It is true, the Alliance version of this achievement does not require you to go to Northrend, as this, the Horde version, does. This is a moot point though. WotLK will be out by Christmas (or the Feast of Winter Veil) so as long as you're a high enough level to go to Northrend you can get it this December.

To get the Mistletoe, all you need to do is type /kiss while having a Winter Reveler as your target. You may also get a Fresh Holly or Handful of Snowflakes when doing the /kiss.

Note: You need to be level 77 or higher to enter Icecrown and throw the Mistletoe at Brother Keltan there.
I assume it's possible to be summoned there though.

Has anyone else thrown the mistletoe at the npc but not gotten credit in the achievement panel?

It took me a while to figure out how I was going to do this but got it done as a level 72.

First things first get Mistletoe!

Second mount up on your land mount and make your way to Icecrown. You can get there by land by going through Crystalsong and then passing through Argent Vanguard, which is kind of where the borders of Icecrown, Crystalsong and Storm Peaks meet.

Once in Icecrown make your way up the right hand side of the map following the Mountains on the right. Head to a place called Sindragosa’s Fall. If you look at the flight path of the Zeppelin it passes through the mountains North West of words “Sindragosa’s Fall” through a little valley in the northern mountains.

What you want to do is get to the valley it passes through on its way down when it turns around and starts heading south. It’s a clear snowy area with a big drop off that’s only accessible on foot by going round the back of the mountains where some penguins are.

Once you are there head to the rocks right of the valley and you will see a jagged sticky out bit. Jump off it a few times till you die!

When you die you get given a flying spectral griffin mount to get back to your body. What you need to do is fly up in the air over your body till the Zeppelin comes around and passes through the mountains where you died. If you are in the right spot you will be able to res yourself in the air and into the Zeppelin as it passes!

Walk up to the main deck and plant a big sloppy kiss with your Mistletoe on Brother Keltan for me!

Relatively easy to get Keltan for a Pally...

Go to the above valley with a friend, stand atop the pinnacle that sticks up at the western end of the valley, Divine Intervene on your friend, you can then easily rez on the lower deck/port gunports.
Guessing a 'lock can just Hellfire themselves to death and a Warrior jump about to lose most of their health, last stand, jump some more, stand on top of the pinnacle then die when LS drops. Not sure about other classes!

The earlier tactic with being a wasp didn't work for me, I just changed back as soon as I exited the sewer.

Edit: I tried doing this with falling suicides but couldn't get the position right, my method allows you to choose exactly where you die.

Mages can do this without dying, after you get to the area. All you need is an epic mount and slowfall.

To the left of the aforementioned clearing, there is what -looks- like a path leading north up the slope, but ends. From that area, you can climb (on your mount, but walking is far safer since its easy to fall off) almost to the very top peak of that area of the mountain.

You want to aim for the second highest point, which is 65.79, 30.58

From there, wait for the transport to get relatively close when it's in the valley that it flies through, cast slowfall, mount up and jump.

I actually landed on the bottom deck the first time I tried, but then immediately fell through a hole in the floor...

LOL, 3 hours wasted for what could have taken 5 minutes if I just thought of it sooner.... I had made it to the topmost peak several times but it never occurred to me that I might already be high enough to slowfall....

For all the non-mages, there's also the engineer Parachute Cloak and Olaf's All Purpose Shield

I just lost 2 hours of my life. I had to keep doing hellfire to kill myself, as I am a lock, just to get higher and higher up the mountain... Each time I had to wait 2 minutes just to rez and do it all over again. Thanks Blizz for making this achievement not so merry :(

k here is a easy way..bring a friend duel each other on the higest ledge(63.30ish) jump towards the back of the cliff u should land in the middle part fly back and u should be high enough to get on the ship.after we jumped around like fools for 20m this is the best way if u have a friend to help:)good luck

Did this as a 74 warrior using the Dark Rune trick. You have to get your health pretty low as the dark rune was only taking 480-700 health from my toon (HP 7800 naked).

From the little peak if you jump (mounted) to the north side you take about 6-10% of HP as fall damage, while jumping to the west takes off about 30-40%. Be careful not to jump too far to the southwest as a lower section of the slope is unclimbable. It can be easy to run off the side of the little peak and fall to your death too.

As a warrior, once you get to a low enough health (around 500) you can stand on the peak, use Bloodrage to drop your health to the minimum possible then use the Dark Rune to suicide. Once the zeppelin arrives wait for it to get level with the peak. It drops altitude as it goes past, so although it looks like you won't make it, just wait a bit and you will be able to rez inside the lower level.

