Hmm. How is this going to work? Click pet, then click rope? Click rope, then click pet? Enchant pet with rope so it's always on?

I just wouldn't want my pets on a rope all the time. I'd like to think they're trained enough to just follow me. ;)

The only bad thing about this item is when your pet gets too far away from you the leash disappears. This can happen when you're running around and changing direction alot.

Currently, you can not shoot a ranged weapon with this equipted on your pet so might be best to use this only in town.

Not sure how you can really put a leash on a ball of slime though.. (Disgusting Oozeling)

Edit: As well, it seems that when you mount up and move ahead of your pet by 10 yards the leash snaps and has to be reapplied.

Those ghosts do appear in Hunter's "Track Undead" though... So I'm gonna go test this out, brb 1 minute.

Edit: First of all this was @ Karashk.
I tryed it on my hunter... i used /cast rope pet leash
used /cast rope pet leash scourge haunt
and well... when i moused over my pet it showed an icon... but i couldnt target it
also... it just appeared as friendly, it did not have a title, thus it is not techinically a companion...
but good news is i found out it is lvl 1 :D

They really need to extend the length of the Pet Leash, so that it stays on your pet even when you mount up and it trails behind you.

If you try to autofollow someone while you have the leash equipped you'll get an error "You're too busy to follow anything"

I love this item!

However I ran into a problem that drove me nuts for a few min till I backtracked and realized it was this; you can't change any items while you have your leash out to your pet. Anytime you try to change any item it will say 'You can't do that yet'

So if anyone can't change any weapons/armor/trinket/rings it might be the leash that's out.

Im surprised noone else tried this on an Argent Squire. Well I dressed up real nice with suit and bunny ears to go for a walk with my new pet boi...couldnt leash him :(

there is a strange bug with this item in that when it is active on your pet, you must auto attack and hit a mob (going +combat) to use any other special abilities (e.g. IT on my DK).

it made me crazy while instancing the other night until i figured out what was wrong.

i suspect that while it's in your "hand" the game does not recognize that you have any weapons equipped and thus, special abilities are not available.

for the more evil individuals, like me, who believe slavery is awesome (just kidding :D) there is as far as i found 1 type of humanoid the leash definitely works on, a Curious Wolvar Pup . it might also work on its oracle counterpart, but didn't get my hands on that one, so i couldn't test him.

Rumor had it this leash would allow you to tame any lvl 1 creature as your 'pet' until dismissed. I couldn't get it to work that way.

What it did do was put a rope leash on my own pet, so it looked like I was leading it around.

NOTE!

USING THIS ITEM WILL DISALLOW THE THE REMOVAL OR EQUIPPING OF ITEMS. THE ONLY WAY TO EQUIP AND UNEQUIP YOUR ARMOUR AND WEAPONS IS TO DISMISS YOUR PET.

Also note, that going afk automatically will not sit your character on the ground. You will remain standing regardless, whilst your roped to your pet.

doesn't work on humanoid pets :/ that means orphans/argent squires cannot be put on said leashes, they're actually IMMUNE >:O what a rip-off
