Silver Veins can spawn instead of any Tin veins. This is like a rare spawn among the veins.

EDIT: Iron can also spawn them. But it has more chance to spawn a Gold Vein than a Silver Vein.

I found like 8-10 silver veins in ashenvale, just follow the river from the bridge leading to the north. from 62,70 to 75,50.

Just and FYI to miners:

Gold Ore and Silver Ore are a skill point for anyone who smelts ( up to a certain level) it helps get over that hump where the ore is green and a pain in the arse to get 1 more point, so you can then smelt something higher.

So in other words Gold Ore and Silver Ore are worth more on the AH for this reason.

I have been searching for silver the last 3 days. I have seen this post, and a freind told me to go to thousand needles for the silver. I had found 2 silver veins and alot of iron and copper. There is no way that much silver there. I just kept going around and round.

Best bet it to buy the ore off the Auction House and resell the bars, however on some servers it can cost alot of money.

This is also worth so much due to the fact that it is used in Jewelcrafting, Engineering AND Blacksmithing. Not to mention the obvious skill up issues surrounding mining.

This is by far a great money maker for your high30's low 40s. Just Run around Arathi and mine it. The map shows a lot of nodes, but as stated above thats just where its been seen before. There is generally very little in Arathi, but still more than anywhere else I've seen.

I always have luck around 68,75. that whole area around there usually has at least 1 or 2 nodes for the picking.

Arathi Highlands CAN be very good for mining nodes from tin-mithril.
There ARE high levels of silver ore at times, however there are lots of people who farm Arathi Highlands for ores.

On an good run, you can get:

20-30 iron
10-15 mithril
10-20 tin
and 1 or 2 node's of silver.

When competiton is high...much less.

Edit: Just did 2 laps round Arathi Highlands got:
27 iron ore
7 mithri ore
2 gold ore
2 silver ore
8 tin ore

This was with 1 Alliance farming ores as well...

I found it easier to just hop on your high level character and run into instances checking the Chests. The majority of treasure chests I've ever found have had Silver Ore inside them, even in the start zones. Venture into Uldaman or Deadmines and you've got a decent chance. As you're probably looking for Tin as well, it's a good place to look, and since you're checking here for advice you're probably at around level 115-125 as I'm at 123 and I refuse to pay 7g for 1 Ore on the AH.

Smelting Silver Ore goes green at around 121-123.

for those trying to level through tin and silver. thousand needles is a good place cause it actually follows the level path coming out of copper (which it has a little of) through tin and into silver and iron. pretty much TK has no specific set ore but it does have a larger range of tin and some silver spread throughout the zone. seein a really good ammount compared to arathi just running 20% around the entire zone.

I might agree with farming deadmines. that is if you have the spare time to farm the chests. its a low chance so i wont recommend it. just farm other nodes and youll notice a silver/gold soon.

I had a big need of silver ore right about... now. Thought of AH, but the prices there - much too steep for me. So I went on a searching spree in north of Redridge Mountains and the first two nodes I met there were silver nodes (7 silver in all). Good luck and good searching skills needed, and you can find it anywhere, really.

a rather funny thing about silver is that, dispite its apparent abundacy, veins are very rare. its often complete luck that you will run into one. however i have found more silver among the Boulderfist Ogre Mount and the cliffs of the Arathi Highlands than in any other place. i would highly recommend mining in Arathi if you plan on making you silver runs efficient and profitable.

Lesser Bloodstone ore is a good alternative if using for leveling and not gold.

This can be found in the cave near 82,3 35,8 in arathi highlands.

If you are trying to level up your mining in this zone, but you can't mine Iron, make sure you mark the nodes so you know where they are, as you will probably pass a bunch like I did. If you use Gatherer, right click the node. It will say you are too low to mine the node but it will still remember.

Also don't forget to hit up the cave north-east of Hammerfall. It's full of Lesser Bloodstone nodes that got me to 125.

This site says silver veins are most common in The Hinterlands, but I ran all over the whole zone, and all I found was 1 vein of silver, about 5 veins of tin, and a few iron, which I can't mine yet anyway. Same goes for Hillsbrad Foothills. NO silver AT ALL.

Arathi Highlands is a great place to find silver, but make sure that you make at least two rounds. On the first round, mine every vein that you come across, whether it is silver, tin, or iron. The reason for this is that, as stated previously, silver is a rare spawn of iron and tin. So after you get all the iron and tin when you come back for your second round some of it should have spawned as silver or gold veins. On my first run I got one silver vein with three silver ores. But, on my second round I saw THREE silver veins and one gold vein so after two rounds i had a total of 9 silver ores and four gold ores.

Jangolode Mine in westfall is good because there have something like 12-15 Tin Veins and the Silver veins generally spawn from Tin Veins.In westfall i go in the Jangolode Mine and In the Gold Coast Quarry i farmed 18 silver ores. There`s have 5 keep points:
Make 2 rounds;
In the first round mine all veins.
In the second round go everywhere you mined.
If you not find much silver you can repeat the rounds every15 mins.
REMEMBER:you have to wait some time between the first and the second round(20-25 minutes is enought to silver veins to spawn).

Silver veins are hard to find and any and all who mine in your group will leave you for dead just to mine it. I always rn through Redride, Hillsbrad, Arathi and sometimes Loch Modan for Silver.

I have 115 mining and the only thing that nets me any skill points for it is smelting silver(Even then, it's yellow) I've only ever found 1 vein with 3 pieces of ore in it :( the AH prices are far too steep for me(level 35 with 40 gold). getting to 125 to mine iron will be tough T_T

Best place to find and farm this is definitely northern stranglethorn in my opinion (in case someone cares- which no.one does). With some tactical moving you can get silver at lvl 7-10. i got 14 silver at lvl 12.

