I'm not really sure if it's glitched or just me, but Shadowglen (60, 43) Wont explore for me... Is anyone else encountering this problem ?

The easiest way to get into Teldrassil is by jumping off the boat right before entering the docks, and swimming west. You will eventually come to a giant root(one of many, I know) at about 25,92. Run up the root as far as you can(27 to 28.90 was as far as I could get) leap off the root at this point and fall to your death, you should appear at the Dolanaar gy res; and voila! you're in!

Easy for level 80 Horde. No need to jump off boats searching for roots to climb up, jump and kill yourself.

Just ride the boat from Darkshore mounted, ride up into the portal from the docks (obvious pink glow up the rise from the dock), ride from the portal out the front gate in Darnassus (east). I only saw two ally on my ride through Darnassus and neither took an interest in me.

Watch out for the roving elite huntresses when you come through the portal. I got netted by one, though was not knocked off my mount and simply rode through the gate as soon as the net effect wore off, though I was low on health.

How to get into Teldrassil as horde & not die! I thought this was going to be a lot more tricky than it was. What I did: explored all of westfall & with my swim speed potions swam from the longshore at the top right of the map to Stormwind harbor. I got in my mount & ran to the boat to Darkshore, I thought the guards would keep attacking me & I'd just die & I'd simply ride the boat there & usually you'd be alive on the other side (This did not happen so if you die on the boat I don't know if you'll res on the other side) but as soon as I got on the boat nothing was attacking me, so I simply road the boat to Darkshore, ran across the dock & jumped on the boat to Teldrassil (it seems that the guards don't attack you as soon as you jump on the boat, (I don't know if this was coincidence, luck, or just the way things work). When I got there I ran straight into the purple portal to Darnassus & ran through the city & made it out on the other side with 46% life to spare (as a 77 hunter in mediocre gear) & I didn't even have to Feign Death, so I'm sure most other people can do this with no problem! Make sure to watch out for the lvl 80 elite on the black tiger at the top of the purple-carpeted ramp on your way out! Then proceed to explore the rest of Teldrassil. And then of course there is the daunting task of getting out. You could just hearth or course, but whet if you have more to explore & your hearth is in Dalaran? Well, getting out was a lot easier than getting in, I got dazed once after I jumped through the purple portal & made it to the boat with 78% life. Now off to explore Ashenvale!

Real easy to do without dieing on the boat. as a druid or rouge. just stealth or Prowl get on the very back edge of the boat you wont be detected. Jump off when you get close to the docks stealth again. discover the village then run through the portal stealthed. if die now you should be fine But i found it easy to just take the outside edge of the city to the gates without dieing. because the portal doesnt break stealth when you use it. just be sure to get away from the lvl 75's before they see you. Just have to worry about players seeing you

I didn't bother looking for a root to jump off of...you just need to be far enough to the west that the graveyard up in the tree will work...swim west until you find a fairly large flat space (near 35,93) and drown yourself at the far end from the dock, as close to the tree as you can be and still be underwater.

(EDIT): and you CAN corpse run from Darkshore to Teldrassil. Go straight north from the River mouth at the north end of Darkshore, to the northmost point of non-endurance loss (shows up as a lighter color on your minimap) and run Northwest. When you see the "Teldrassil" zone warning, watch your minimap and head for the light shallow area as soon as it becomes visible. I did this with 1/4 of the Endurance bar left.

No problem at all for my lvl80 rogue in stealth. Just walked straight through Darnassus and avoided the huntress. Only mistake was topping to look at map too soon after leaving the city, but even then I just sprinted out of combat. This was my last step on the Explorer achievement.

not going for the explorer achievement yet, but this is the last stop for Explore Kalimdor

Just did it on a 63 druid, died as i went through the portal thanks to guards on the Darnassus side, but res'd at Dolanaar and continued on my way. Now on to Azuremyst and Bloodmyst =)

Here's how I did it with a level 70 belf mage...
1. Port to Orgrimmar
2. Fly to Zoram'Gar Outpost
3. Ride to Auberdine and then wait for the boat to Rut'Theran Village(I ran past all the guards, just had to kill the ones next to the boat but they're easy... Level 40 non-elites I think...
4. Ride on boat mounted( Surprisingly no one on the boat attacked me :D)
5. Run to the purple portal to Darnassus and then as soon as you go in Darnassus use
6. Enjoy and explore :)

With my 80 Shaman i just rode through Darnassus. Got a few hits but none hurted me really hard.

