Drops from XT-002 Deconstructor 25-man (not hard mode, those are ilevel 239) in Ulduar. Best-in-slot for both hunters and druids that aren't hit-capped. If you're hit-capped, Lotrafen, Spear of the Damned is obviously better (comparison between the two).

If Journey's End mated with Black Ice, produced an offspring, and sent it to military school for refinement, Twisted Visage would be the end result.

The is an amazing staff for both Druid Physical DPS and Hunters, alike. NO bad stats are wasted on this item.

And now for your enjoyment, here's a stupid anecdote:
A nearly perfect staff goes on a long voyage to The Storm Peaks to find himself and for many months is unsuccessful. Summer and Fall seasons pass and winter begins to set in. The staff is on the verge of giving up. One day he finds himself caught in a BLIZZARD and is on the verge of giving up. Suddenly he slips on a patch of Black Ice and lands flat on his face. He is taken to the Emergency Room and the doctors attempt to repair his face. He never made it to his Journey's End and is now unfortunately left with only a Twisted Visage...

The only difference is Armor Penetration and Hit Rating so people will get this items depeding on what they need.

Got it tonight. After 2h30 of wipes we finally downed him.
And he did enrage several times at 2 % and so...

Very good tanking weapon. Got mangoose on it.
You trade down a little stam but boy. The agi and the savage defense bonus you get.

Ferals... unless you are in a top-notch raiding guild, do not hold out for Lotrafen and pick this up, as it drops significantly earlier in the instance.

This is a huge upgrade from Journey's End and is available right off the bat in Ulduar. I picked this up recently, luckily both hunters passed, so we didn't have any drama over the melee weapon vs hunter debate. Once we get to Vezax, I plan on passing on Lotrafen, Spear of the Damned to the hunters.

As a hunter that already has lotrafen, I'm still using this to make up for losses of hit rating. Sure I can use the FL hit rating trinket, or pickup more of that useless T8.5 hunter pieces, but this isn't awfully terrible for agi stacking hunters. I imagine its just about as valued to hunters as it is to cat DPS so if you have druids in your raid, don't feel bad spending DKP on this item over them.

this gear are the best cat dps than polearms weapon! if u are cat druid dps you get 5-6k dps raid or 5man pve. if u have that staff... for the hunter! you get the polearms to get big stat. only cat can hadle for the best gear of this staff! and also this one are best tank gear on druid because hit caps!

Since 3.0.8 there has been quite a spirited debate as to whether feral druids should be given preference over hunters when staves or polearms such as this one drops in a raid.

No one seems to question whether DPS warriors, paladins and death knights should be given higher priority on two-handed weapons versus hunters; in general, the consensus is that the physical dps classes who use these weapons gain a much higher proportion of their DPS from their equipped weapon, and that hunters merely use the stats from their melee weapon. However, when it comes to druids and hunters, those involved in the discussion seem to come down reasonably evenly between the two points of view:

1) Druids do not actually use the weapon in question (they use their claws), and therefore utilize only the stats on their melee weapon much as hunters do. In this case, hunters and druids should have equal priority.
2) Druids derive a great deal of attack power from their equipped weapon, which approximates the DPS gained by other melee DPS classes from their melee weapons. In this case, druids should receive the same preference as other melee classes, much as hunters receive priority over rogues and warriors in terms of ranged weapons.

So which of these points of view is more accurate? To find out, I decided to do a test, based on some accepted DPS models (elitistjerks and Toskk's gear method). Using full Naxx-25 (ilvl 213) gear for all three classes and the accepted best talents/glyphs, I ran DPS simulations for all three classes with and without their weapons equipped (giving the hunter and rogue beginning bows and daggers, as they can't actually do DPS with no weapon at all). For comparison, I also did the simulation with and without the T7.5 legs for each class, as the leg slot grants the most stats beside the weapon slot. Each class uses the same weapons as much as possible (Black Ice for the druid and hunter melee, Nerubian Conqueror for hunter and rogue ranged, Anarchy/Webbed Death for rogue melee). Here are the results:

Normal DPS (all items equipped)
Druid: 6750.1, Hunter: 6428.0, Rogue: 6377.9

DPS with T7.5 leggings unequipped
Druid: 6289.9 (-6.8%), Hunter: 6026.8 (-6.2%), Rogue: 5808.7 (-8.9%)

DPS with no melee weapon/starter melee weapons equipped
Druid: 4967.1 (-26.4%), Hunter 5976.7 (-7.0%), Rogue 5027.8 (-21.2%)

DPS with no ranged weapon/starter weapon equipped
Druid: N/A, Hunter 5543.1 (-13.8%), Rogue 6259.0 (-1.9%)

Obviously this test is far from conclusive, but if it is even remotely representative, druids receive a substantially larger proportion of their dps from their equipped weapon (certainly equivalent to rogues, similar tests should be run for other melee classes). These results do indicate to me that if raids are giving other melee DPS classes loot priority on melee weapons, feral druids should be included in that loot priority. Hunters, I realize that these weapons are great upgrades for you and do make a difference in DPS, but it's really not any more of a difference than other major slots such as chest and legs. Let the ferals roll first.

very good transmorg for mages looking for a red staff.

There arent many out there and even less that go so well with red or related mage outfits like this rather good looking staff does.