For those of you who are 70 and are complaining that you don't have cold weather flying, here is your solution:

If you go to Storm Peaks, K3, there is a guy next to the flightmaster who sells "Used Mounts". If you don't have cold weather flying he will give you a mount that is like a vehicle. You can use those mounts in Storm Peaks and Icecrown. So mount up, get to K3, grab your free vehicle, and fly on up.

According to wowhead you need to be lvl 77 to use the loaned flying mount, so that doesn't really help unless you are a 77 and simply don't have the money for cold weather flying.

"Honest" Max only says "Greetings, friend. Something I can do for ya?" if you speak to him at lvl 70. I don't know if there are any quest prerequisites.

For those who can't self kill and can't get a lock and 2 77+ with winter flying to help , or yer having a hard time with the /dismount spam left click rez and die technique...here's something a little more simple that I discovered. Just requires two people instead of one. Make it up to the hill using the above coordinates (63.38, 30.25) Have a duel, then jump off the more steep side of the hill there. You'll die. Then get on the ghost flappy (Gryph) and fly back.Wait til the bus (Zepplin) comes into the area and fly into the hold using the open cannon door. then go to the lowest point on the ship (where the floor looks like netting) towards the back and wait.. This should net you a Rez button and your achievement will be within your grasp. Worked for me. Good luck. =^.^=

P.S. I'll make a screen shot of exactly where you should die if you use this technique in a bit.... when ever I get back there. I'm so sick of that one particular area after trying for this for two days -.- Shouldn't be hard to find though.

The SOUTH side of the gap pass is much easier.
Only 1 death required - go to the south side, the right- or west-most snowramp.
You should be able to jump off to the NW and take some decent fall damage (we duelled each other down, then did it in 1 jump).

When the zepp pat's by, you need to be as far north + vertical as you can be and still have the respawn now popup.

When you see the zepp coming, it will seem way too high. IT DESCENDS.
You should be able to get to a place where you can respawn on the 2nd or last portside gunner platforms. NOTE: they do clip you, as a ghost, so you'll slide under the 1st, and the 2nd will bonk you down in altitude, and you need to popup in the next gap and then respawn to drop onto the platform.
The trick is to line up left-right FIRST as it approaches, and leave yourself only vertical adjustments to screw with in the 1-2 seconds you'll have to pop.

We got it, 1st time.

Using Demoralizing Shout, I was able to successfully kite a bunch of the Glacier Penguins to the peak. After several minutes of 1 damage attacks, they finally managed to kill me. First time I've ever regretted Regeneration...

Wow....the way some of you are explaining this, you are making it MUCH more difficult than it really is. I don't know what all you guys are talking about with corpse-hopping up the mountain or bringing someone to duel you so you die... Forget all that...

Here are very simply and straightforward instructions to getting on the Zepplin by yourself without dark runes:

Ride to the Northeast part of Icecrown up into the mountains, up to the area roughly near 73, 27. You will be in a wide open area with some neutral penguins nearby and to the North of you will be just a dropoff the edge of Northrend
Ride West until you reach 63.6, 30.1. Precisely at this position, there is a small peak that you are able to ride/run up
Ride up this small peak
Once at the top, face back toward the Northeast
(the same direction that you ran up the small peak from)
Jump off the small peak in that direction
(It helps to be mounted as you go a little farther thru the air and take some more damage)
You should be able to repeat this four or five times until you are dead
Fly back to your body in your ghost-griffon
When the Horde Zepplin gets nearby, simply fly up into the bottom/lower level of the Zepplin
Stay on the lower level. Run back to the very back (rear) of the Zepplin
(There are a couple NPC's back there. I think its supposed to be the engine room or something)
Wait here. If you are standing in this lower-rear section of the Zepplin when it passes over your body, you will be able to resurrect.

71 sub rogue. brother is a 80 pally. went to where everyone said to die. stealthed there, no deaths.

Dueled him to get higher up on the mountain. He'd come down, duel me, fly up and I'd jump to shadowstep. redo to get to a spot higher up again. then, he got on zep, sprint, jump, shadowstep. I'm on zep without a death. use mistletoe, get achievement.

