch 3.3 goes live.

Introduced in patch 3.3, these nests contain vanity pets. The pets you can get from these are:

Leaping Hatchling from Takk's Nest
Darting Hatchling from Dart's Nest
Razormaw Hatchling from Razormaw Matriarch's Nest
Ravasaur Hatchling from Ravasaur Matriarch's Nest

Prior to 3.3, these pets dropped from rare creatures that are on five to eight hour spawn timers. The other hatchling pets, such as the Razzashi Hatchling, are not obtainable from nests.

"Its cold, and rainy, and I am too lazy to turn down my graphics. Clouds of mist everywhere...no hatchling in sight. Raptors...everywhere. Running in circles for at least twenty minutes. I hate you, tiny money machine! I hate you. So hungry...Oh no, troll mage near by. Wait...i wonder what trolls taste like..."

Anywho, let me tell you, I didn't know it hailstormed in Un'goro. But I digress, I have found the hatchling in six different spots -- based on the above map.

*Two spawn by the left pin.
*One spawned near the north pin.
*One spawned in the middle of the north and south pin.
*One spawned near the southern pin.
*One spawned far to the east, away from any pins up.

Long story short, this nest, compared to the rest, is rather difficult to find and has a tendency to be nestled in tree trunks, curves in tree roots, behind other shrubs, near fake egg nests, and other locations of horror. Also, seems to spawn just about any place a group of raptors is near. Have to have a good eye and patience to generally find it.

I found the nest at 9:30 <Server Time> on Moon Guard. It was just south of the northern pin, on the other side of that small body of water. It was on the southern side of the large tree, pinned between the tree and a small palm.

Ok I killed the Matriarch at 12:06pm and found the nest at 12:25pm. It spawned right under the little body of water with two islands behind the tree. (Aerie Peak) Happy Huntiing.

Found him after about 1hr 20min searching.

Fyi, the nest sticks out much more than the other raptor eggs you see around this area. Once you know where to search, you should have no problem identifying it.

been searching for 30minutes now, pretty devistated as this pet was the one i wanted most.

I found the rare stood and spawn infront of me as i logged in, ran over to her and watched her a bit then killed. Search All the spawn points for her and no eggs in sight. So i asume either that the nest does not always spawn ?

Found my dino at 62,64. The nest was real close to a 'fake' nest, right out in the open. So far this has been the easiest one for me to get.

Once the Matriarch is killed, is the nest only lootable by the one who killed her? I killed the Matriarch and have been running around like a crazy toon with no sign of a lootable nest. It would really suck if I killed the rare spawn only to have the prize - as the adolescents in Trade Chat say - ninja'd.

Despite bumping into the Ravasaur Matriarch (and killing it), I could not locate its nest anywhere in the surrounding area (nor, for that matter, the entire raptor grounds of Un'Goro). Another player may, of course, have looted the nest already and the fact that mob and nest may be on completely different spawn timers doesn't really help either. Unlike Takk the Leaper and Dart, whom both have nests that are easy to locate due to their restricted spawn areas, Ravasaur Matriarch covers a huge area in comparison and the amount of vegetation really makes this one a challenge...

My gut feeling tells me that you're more likely to run into this nest by chance rather than trying to hunt it down.

Found one eventually, at around 63,63.

The biggest annoyance with this is that mousing over looking for the cog icon is a pain in Un'goro due to the power crystals, piles of dirt and bloodpetal sprouts.

Just wanted to let people know that Dwarven Treasure Finding doesn't work (in the same way it doesn't work with anything else introduced with WotLK!)

I have never found the nest at 68.9, 61.2, and haven't ever met anyone who has. I wonder if the locations vary a bit from server to server? Also, I was under the impression that the nests usually had only 4 spawn points maximum, and have never seen any spawn in a 5th location. (Doesn't mean they don't, just that I've never seen it happen) Does anyone have any verifiable sources?

Best advice is - don't give up!

This took around 2 hours of searching - logged in 4 times and did 1/2 hour at a time.

Unbelievably hard to find, but was at the top spawn point.

This is bs ive been camping this egg for a full day i allready killed the matriarch 3 times and i found not 1 nest im checking all the spawns lister here plus more and there is now way i missed it cuz i found darts taks and razormaw 1 so i know what it looks like an ideas woud be appreciated

came back 6 hours after i killed the matriarch still absolutely no sign of nests and only 1 80 here doing lore master i asked him if he was anywhere near me and he said no so idk if this one is extra rare or something because i just found darts again and the razormaw one any information on some kind of spawn timer would be much appreciated

Another question- does anyone know if there restricted to the area were the ravasaur runners (blue ones) and regular ravasaurs are or can they be with the venom hide ones?

