Well, I found the Lost Lands easily enough, but I can't for the life of me find The Stormwright's Shelf anywhere. Any hints?

Some places people find it difficult to reach / locate.

The Lost Lands: south-west of Avalanche. Just run around there and you'll open the map up.
The Stormwright's Shelf: on top of the western wall. You can't get there from the basin without a flying mount, but you can swim to that place from Howling Fjord (or from Icecrown...)
The Masters' Overlook: on the eastern wall of the basin. Normally you cannot go there without a flying mount, but if you feel the urge... It is possible to climb the snowy shelf of Avalanche all the way to the entrance to the Icecrown, dodging hordes of undeads (some of which are level 80 elites); once you reach the top turn to your right and follow the mountains until you find yourself above the Masters' Overlook. From there jump down and the last piece of the map is open!

I was able to get this achievement at level 70, and so can you.

How did you get up the avalanche? i keep dieing and im a rogue, problem is when you die and release you dont turn into a ghost you just get ressed at the GY. how did you manage to get up?

There is no need to climb the Avalanche christ sake. Do like this:

Go to Lake Wintergrasp.

Check the map which way is closest to Sholazar.

Click the Sholazar map and see where you stand in Wintergrasp and which way to go, to get to The Maker's Terrace.

Climb above it and jump down. TA-DA!

* River's Heart is located in central Sholazar Basin. It is what all of the rivers in the basin empty into.

* The Makers' Perch, located in northwest Sholazar Basin, is home to several titan constructs and Activation Switch Gamma. Inside is The Tribunal of Ages and the Hall of Repose, with an underwater view of the sea.

* The Stormwright's Shelf is located above and to the west of The Maker's Perch in Sholazar Basin. It is full of air and water elementals, as well as wandering stone golems.

* Rainspeaker Canopy is the base of operations for The Oracles and is located in Sholazar Basin.

* The Avalanche is an area in northeastern Sholazar Basin that is overflowing with Scourge forces and is the point of entry for The Lich King's invasion of the zone.

* Kartak's Hold is an outpost of the Frenzyheart Tribe in Sholazar Basin. They are at constant war with the gorlocs of Sparktouched Haven.

* The Savage Thicket is a magically-burning portion of the forest of northwestern Sholazar Basin, filled with proto-dragons. It is bordered on the east by The Bonefields, The Glimmering Pillar to the southeast, to the south by Mistwhisper Refuge, to the southwest by Dorian's Outpost, and by Spearborn Encampment to the west.

* Makers' Overlook is located in eastern Sholazar Basin.

I've tried doing the Lake Wintergrasp trick. It's ok in theory, but it isn't possible to get close enough by just jumping. I'm a paladin, and I put Crusader Aura on and everything, but I can't get close enough to the overlook to discover it, and you CAN'T get above the overlook. I figure the only way to do it through Wintergrasp is to have some kind of slow fall effect. The best way for anyone who ISN'T a mage is to either be an engineer with the parachute cloak, or have an engineer put a Flexweave Underlay on your cloak to give you a ten second slow fall and float over.

This is how I got *Makers' Overlook*

I first started out(there is no maps of Northrend, so this is what I have to work with) Here

I then swam north from Borean Tundra THROUGH the zone Sholazar Basin, and ended up on the island off of the zone in Icecrown Here

I got onto the island and had the mobs kill me. Then it had me on a flying mount while being in ghost form on the zone Icecrown, so I ended up self rez'ing myself there.

I made my way south through the mountains around here
There was really no hard jumps to make, just need to time them to get it right.

You will finally get to the point you can see *Makers' Overlook*, just keep walking until your right on top of it. Fall up on the roof of *Makers' Overlook* and get the Explore Sholazar Basin!

This is how I did it! I am very sorry the maps are very vegue on where to go. I hope I have atleast helped someone here about this.

P.S. While swimming through the zone Sholazar Basin, Make sure you get as close to the mountains as you can, so you can get the The Stormwright's Shelf.

Mosslight Pillar is hard, can't seem to find the right spot

edit: I found out that "Waygate" at 40,83 calculates as Mossflight Pillar

Thanks a BUNCH Bravesfan, that worked like a charm. Now I FINALLY have that explorer title I've been after for a while. I was worried about which paths to take, but it was a pretty straightforward run past the avalanche to the point where I could just jump onto the roof. Kudos

ok um i had too figure this out at 71 and heres wat u gotta do too get too makers overlook

STEP 1: get a level 78 lock and 2 other people with there flyers too help you

STEP 2: get them too fly up too the makers overlook

STEP 3: get the lock too lock summon u up too the place but guys make sure u find people u know or it takes liek 2 hours like it did for me

When finding The Stormwright's Shelf, there no need to swim outside basin. You can go up from the waterfall, look the map below

i got The Stormwright's Shelf at the Co- Ords 25.3, 29.6. i did get it by swimming outside of the basin. and a little bit before the co ords but ya can get it at the co ords ive just put up too :)

the way i went thru Bravesfan's route, u will need to take ur armor off, or have an extremely high bill, ive died at least 15 times and am still in the process of getting thru icecrown... good luck! :)

See the map of Sholazar? That big collection of rivers in the middle can help you discover Rainspeaker Rapids. The river on the map that's leading northeast has a little "island" at the end of it. Your map will say The Lost Lands next to this island. Just run over/fly over that island and you will get the exploration for Rainspeaker Rapids AND Rainspeaker Canopy (it counts them both)

if u discovered the lifeblood pilar and the lost lands THATS GREAT if u need the makers overlook look at lifeblood pilar (on the map) then look east of that and u will see the word the and part of the word overlook just go towards there and u got it! gratz! hope this helps someone.