1st shot.
1: where I believe most others seem to be doing it via dying.
2. start duel, have friend fly to 2. Stealth. start jumping along wall as much as you can. If friend is at edge, should be able to shadowstep in middle of jump.
3. where friend should be.
2nd shot.
1. Previous location you jumped to.
2. where you will be trying to reach. can walk up mountain most of way.
3rd shot.
1. Stand here, duel. Friend flys to 2.
2. friend stands here, shadowstep to them.

Now, stay there till it comes in range.

4th shot.
1 is where your friend should stand. Once zep is closest it can be, make sure duel is still ongoing, hit sprint, run, jump, and you SHOULD manage to be able to shadowstep.

Now you are on the zep. Alive.

I was able to jump from a ledge at (64.4, 30.0) and resurrect on the lower decks of Orgrim's Hammer. It's a small ledge on the east side of the valley that the airship flies through. My corpse landed at (64.2, 29.5). It left me a very small window of time in which I could accept—it required the airship to get a considerable ways down, and I had to be in the cabin at the back of the ship as far down as I could get.

I would suggest that you bring a demonic rune with you and either jump off till you get below 600 hp or duel someone till you lose. After that go to the top of the rock outcropping at 63.6, 30.1 and use the demonic rune to finish the job. Fly back to you body but go up as high as you can and still rez and move to the northwest a little. You should end up in the bottom level of the Zepplin as it passes over you. Rez and mistletoe ;)

Ok i did this in like 30 mins. At first i tried it alone by using the tips given above but none of them worked as they didn't clearly specify where u need to die. I have posted a couple of screenshots so you can see where you have to die.

I got my alt druid there and killed my 72 UD Warrior on the FIRST rock down the mountain.
I then got above my body and when the ship came I RUN INSIDE THE SHIPS LOWER DECK and watched the minimap so i could see when i was right above my body. Waited there till i was just over my body, ressed and finished the achievement.

So instead of jumping find a way of killing yourself in that cliff as i didn't find i way to die on that cliff.

If you don't believe i did the achievement just look for Lunny, UD warrior on Frostmane EU.

Just a little note: If you are on Orgrim's Hammer and you kill yourself, you will automatically resurrect at the graveyard.

I was waiting as a ghost on a peak and missed my timing. Managed to get onto the fin on the back of the ship. Thought, "Hey, I'll just Hellfire myself to death, then fly back up here and resurrect on the lower deck." Alas, the game had other plans. I had to wait out another rotation. Moral of the story? You need to land on the ship's deck the first time or you're out of luck.

i submitted a screenshot, also here (http://i41.tinypic.com/14xm2o8.jpg) showing where you can die and resurrect onto the zeppelin. just die on top of the peak (i did this by dueling someone and then using a dark rune to kill myself after i lost) and wait for the vehicle to come around. you want to be on the back cannon platform on the side closest to the peak you are dead on, at least that is where it worked for me, there are probably other areas on the ship that are in range. the way i did it to make sure i didnt fall off when i rezzed was i camped on the platform for about a minute before it was in range, and just rode on the platform until the 'accept' button popped up
keltan circles around the upper level of the zepp, so dont forget your mistletoe!

A few notes about the Icecrown Brother based on my experience doing this as a level 36 warlock:

