In Scholomance the book titled 'Exile of the High Elves' rest. This book mentions the Highborne and Illidan himself. This book is about the magic that was released upon Ashenvale, and when the first elves first went off to build the land of Quel'Thalas.

This book is in the south western corner of the room before the Viewing room. You can jump down to it from the start of the instance. Dont forget to pick up the invasion of Draenor on the opposite side of the room. ;)

This book is also on the balcony of a 2 floor hut to the right of the Inn in Ratchet. It is placed on a table between 2 chairs and has a blue cover. So no need to go in Scholomance.

It's in the Cenarion Enclave, which is the cave beneath Darnassus with the entrance at coordinates 32.2, 16.4 to the left of the sabre handlers. Run down the spiral ramp and past rouge trainer Syurna and take a right. The book is on a small table behind Erion Shadewhisper.

Confirmed to be on the balcony of Booty Bay Blacksmith shop in Ratchet (yes, it is called booty bay blacksmith, but it is in Ratchet) It is not on the balcony of the general store.

As of patch 4.0.3, the book is still available in Darnassus at 39, 39 in the Cenarion Enclave. However, the entrance to the cave is now at 38, 33. The rest of Fondell's directions are still accurate.

The entrance to the cave is now at 38, 33 in the Cenarion Enclave at Darnassus.

Book location confirmed at 39.6, 39.9, At the bottom of the cave you will see Syurna, a rogue trainer, jump off the little cliff to the right. There is a small opening to the right with Erion Shadewhisper also a rogue trainer inside a little cave. The book is on a table in the back of that cave.

Confirmed that it is down in the Cenarion Enclave down past the Rogue Trainer and in a room with NPC Erion Shadwhisperer.

Page One
As the centuries passed, the night elves new society grew strong and expanded throughout the budding forest that they came to call Ashenvale. Many of the creatures and species that were abundant before the Great Sundering, such as furbolgs and quilboars, reappeared and flourished in the land. Under the druids' benvolent leadership, the night elves enjoyed an era of unprecedented peace and tranquility under the stars.

Page Two
However, many of the Highborne survivors grew restless. Like Illidan before them, they fell victim to the withdrawal that came with the loss of their coveted magics. They were tempted to tap the energies of the Well of Eternity and exult in their magical practices. Dath'Remar, the brash, outspoken leader of the Highborne, began to mock the druids publicly, calling them cowards for refusing the wield the magic that he said was theirs by right.

Page Three
Malfurion and the druids dismissed Dath'Remar's arguments and warned the Highborne that any use of magic would be punishable by death. In an insolent and ill-fated attempt to convince the druids to rescind their law, Dath'Remar and his followers unleashed a terrible magical storm upon Ashenvale.

Page Four
The druids could not bring themselves to put so many of their kin to death, so they decided to exile the reckless Highborne from their lands. Dath'Remar and his followers, glad to be rid of their conservative cousins at last, boarded a number of specially crafted ships and set sail upon the seas. Though none of them knew what awaited them beyond the waters of the raging Maelstrom, they were eager to establish their own homeland, where they could practice their coveted magics with impunity.

Page Five
The Highborne, or Quel'dorei, as Azshara had named them in ages past, would eventually set shore upon the eastern land men would call Lordaeron. They planned to build their own magical kingdom, Quel'Thelas, and reject the night elves' precepts of moon worship and nocturnal activity. Forever after, they would embrace the sun and be known only as the high elves.

The book is still in the rogue cave in Danarsus. if u just walk all the way down to the end of it, it's on a table behign the rogue trainer