I found it @ the upper western pin 63,0.63,2.Sorry i don't have a pic but there is a big tree just before you bump from Ravasaurs into Diemetradons and also on the east side of the tree near some fake eggs.Also after six h i found him @ 68.9,66,9 check the screenshots is the one between another big tree and a palm tree. Hope it help

as other have mentioned this is the only one of the four on a significantly longer respawn timer.

Tip: look near the palm trees and think where would you hide an easter egg. They are well camouflaged in areas with grass. So zoom in or scan with your mouse for the cog icon and don't bother looking in the open areas. Best of luck to those of you hunting for this pet.

I just found this on my lvl 49 Orc Shaman on a PvP server. Tom Tom Coordinites: 62.96 63.16. It's right in the corner of a tree and its above ground root. I've heard this is a random spawn, but those interested in keeping track of times, it was at 1:14am server time.

Would really help a lot if Blahskie's post had coords for the 2 locations that don't have pins (the one in between, and the one "far to the east" - how far to the east can it be, you run into the edge of ungoro pretty soon in my opinion).

Let me add a note that others have touched on, but I don't think has been emphasized enough. You ABSOLUTELY MUST mouse over the coordinates when looking! I went to the location at 68.9, 66.9 and initially thought nothing was there. But then I waved my cursor over the area and, sure enough. there it was! I was looking right at it and still couldn't see it! When people say the nest is well camouflaged, THEY ARE NOT JOKING.

I found my nest this morning at 9:20 am cst, at coords 61.9,65.2 ; nest was located under a lone palm tree quite out in the open, nest was very visible and not hidden at all. Seen it in ah this morning on our server for 750g, decided to see if I could find this pet which eluded me prior to the shattering and there it was.. also, added the object to NPCscan and it does NOT track/notify you when this object is in range, so don't bother being dependant on an addon to find this, you have to look :)

As mentioned from the posters above, do not get fooled by the eggs that seems to be lying around everywhere. I found the Ravasaur nest near a tree trunk at the lower part of the marked area, (approximately within the 62.0, 73.6 area).

Unliked Razormaw and Dart, when i clicked and looted the nest, Ravasaur Matriach popped up. I'm not sure if at that time the respawn timer just went up or it was because i was looting her nest. Anyway, compared to her and the other raptors in that area, she is larger in size and green in colour. (Makes you wonder probably her daddy is one of the T - Rexes roaming that area). So to hunters, you might want to tame her and pair her up with her hatchling >_<.

I would recommend turning down ground clutter in the video quality options so that you can see the nest easily without having to mouse over ferns and what nots. This seems to be the rarest among the 4 nest hatchlings, or maybe I just have bad luck with this one. Coincidentally though, this is worth the most (out of the 4 nest hatchlings) on my server.

There's a lot of discussion about exact locations for the nest, but has anyone bothered to find a respawn timer on the nest - even a general one? My guess is it would be the same as the Matriarch herself, around 4-10 hours, but I can't be sure and I don't have the time to do a long camp out there.

So: does anyone have info on the respawn?

Found one today at the 62.0 73.6 coordinates (wasn't a palm tree but was one of the big trees instead) at 5:35 pm EST. There was not a matriarch around. And as mentioned before, be sure to mouse over everything and look for the gear icon because this nest was not covered up by anything, it was in plain view and I didn't see it at all. I did the mouse over, saw the gear, and found it that way. Thanks everyone for the coordinates.

Was reading up on it trying to figure out where to farm, when I went back to the game, I flew a few feet and voila! Found it on Dalaran realm 4:35PM server time, at 62.3,74.2. Debated selling it but I'm trying to get to 150 pets, and I'm 2 away now after learning it. No idea what the typical selling price is.

I found this nest immediatly when i went to find it, at 62.2, 65.3 pretty out in the open next to a palm tree. I went a couple times again and didn't find it again till today at 68.9, 66.9 between a big tree and a palm tree, kinda hidden in green grass. My brother found it at 62.0, 73.6 accidently when doing the quest to get the vemonhide raptor mount eggs.

I can verify that the nest does spawn at 68.9 61.9. You do not have to kill the Matriarch for the nest to spawn. I found this at 4.:28 pm, Llane server.

I found my ravasaur hatchling at /way 66.8 66.9. It was the last one I needed.

As I was in the neighborhood I tried to farm me some thorium and fire from the elementals to make some fused wiring. While I got the thorium, I did not get the other parts.

From what I've seen on the images it likes to spawn beside one of the palm trees. So it might be a good idea to focus around them.

Just found mine just a couple min after posting lol (at 68.8, 66.7). It was beside a palm hidden in the fern there. I was lucky I was facing the way i did!