The "Maker's Overlook" is at 80,54 in Sholazar Basin. Nobody seems to have mentioned that this area is very easy to spot, it looks like a large stone building built into the side of the mountain.

Once you land there, there is a quest on the ledge: A Timeworn Coffer which gives you a green item when complete.

It's is completely doable to fully Explore Sholazar Basin without Cold Weather Flying, AND without being a high Level (75 - 77). I fully explored it at Level 73 .

Makers' Overlook - It IS possible to run up The Avalanche into IceCrown and then head East along the ridge to Makers' Overlook. I did it, you can too.

The Stormwright's Shelf - Swim North from Borean Tundra along the wall of Sholazar Basin past the first cove and then you'll see the "The Stormwright's Shelf" flash on the screen.

First of all! this was not written by me. i took this off another site cause it helped me out greatly...

OK I figured out how to get to the Maker's Overlook, but to do it, you need to come from Icecrown, so you may want to start exploring it first.

First, you will need to get to the Western side of Icecrown. There is a flight-point there (Death's Rise) but it is tricky to get to as you have to drop down to it from the side of the cliff. But you just need to be anywhere in the western mountains of Icecrown. Intentionally die. If you are far enough west when you do so, you will be placed at the spirit healer in Jotunheim. You will need to have the spirit healer rez you, so you may want to leave all your gear in the bank before doing this if you want to save on repairs.

This next part will probably involve you dieing a few times to make it through all the mobs, especially since you will have rez sickness. But it is not to bad, especially since your ghost rides a gryphon.

So from the spirit healer at Jotunheim, you need to make your way south to southeast until you hit an area called "The Fleshworks". Be careful not to accidentally end up too far west.

Once you hit The Fleshworks, it will reveal on your map. On the map, you will see a long curving road that splits and then rejoins. You will need to take the road that splits off to go further south on your map. On the map, next to that road, you will see a small, round platform or ledge. You want to make your way down to that ledge, then jump off the left side of it. That will put you on a large glacier leading southward.

Follow that glacier all the way down. There is a drop-off on the right side of the glacier, so you may want to be careful, but it's not too dangerous. When the glacier begins to level out, you will see the area to walk become narrower, and on the right, the drop-off will have two protruding "bumps" for lack of a better word. The second bump is right above the roof for the Maker's Overlook in Sholazar Basin. If you go to the left side of the bump, you can actually walk right off the glacier onto the roof. That is when you will get the exploration credit.

WARNING: Before you walk over to the jump point, you may want to scope it out in ghost form, since your ghost can fly. But please be careful as you approach the edge of the drop-off. If you accidentally cross over into Sholazar Basin territory, your ghost will lose his mount, and your ghost will fall down to the floor of Sholazar basin. However, if you stay on the ground (mounted but not flying) and you get to close and lose your mount, as long as you can just take a few steps back into Icecrown, you will get your ghost mount back.

Just a tip, if you haven't got a flying mount, and haven't done the quest Reconnaissance Flight, use the plane you get to control and explore the Maker's Overlook and the other place above ground level.

At level 6 I discovered Maker's Perch at 29.2 / 38.9 no need for summon and not one bit of extreme mountain climbing.

Founded it pretty easy to swim to The Stormwright's Shelf. Im a druid, and i have the Aqua form + the gylph that does i swin 100% . Pretty great atucally. And then im only level 73.

As a rogue I was actually able to sneak throught the avalanche up to the Makers Overlook, it was quite easy to be honest. I pulled aggro once in the begin, but I managed to get away by using vanish. The second time I got aggro was when I was almost at the end, so I just popped evasion and sprint and managed to survive with still over half HP left.

Ok I've got everything in NT except the suntouched pillar, I can't seem to find a way to explore it without a flying mount (i'm lvl 73) If anyone can tell me how I'd be super grateful. Thx in advance.

BTW, I can see everything in the map, since I explored the goblin digsite, but in the achievemnts window it doesn't show suntouched pillar as explored.

Distract also helps a lot for rogues too, since undead perceive stealth a little higher than normal mobs. If you point them away you can slip right by a la Obi-wan Kenobi...

I Found It Below The Avalanche up to the hill, you can alrdy see some of the text like "the..... m..." on your map if you have explorered next to it.
