From my experience, not all the Flamewalkers in the Molten Flow will use the respective abilities. I have only seen one Shaman use Flameweave, and two Hunters use Wild Barrage. I have never been in a party doing these quests so I haven't checked about the Sentinels.

For Flameweave, the Shaman will simply place a patch of fire on the ground. Back up and move the Shaman into it to get credit.

For Wild Barrage, the Hunter will channel the ability for a bit, causing small black shadows to appear on the ground. You have a very short time to move out of the way before a spear lands there. The lightning of the cave can make it difficult to see some spots, so make sure you have your Brightness maxed.

Zzeke is right about not every flamewalker having the ability, maybe you will have to go through multiple mobs before you get to one with a special ability. If a flamewalker doesnt use the ''special'' 5-10 seconds into the fight, the flamewalker does not have a special ability

Shaman
The Flameweave from the shaman is the most easy one, you simply let the shaman cast the spell on you which is a patch of fire on the ground. Simply get the shaman to stand in it, then kill it.

Hunter
The wild barrage one from the hunter is more difficult.
The hunter anticipates where u will run, so if u for example strafe to the left the whole time, he will throw a spear exactly on the spot where you are running to. To counter this you need to keep turning and be unpredictable. Immunities like Iceblock don't work, you need to avoid every single spear. A small round shadow on the ground will indicate where the spear is gonna land, he throws alot of them during the cast. Also don't kill him while he's casting the special ability or it wont work.

Sentinel
The sentinel one is easy. The sentinel will pick up the person with the highest threat (as far as i've seen) and will walk slowly to the lava. During the time he's carying a person, the other partymember needs to kill it. The person being grabbed will not get the achievement.

Currently without completing , there's a way to these mobs. You can hug the left side of the path covered in fire and sneak where the covered up hole is. Then die by the hole in the fire, run back, and you'll fall through; make sure you accept the resurrection quickly because you're falling, though.

As a DK:

Sentinel: Let your pet grab aggro, heal it if necessary with death coil and wait until it picks you or the pet up. Should be easily killable then.

Shaman: Easy, just wait for him to cast Flamewave, get him low health, AMS and pull him into the flames (don't use diseases and put your pet on passive).

Hunter: Wait for him to cast Wild Barrage and pop a speed increase and start strafing in all different directions. I used my nitro boost and ran around.

As mentioned above, if they dont do their abilities within a few seconds of pulling them, just kill them.

I used my Commander's Badge on the Sentinel and he picked up the Netherwing Ally. Got credit. So I guess trinkets that summon things to help will work.

To get past the flames, hug the left side and you will be fine. Once on top of The Furnace, ask you friendly warlock/priest to fear you and you will fall straight through. Make you don't jump in that area where you land, as it will throw you back out.

I just finished this achievement on Live.
Shamans - get them on low hp without any dots on them and wait for them to spawn a puddle of fire which will dmg you and them.
Hunters - CC / nuke / slow the dog and wait for the hunter to channel his barrage. Stay at a max range to maximize the fly distance for the spears. Keep running even before you aggro and move in random directions.
Sentinel - In the first 10 sec you will know if he will grab someone or not. I just did this by capping one of the sentinels and then a random mage (not in my group) overaggroed, got picked up and I killed (killing blow) the sentinel. I got the credit.

EDIT: Some of the mobs are yellow skinned, others are dark skinned, that however does not make a difference whether they have their special abilities or not.

From a druid's point of view.

Shaman - easiest. Just drag and drop onto fire as described above.

Sentinel - solo. Difficult. Barov Peasant Caller was kind of useless. I tried my Argent War Horn and it worked a treat, though I dont know if that was just luck.

Hunter - firstly I'd like to clarify that "Throw" is different to "Wild Barrage". Second, even though I was off dots I still got caned, so if you have bad latency this = difficult. Speed boost highly recommended. I still haven't got this, I'm just attempting to beat the crap out of every hunter and strike lucky.

They all do their special abilities in the first 5 seconds. If they don't - kill them.

Don't forget to loot them so they'll respawn faster.

I have just soloed this on my mage, and just wanted to add that mirror images can be picked up for the Sentinel part of the achievement, took four tries, but worked in the end.

If you want to complete the sentinel part quickly, you must first understand he grabs an ally to bring them into lava, he will hold them indefinitely while standing in the lava. The best place to get the sentinel to do this is at the bottom of the area in the round part. The lava is easily accessed down there and they almost always do that ability. If they can't walk into the lava they won't grab anyone.

If you're having trouble getting the Hunters to use Wild Barrage, bring a priest with you, duel them and have them force the Hunter to use it (And then don't fail it, of course). Some of them just do not know the ability though, so keep trying till you find it.

Moonkins can use their treants for the sentinel portion. It took me several tries before one of them got picked up, but worked in the end. Just pop treants and let them do all the damage until one gets picked up, then nuke the sentinel.

For easiest results, be standing right at the closest edge before the lava and have a set of 3 mushrooms sitting right under the sentinel. As soon as it picks up a treant, detonate, dot it up, knock it back with typhoon and nuke.

Here are some important tidbits:

Each mob has a random chance of having the special ability.
In our experience, the shamans seemed to have the special ability the most often, sentinels the second most often, and somewhere around a one in twenty chance of a hunter having it.
The mobs tend to cast the special ability rather quickly after entering content. Within 10 seconds or so, they cast it.
The special ability is hard-baked into each individual spawn. This means that it is possible to reset a mob you have found to have it, even after screwing up the achievement first time. After the mob resets, you can attempt to complete the particular feat again. This is especially useful against the hunters, as mobs with the ability are very rare and the feat is somewhat difficult to complete.