1. Lower your repair bill, leave everything in the bank.
2. Find a nice Mage in Dalaran to port you. Find the Sunreaver's sanctuary and make The Filthy Animal Inn your new hearth home.
3. Do not jump from the balcony as suggested here, if you fail, you res inside Dalaran and nobody can get to your corpse to res you because it is a no-fly zone on the exterior of Dalaran city (you cannot use the teleport to get back up to the Purple Parlor as a ghost, nor can you jump down the well). You can res at any spirit healer you find, but you will endure the res-sickness penalty. Instead, find a path to the 'Underbelly' or sewers of the city, and follow the pipe west, jump from there. You will res on the ground.
4. Go east to the Argent Vanguard camp, go north through the camp, ride/run past the giant ants, stop at the flags. When you enter the next area with the mech beetles follow the mountain to the right and head for the western 'wrist' of the fan-out roads. When you get there, there is a round building north of it - you want to go to the mountain side just east of the building and get killed by a beetle. This will put you in the Sindragosa's Fall area (you res at Silent Vigil).
5. From Silent Vigil follow the NE snow path until you get to the ridge. You will see some Weyvrn/Drakes flying and a big valley with ice in the middle. Take the snowy route to the right and circle around the lakes until you can go north over the mountains. When you see penguins, you did good.
6. Follow the snow route to the west keeping to the north of the mountains. The second snow cut inward is where you want to go (the mountain island has a 'Z' shaped snow trail on the NW side). Listen for the Zeppelin.
7. Create an alliance toon. Contact someone in the alliance that is a caster or has a ranged weapon. Have them meet you at 64,30. Either get on Vent with them, or give them good directions.
8. Follow the zeppelin above you until you see it pass low between two mountains. Although it looks like you might want to be on either of the two mountains, you want to die on the peak of rock in the middle of that valley, just before the cliff back into the ice lake area (think of this as a 'W', you want the middle peak). Climb up the rock to the top and wait for your alliance friend.
9. When your alliance friend arrives, set your PvP flag to enable him to kill you .. and all the other horde <77 sitting on the same rock. Give him the tips you receive from them via the independent AH...
10. Once you die, fly up to the zep (use space bar for lift) and land on the metal strip running down the middle of the lower section. No need to be on the gun platforms, just be low on the ship and you will get your 'resurrect' button. Click an go find the Brother, he does walk down the fore-ramp to where you are at.
11. Profusely thank your alliance friend, send them RL gifts, /kiss them, whatever. ... go take the zep to warsong hold, wander out to steam springs /love some frogs, visit all of Azaroth - you're at 100% damage anyway .. and get the red winter clothing pattern from Ironforge too.
12. Have fun, make some Gingerbread Cookies and sit back and enjoy some milk.

The jump to death trick to use the spectral mount to get on the ship no longer works. I've tried over and over again, to discover falling down no longer yields damage, henceforth you cannot use the mount to get on the ship

I read all these posts and it still required more work. Get as high as you can near 63,30, then run and jump to death as high as you can. the jump I was making caused me lose about 500hp per jump. Once almost dead, mount and make the same jump, jump as high into canyon as can. Fly back and from there you can rez at a point where you can run to the top of the pass. Once atop pass begin jumping again, the place you want to die is on a rocky outcropping at 64.46,29.97. I tried dying atop pass at 64.51,24.46 and was out of range. At 64.46,29.97 you will be able to rez easily inside the back lower level of the ship. It took me 6 passes, but this one is sure fire.

So, how to get on that ship at a lower level? I did it at 72, and with a little help from friends so can you! :D

First of all, head to 63.6,30.1 in Icecrown. Go up the mountain as closely to those coords as possible, when you look up there should be a little ledge between two spikes- a twin set of tiny steep hills sort of deal. (You don't have to worry about mobs in that area and it's pretty easy to run right past the ones on the way if you're a lower level like me.)

So there are two ways I can think to get up on that ledge (as hurtling myself to my death took me too far away), one of which I did myself. The first is to get yourself a Death Knight and Warlock that are 77+, Lock to summon you right to one of the hills, and a DK to duel you down and then Hysteria you to death. The death works because in Icecrown you get to ride a spectral epic flying mount when trying to get back to your body. Pretty sweet, isn't it? (While waiting for my friend to arrive I suicided and flew around for giggles.)

The second method is to just have a DK duel you and kill you, then fly to the ledge near your body, rez, have him duel you and kill you again to get on to one of the the hills.

(I used the second method, while slower it was pretty fun because I had a guildie helping me. He enjoyed killing my silly mage self. A lot.)

Anyways, once you are (dead) on either of the tiny hills wait for the ship to come around. If you haven't gotten a good look at it before, it has about three (or four, can't remember) gun platforms along the bottom. Just set yourself down on the first one and wait for the ship to move close enough to your body before hitting 'accept'. (I was on the farther away hill and was worried I wouldn't be close enough to rez, but luckily enough I was! very awesome)

Now you too can plan your own suicide(s) for achievements! :D

(For added fun: /em totally first bases it with Brother Keltan. You can bet I did!)

Another option is to have buddies with flying mounts summon you on a peak at the appropriate place and you can use noggenfogger or die at an appropriate height to use other tips here. Or possibly summon and have an alliance friend/person you paid to out and out kill you. I'm sure its not hard to find someone to accept free honor...

And yes... it is VERY hard on a rogue.

P.S. Keep in mind it doesn't matter how much health you have to do this. Removing stamina rings WILL NOT make it easier. Fall damage is calculated via a percentage of your total health. Not actual numbers. So whether you have 10,000 health or 100 health the loss of health you have from fall damage will be the same percentage. If it doesn't kill you at 100 health it won't kill you at 100,000 max health and vice versa.