Took me about 20 minutes total to find one. I just got an addon that was pretty precise for coordinates, and took a good, long look at the spawnpoints. I managed to memorize 'em after a minute or so, and it made the flying around in circles a whole lot easier.

Of course, Darkmoon Faire is a relatively low populated server, and there was nobody else farming it, but this shouldn't be too hard a farm, if you know where to look. Hope this helps, and good luck.

EDIT: Found another one a day later on another character, different location though. Both took about 20/30 minutes of aimlessly flying around.

The Ravasaur Hatchling is the hardest, because it is generally buried in the undergrowth at the base of the tree. The other two are quite visibly obvious.

This is posted over on the Ravasaur Matriarch thread here on wowhead. Cross posting here where it will do a lot of good. It certainly helped me.

After searching for the nest off and on for about 3 days, I killed the matriarch and then found the nest.

On the map above, I killed her just about dead center of the dots you see. Maybe slightly to the left, just between the two small ponds that were north and south of me.

I then spread out slowly and found the nest about 5 minutes later, at the furthest dot to the left, at about the 9 O'clock point, if it was a clock.

Also, it was right out in the open and was not hard to see at all.

I saw no Matriarch in the area of the nest find. I got mine from the southern most location on the map which happens to be the one in the main screenshot.

When searching for the Ravasaur Matriarch's Nest, you want to make sure you really take a look around. Don't just fly around and hope to see it. Actually land in the various spawn locations and turn around slowly in a 360 degree turn, hovering your mouse over any nest that catches your eye.

When I was searching for this nest, I did a cursory loop around the various spawn locations without any luck. I headed up north to check for Dart's Nest and found it after a moment. I came back down to Un'goro after looking on Wowhead for the exact spawn locations and used the above method. I wound up finding the Ravasaur Matriarch's Nest in between two trees near the water, a place I would not have seen if I'd just been flying by.

- Spawned at 61, 73 after 20 minutes of running around. Be patient and keep your eyes open. The nest blends in well with its surroundings. I submitted a screenshot with the nest circled and the location using TomTom. Good luck.

How to create a route for the Spawn Points

Click on the torch icon (Favorites) in your carbonite minimap

This brings up the notes window.

Click on the word Root on the left hand side.
Right click on the word Root.
Click on Add Folder
Name it Ravasaur Matriarch's Nest
Press Enter or click on Accept to create the new folder
Click on the new folder then right click on the new folder you just created.
Click on Add Favorite
Click on the Record button in the upper left corner of the Favorites window.
Make sure that it is red.

Enter the following lines into your chat window: (you will have to copy and paste these one at a time)

/carb gotoadd Un'goro 68.9 61.2
/carb gotoadd Un'goro 63.0 63.2
/carb gotoadd Un'goro 63.0 63.2
/carb gotoadd Un'goro 62.0 73.6
/carb gotoadd Un'goro 68.9 66.6

Click on Record to stop recording.

You can now Right click the Targets and rename them if you would like.

MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE STOPPED RECORDING!

Now you can click on the first one and Carbonite will automatically create a route for you to follow. If you are unsatisfied with the route, right click on your carbonite mini map window and chose Route then Current Goto Targets. This will redo the path from where you are currently.

I was flying around and spotted an Ironhide Devilsaur, so I tamed him. Turned around, found the nest at 62, 65 underneath a palm, no obstructions blocking the view. Matriarch nowhere in sight, though.

Fought a loosing battle with insomnia and decided after killing Garr to try one of my archeology toys, The Last Relic of Argus.
After porting in at the bottom of a lake (good thing I didn't wander away) my first thought was I don't want to go to Un'Goro Crater, this thing is FAIL! My second thought was wait, what if this thing knows something I don't know... And decided to see if there was a possibility that the nest was up.
It's been a while since I halfheartedly gave this pet a go, so I popping over here to see where the spawn points were and most importantly what the nests looked like in comparison to the other random nests laying about.
You will note, the REAL nest is surrounded by leaves, whereas the fake ones are just on the ground, with no nest, but the real nest only has three eggs in it (as shown in all the screencaps), two unbroken, one broken, and the eggs are all purple. The fake nests as I have seen all have several purple eggs in them and one larger greenish white egg.
I flew to each spot, and when I came to the last point, (68.9,66.9) there the nest was, tucked in between the palm tree closest to the water and the larger tree.
The time was 10:35 am Kael'Thas.

It would seem that Un'Goro Crater was EXACTLY where I wanted to be and not only do I have a pet I have been wanting, I seem to have a psychic novelty item... It will be fun to see if it repeats it's magic once the 12 hour cooldown is off.