It would be an awesome thing to add which boat in Auberdine. If you are facing out to the sea from the docks, it is the boat on the right hand side of the docks.

Also, if you are a paladin, I highly recommend that you use your epic mount and your crusader aura and run through Daranasus. I made it through the city and only lost about 2k health. Just keep running until you lose the guards. It was a lot easier that I though. I was a lvl 76 blood elf paladin when I did this.

You can use a water walking potion from Lordanil over to Rutheran =) I just did that for Thanksgiving event on my tauren. Took boats to both Exodar/Azuremyst Isle and Stormwind. Make sure you use the potion at the closest part so you don't fatigue die!

For Horde: As of 4.0.3 and the "old-world-flying", just fly to Lor'Danel and fly over to Rut'theran, enter the purple Portal under the tree and explore Darnassus. Or you could just ignore the portal and fly directly into the city (Didn't try that)

Then take the boat to Bloodsong/Azuremyst and explore there. The boat goes from the far western pier (the purpleish colored one with a crew on it).

For your low-level toons without flying, it is possible to get to Teldrassil (and then by boat to Azuremyst Island the old way). You'll need an Elixir of Water Walking. Travel west of Lor'Danel in Darkshore. Swim northwest just to the point where fatigue sets in. Back up to shallow water, pop the elixir, mount, and then walk to Rut'theran Village. My 42nd level rogue covered the distance with about 30%-40% fatigue remaining.

I suspect that if you die from fatigue, you still will have made it to Teldrassil waters and be able to rez there.

Did this today on 85 mage. Simply fly from the ruins to Rutheran, you can make it during the fatigue timer since you can fly. You will encounter some guards at the Vale of Ammen. Expect to die a couple of times. Each death I inched past the guards. Invisibility does not work as they will detect you. I'd love to brag and say that this was hard... but it wasn't.

If you have trouble "discovering" the Pools of Arlithrien, fly over the very right side of the "Darnassus" banner/scroll on the map. (40, 58)

Shadowglen can also be discovered by heading up the mountains on its west side (a path leads up to Furlbogs there) and walking/jumping down to 52,36. No risk of aggroing guards/NPCS, and the mobs are all 7-9. Easy peasy.

The downside is that if you can't fly, you won't be able to get back up over the mountains -- so do this spot last, and then you can hearth out once you get the achieve.

Ok so, I tried to find a way for Horde players that dont have Cataclysm expansion and looking to complete the Explore Kalimdor achievement and im glad to say that I found one!
Here is the prerequisites for getting to teldrassil as a horde player:

- Journeyman Riding , need to be atleast at Lvl. 40.
- Elixir of Water Walking , you can get one of these at the auction house for about 10g each.
- A mount (Duuuhhh!)

Now, after you got all of the above its very simple

1) Go to Lor'Danel in Darkshore
2) Make sure that your heading for Rut'Theran Village, you wont have much time before the fatigue start kicking.
3) Buff yourself with the elixir
4) Mount
5) RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!

Note that Swim Speed Potion wont work! it gives you 134% swiming speed(2x67% swiming speed) which is not enough if you want to get to teldrassil without dying.
Also note that Elixir of Water Walking wont share cooldown with healing potions which is great if you need a few more seconds before the fatigue disapears!

I had trouble finding The Cleft, as I'd revealed the whole map without finding it. It's the cave on the map northwest of Dolannar.

Finding Rut'theran Village gave me a hard time.

Note to others: You need to teleport there, via portal, located in Darnassus.