Just did this on my 71 Mage on Illidan! I used fuser's guide (which was super helpful) but I had a little trouble finding the right spot to die on the hill of death. I was able to get it on the third try though by rezzing on the bottom, right, rear blade of the horde airship, NOT the canon platform. It was slightly lower and just low enough to allow me to rez on board. I just carefully jumped form there onto the canon platform and giggled as I ran around the ship looking for kelton, staring at all of the 80s on nether drakes :-D

For any unfortunate rogues like myself that don't take falling damage from that small jump due to safe fall and can't find a death knight to kill you for brother keltan, you can get the skull of impending doom https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=4984#reward-from to kill yourself if you don't want to look around for a death knight with hysteria, even though it takes awhile to get.

Horde, Mage, Level 73. Summoned to peak at 62.3 26.6.

Waited for the ship to come around. Used slow fall. Mounted on epic ground mount backed up ever so slightly and took off for the extra speed once over the ship clicked slow fall off fell straight onto the deck.

I am now a happy merrymaker.

I just completed this on my 74 Priest Engineer. I used Wormhole Generator: Northrend and selected Icecrown. This took me to a spot on the mountain near where the airship paths. I waited for the airship to come by and then used Levitate to fall onto the top of the airship. I made my way across the the top of the balloon to the platform in the center and then jumped over the railing onto the deck of the ship.

Another Way to get to Brother Keltan for any level that only needs one friend of any class.

Bring a Dark Rune along with your mistletoe and a friend. Get to the spur on the left side of the pass at 63.56 30.16. Even though it looks steep you can climb it with only a little wiggling to get to the pointy top. The airship will descend as it passes through the pass and a bottom spike/fin will pass close enough to the spur that you can easily get on the spike. I am not sure that you even need to jump. Have both you and your friend get on the spike. Now that you are there duel without moving until you lose then immediately use the dark rune while you are low on points. You will die on the fin and then can use the spirit mount to fly up to the airship and rez w/o hassle on the deck, wherever the ship may have moved to while you were getting back to it.

Every comment in previous patches on how to 'trick' your way into the airship before 77 is now obsolete.

Go to K3 in Storm Peaks and get the Loaned Wind Rider from the dude next to the flight master. If you didn't do this in 3.3 you made it much harder than it had to be.

Get yourself to the tournment grounds & follow path up to the peak you need to die on. Bring an Alliance friend along to kill you. Put yourself into pvp & have friend kill you at top of peak.
I have submitted screenshots to show the correct spots. Hover as high above your body as you can & still have the rez option.

Tilt your view so that you are looking slightly down at your spirt. Wait for the ship to come around. Let your spirit pass completely into airship. By having your view looking slightly down at yourself, you will be able to see when you are Completely inside the ship. This allows you to rez without falling out of the ship. Now Rez. Go upstairs. The brother pats around the ship. He is easy to find. Luck to you.

Location of the NPC's

Brother Malach in Undercity - In the War Quarter, just across the slime. Near som fighting NPC's.

Brother Keltan in Icecrown - On the deck of Orgrimm's Hammer (Horde Airship).

Durkot Wolfbrother in Warsong Hold - On the bottom floor in the southwest of Warsong Hold (Horde Town in Borean Tundra), near som wolves

You might find this amusing...
I have an 85 Worgen hunter.
I did the quests "Scrooge" and "Bros. Before Ho Ho Ho's" with all the normal Ally targets. Then, for some unexplicable reason I got the achievements to do over again.
Only this time the targets are different. My targets are now: Brother Malach in Lordaeron (it says undercity but we all know that is not the real name of the place) Durkot Wolfbrother in Warsong Hold and Brother Keltan in Icecrown.
Did I mention that I am Alliance? These are horde targets... Hmmm.... Sounds kind of fun. Okay, let's try it out!

Oddly enough I was able to use the mistletoe on Brother Keltan on the airship. (surprisingly easy btw I just landed on the ship, walked in and targeted the guy.)
I was able to use it on Durkot once but it didn't seem to "stick" in the achievement.

I hit Baine Bloodhoof square in the chest with two snowballs for the "Scrooge" achievement but it still says it is not complete. (I did it twice just to make sure I really hit him.)

I put in a support ticket and was told to delete the Cache, WTF and Interface files. Did that but it changed nothing.
It looks like Blizz has a bug in their achievement code that checks for factions.

Anyone else have a "Cross-faction" story to tell?
