Quite possibly the easiest way to level Cooking from 50 to 125. These are fished by the truckload in almost any waters that yield small brilliant smallfish. Fish in Ironforge for about 20 minutes and you've got yourself 75 Cooking skill points in no time. After that you can easily get another 25 skill points from Tangy Clam Meat (Goblin Deviled Clams, trainer) and get to 150 Cooking. Really cheap at the auction house since people vastly underestimate their value, my server usually has 1 stack per 4 silver. The only real downside is you have to find a vendor that sells the recipe to cook these, but there are many many of them.

Finally found a recipe for this (Alliance). It's in Ironforge, in the Forlorn Cavern. A girl named Tansy Puddlefizz sells the recipe, it's 3.8sp and requires Cooking 50. If you ask one of the guards where a Fishing Trainer is, they will probably direct you to this building; the trainer is on the top floor and the Fishing Supplies vendor (Tansy) is on the ground floor.

Another place to buy this recipe (for Horde) which I discovered after going to UC: the cooking vendor near the cooking trainer in TB. So for any noobie fishers like myself, I'd recommend going to TB, fish in that little pond in the middle of the city, and level both your fishing and cooking (you can buy the recipes for all 3 fish you can catch in that lake). Hope this helps.

I stumbled on this place by accident, just out of curiosity.

The northern pond in Astranaar, fished and the only two types I caught, on just about every cast with a skill of 75,

Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish
Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper

3 to 1 ratio.

Used the Blump Family Fishing Pole (+3 to fishing) and Aquadynamic Fish Lens (+50 for 10 minutes)
