Terrorfish can be fished out of any lake in Wintergrasp--no need to search for schools. They will come in the same drop as Nettlefish, Glacial Salmon, or Musselback Sculpin, which will ensure you get a few Fish Feasts for your troubles.

Despite the fact that this can stack up to 20, like most (but not all) quest items you will no longer receive any once you reach 10. No stocking up on these for later use.

Untrue. You only catch junk if your total fishing skill is below the skill required to prevent it. IE, the fishing skill to prevent catching junk in Grizzly Hills is 475, so your total fishing skill has to be 475 or higher to prevent catching junk. You don't need a lure.

You cannot collect quest items while you are in raid. You cannot fishup any quest fish if you are in raid.

On Nordrassil there's perhaps a few Alliance pigs around Wintergrasp sometimes - But mostly you can fish and grind eternals in peace.

Can be caught with a skill of 265. Can't test lower but might intrest someone.

I got my first one at 64 fishing skill.
I leveled from 0-64 in WG, and got my first at 64,
P.S. had a +10 fishing skill thing on.

So.. 74 fishing skill :P

I actually recieved the quest to catch these at like 10 fish skill today havent tried to catch them yet but the quest was available to me.

Edit: Kinda like how the crocs in the city quest is available with a skill of 1, so would think this quest has no skill requirment for these guys.

I had around a 3% drop rate on these suckers, but then again, I had a fishing skill of 135 when I started. Raised it to 166 before I got four Terrorfish. I'm still working on it, and only have four, ive been doing this quest for at least an hour.

no, while his wording was not very accurate, I know what he's saying and he's right. There is no call what-so-ever for a PvE quest to have objectives in a PvP area. I'm on a PvE server and I absolutely can not stand to be flagged, it makes me sick to my stomach and it's a feeling that most people will not be able to understand, so if you have a response that's along the lines of "it's not that bad", just save it.

For all of you that realize what I say is true, please visit blizzards world of warcraft forums under suggestions. Search for "Dangerously Delicious has got to go". And back me up.

So basically, you give your opinions on the issue, but if someone else has a differing opinion, you tell them to "save it". Why don't you save it. If you don't want to go to a pvp zone, don't go. If doing the quest is more important than avoiding pvp, then suck it up and get it done. You will probably be fishing with a handful of other faction players just outside your faction flight point anyways, so you will have strength in numbers.

During the Wintergrasp battle, I found a spot in Dragonblight that I could still fish up the terrorfish.

Starting from Icemist Viallage, I headed west, then north to the edge of the Dragonblight map. There should be a waterfall coming off of Wintergrasp and I landed at the top of the waterfall and walked around.

The best spot I found that had the least 'the water is too shallow' messages was at (12.4, 40.4). While the mini map says you're still in Dragoniblight, face northeast and you should be looking at where the snow meets a rock-looking terrain.

I managed to catch all my terrorfish here during a Wintergrasp battle while physically in Dragonblight.

This has to be a Blizz ill concieved Daily, got it today for the first time & the timer for Winters grasp was on 2hrs

Not much of a daily that if you cannot get in when you only have a short time to play.

Unless there is another way in for sub 77 / 80 players its a problem.

Just to let lvl 70's know who want to do this quest, you can only get there through the portal. No other way besides lock summon.

Took me 78 casts to get my 10 fish. I started at 244 fishing and ended at 255. I was using a +50 lure only, and it was before and then immediately at the beginning of a WG match so it is possible to catch them while a battle is going on.

Where is the portal located?

The portals to Wintergrasp are located in Dalaran's Silver Enclave for the Alliance and Sunreaver's Sanctuary for the Horde. These are the areas where opposite-faction players get teleported out, and each Wintergrasp portal is just one of many portals that can be used to visit capital cities and queue for battlegrounds. The areas are identified on your map of Dalaran.

Just to let lvl 70's know who want to do this quest, you can only get there through the portal.

If you only have one character, you can fly into Wintergrasp at level 77 after learning Cold Weather Flying. If you already have an 80 character who knows Cold Weather Flying, you can purchase the Tome of Cold Weather Flight and send it to another character on the same account which they can use to learn Cold Weather Flying at a minimum level of 68. Since you can learn Expert Riding at level 60 to ride non-epic flying mounts, an alt should be able to fly into Wintergrasp at level 68 at the earliest.

Players can fly in to or out of Wintergrasp via the flight master near the attackers' rally point. The Horde rally point is on the west side beyond the western goblin workshop (also known as the Broken Temple), and the Alliance rally point is north-east of the eastern goblin workshop (also known as the Sunken Ring).

So I ran into a little trouble one day trying to do this quest. I was extremely short on time and the Battle was about to start. I was aware of that fact that you cannot do the quest while in a raid group and that if you don't join the raid you will be ported out so I did a little scouting. I found a place, (27,36) that is considered dragonblight, but you can cast into the rock and still catch the terrorfish. It is a little tricky sometimes getting to the lure where you click to reel the fish in but it always works for me. This is a spot on the ledge in southern WG just about the waterfalls that go down into Dragonblight. I uploaded a screenie that will hopefully be approved! I just used a bauble and my +25 rod from the Hinterlands quest and got it done in a bout half an hour with a 175 fishing skill. Just go to the closest lake in WG

I do this quest no matter who is in control of Wintergrasp. You don't have to wait until your side has control. Just make sure roving bad guys don't see you. I do not stealh, around either, I just do the quest, port to Dal and turn it in. No more than 10 minutes.

as of 4.0.3 the drop rate for terrorfish is horrible. expect to take 5x as long to catch your 10 terrorfish

4.0.6, and droprate is still horrible.
Been fishing for 20 minutes or so now, and got 5 so far.

It took me just under 30 mins to catch all of them. my first 4 took fifteen minutes. then the next one didn't come until 30-35 catches later. Be patient guys. My fishing went from 200 to 220. i am yet to try it during a BG.

I fished in the area right next to the Cauldron of Flames in Wintergrasp and caught my ten in five minutes. My fishing skill was 410 + 130 from the lure and pole, so that probably helped a bit. It's the first time I've done this daily, so I'm glad that it can be done pretty quick.

Didn't see this mentioned, but if you're fishing Terrorfish for the daily, you can't do it while there's a battle on in Wintergrasp. I fished 30+ times and didn't catch any. Wasn't until the battle was over that I got any. Not sure if you can leave the raid group or not though.

cannot be fished during the wotlk classic version. you must fly into the wintergrasp zone since the new wintergrasp is coded as a BG

For Wrath Classic: This can be caught at any time, when you have the daily. You need to fly to Wintergrasp and fish in any lake. I did this with 450 fishing and got one about every 3 casts. We did not control Wintergrasp at this time.