Best place has to be N. Stranglethorn. There are 2 caves that are usualy filled with them and I would walk out with 10-15 ores everytime. I just run between the 2 caves and pick up any I find in between. In about 10 minutes I got 1 1/2 stacks.

EDIT: Also like to note I got the same amount of tin as well. So make sure you grab the tin veins as well if you want silver to spawn faster.

So far, I've been to Stranglethorn, Wetlands, Arathi and Barrons and Hillsbrad. So far, only ONE silver node. I have tons and tons of tin and iron.

I so totally hate this with every inch of my heart imagine not having only mining to upgrade but ALSO Jewelcrafting... and that only with silver its just so :@
Any way i got 3 nodes in desolace 0 in feralas despite i searched a LOT and 1 in ashenvale i think and that was so pure luck...

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Feralas... The upper part (near the twin mountains) is a great valley to circle. Loads of iron, and occasionaly a silver vein. This would be my best bet, because it's also easy to run...

it doesnt matter really i got past silver ore just by smelting copper and tin for bronze then i did that for awhile and went too iron im finding alot of tin about 23 veins in N. stranglethorn ive gotten about five silver veins and 14 silver ore what im saying is that if you have a flying mount you can go about anywhere and find silver just about anywhere that tin is you see tin o yippee silver has got too be here somewhere its like hide and seek really

White squares= very commonly found there. Yellow= few there.

Places where Tin veins spawn will randomly and rarely spawn into Silver veins. Same goes for Iron/Mithril veins spawning into Gold veins.

Hi there!

I've fount a cave that's not on the map, but it has 5-6 Silver vein in one place.
It's in Ashenvale under raynewood retreat at the road crossing. if you turn on your mineral tracker, you'll find it.

in regards to unknown cave, maybe he means the shady nook, its the upsidedown u under the raynewood retreat sign on the map. it had an iron mine when I went in but possibly spawns silver too, im gonna wait around + find out ^^

yes the place mentioned 1 up is true but every pass has 2 silver veins. its a silver mine "gold mine." if u are just trying to lvl mining this is a good b=place to get silver.

I found a lot of silver ore in the shady nook. Thats in ashenvale, on the right side off raynwoods retreat, on the other side off the road to felwood. lvl 25 bears outside, empty inside.LOTS OFF SILVER :))

ok now 1 thing: silver veins are rare spawns of tin veins just to make that clear. thats also why you can search all of arathi highlands or go to the cave in ashenvale or the rock in wetlands and not find a single one whilste someone here on thottbot said that they found alot. so if you want to mine silver, you either have to be patient or just look on the AH for some cheap silver, cause once in a blue moon you may find a single ore or stack of ores that is cheap (if u see a stack of 20 of ores or bars for between 1 and 5g, buy it cause on most servers u can sell a stack for like 30g, and thats if ur like me and undermine everyone else).

Please don't spam me about this, as it is only my opiniyon and u don't hav to belive any word of it.

Blizzard should put in more silver nodes! Higher lvl stuff is easier to find! There is 1 vein that i know of it is somewhere in the Barrens near the Crossroads. Dont know that exact name of the place but its in the place where all the harpies are. Hope it helps

I'm currently in Stelstone Mnts. right now and I found prob 1 silver in the whole place... but in Deadmines, I found about 5.
But in Stelstone, there is alot of Tin. I even found 1 Iron deposit... but my mining isn't high enought for it though. But Silver is very, very rare to find in any known place in WoW.

I was in the cave at the Wetlands not long ago, I did find silver, it spawned at the mouth of the cave.

The place is good to level, but silver is rare...I see silver in the odd place, but only JUST got high enough to actually mine it. >.<

I found about 3 silver veins, about 5 tin veins, and about 10 Iron Veins in Arathi Highlands, but I guess it was my lucky day to what you guys have said. So Arathi Highlands is good for iron and tin, but not so sure on silver.

Try and look on a totally unknown place, called Unknown. Unknown where it is, just look there.

silver ore really is rare sight and theres no point in looking for it cos its completely random u'd just be wasting ur time. best to get it of ah were ppl just get lucky and sell it. it may cost but its 1 of the only ways to get minning up. so yea when u get to this stage in minning u realy just stay stuck....

ther are all kinds of veins in southshore,so just run around(or if u have a mount, ride on it)and have ur mineral tracking on! u will find tin and silver veins all over the place! Just look at the map above and you'll see what i mean lol!

Anywhere there are a lot of tin veins - Silver is a rare spawn on tin, just like Gold is a rare spawn on Iron.

What zone is the best to get alot of silver veins?
Please just recomend a specific zone, i dont know where to find tin viens so telling mr to go where tins veins are isnt very helpful.

silver is tough for everyone. I found the most I've ever seen without tons of travel in the Wetlands. Easier for Alliance who have quests since they have a reason to be there besides mining, but certainly doable for both.

Mining Silver requires level 75 skill.
After level 125, nodes become Green and will rarely level you up.
After level 175 skill, nodes become Gray and you will no longer gain skill level.

The best strategy I've found and used to get about 4 stacks/day:
Ghostlands
Find the Bleeding Ziggurat
At the NE side, overlooking the Scar, there is a Silver Vein that spawns Silver 100% of the time.

I've timed it and the respawn time seems to range from 5-15 min.

I park my miner there, play on alts, do some work, cook lunch, learn to juggle, stare at a wall, read, or do a variety of things.

A very good, laid back way to stack some silver.