Summation: if you &*!@ up on the hunter ability, you can reset him and do it again.

Here's a simple pally strat since we have limited speed boosters:

Aggro
Wait for Wild Barrage
Judgement (go go weak speed boost!)
Bubble (Charhound can't daze you)
Alternate between strafing/running to create the unpredictable pattern a previous poster mentioned.

As a shaman, the Sentinels can grab your Searing Totem, but it took me over an hour for me to finally succeed.

Some say they hold it indefinitely, and that isn't the case, at least for Searing Totems, so try to reach an appropriate level of health where you can zerg it down before the Totem likely dies. The alternative is to try using your Feral Spirits every 3 minutes.

Also give it about 20 seconds to grab your Totem. I tried putting my Totem directly next to the Sentinel, hopefully encouraging it to grab it, lol.

Just did this on my Retribution paladin. Few notes

1. I found the hunters to be really rare, and have a long respawn timer, so what I did was find 1 and reset him if he didn't have the ability, repeat this until he does.

2. I used the run left then right then left.. method, soon as you see a shadow of the spear ahead of your char, run the other way.

Me (shadow priest) and friend (warrior) decided to get these achievements together.

We tryed multiple things, with speed buffs etc. But this worked the best for us:

As soon as the hunter was starting to shoot his barrage I used Psychic Horror. When the fear was about to expire he used his Intimidating Shout. It lasts for about the duration of the barrage.
In this case you will only have to dodge the arrows that he might fire at you before you interrupt it.

First time I got the criteria for the achievement. Followed by him.
I would like to note, that the person who holds aggro on the hunter gets the criteria.

It will probably work with some other CC-abilities as well. But I can only confirm it for this way.

I've been asked on numerous occassions how do you find the mobs.

To get to The Furnace:

1. Hug the left side of the path of flames heading up to The Furnace.
2. Once there, you won't be able to get in as a solid form. Die to the flames.
3. Run back to your body, click Accept as you fall down through the hole.
4. Normally you won't survive the drop (unless you're a DK with a Path of Frost glyph). Run back to your body again and accept once you're down in The Furnace.
5. Enjoy the depths. To get back out, there is a vent of steam you can stand in to shoot you back up.

The hunter one is incredibly easy - he throws spears in the direction you're walking towards, so just spin around in a tiny circle. You're guaranteed not to get hit by a single spear.

Decided to give this achievement a try today. Didn't seem to hard when reading about it but at the moment it seems to be bugged, at least for me and a friend of mine. After one hour of killing Shamans with their own Flamewave (tried with both avoiding and getting hit by the flamewaves ourselves), Sentinels while the other person is being carried and Hunters without taking damage from their Wild Barrage, neither one of us have managed to get credit for any one of them. We tried the Shamans and Hunters while not being in a party too but it didn't make any difference. The only thing we've managed so far is getting stucked in the lava twice while being carried by Sentinels...
Do you have to have the quests down there to be able to get this achievement or are we missing some vital detail as to how this is done?

Here's a little clarification on when you fall through the hole in corpse form.

As soon as your corpse is over the hole, it will fall immediately. When it does, you only have about 1 second to accept the ressurection before you fall too far away from your body.

Of course, this means you have to resurrect while still a long ways off the ground. If you can't slow your fall, you will die again -- but there's no other way around that. As a pally, I just popped the bubble.

If you are too slow on clicking Yes to ressurect when you start falling, you'll simply land at the bottom in ghost form. Then you click Return to Graveyard, run back, and try it again. No biggie, but I would have preferred to have only had to run back once.

If anyone isn't sure what the hole looks like (which is currently closed), I'm in the process of posting a screenshot of that.

Ok, about the sentinel:

I've done quite a bit of testing (over 30mins) with a friend of mine, a mage (I'm a feral druid). Here is what we discovered:

- Not all sentinels have the ability to pick up someone
- If the sentinel has the ability, he has to be in proximity of 'reachable' lava to do it
- the sentinel WILL NOT grab the person with the highest threat, he will randomly pick anyone in melee range
- summonable pets (from trinkets) that can be targetted can be picked (tested using Argent War Horn), water elemental was also picked

The hunter was my biggest problem, me and a buddy had been killing hunters straight for 20m with no luck on the 3 barrage's they hit us with. Until i was able to figure out how to get one hunter to barrage 8 times in a row, feigning (as a hunter) after each barrage.

What i did was put on aspect of the fox, steady shot, and strafe back and forth without stopping, it somehow triggers his barrage and you keep strafing to avoid it. If i got hit, i would feign, and do it again, and i got the hunter to do it 8 times in a row.

Shaman/Flamewave: Group Credit is shared for the Shaman.
Sentinel/Pick-up: Group Credit is shared for everyone that is NOT picked up by the Sentinel. So do this twice if in a group and have others be in melee/have aggro.
Hunter/Wild Barrage: There is no Group Credit for Avoiding the Barrage it seems. Only the person (one person reguardless of group) who had aggro gets credit for the achievement on that one. So I would recommend a solo on the Hunter part.

Other notes: Be at max range for hunters preferred - You can use the Air Vent things to help avoid barrage but it's not really needed if you have the proper distance.

I've noticed the mobs that use the abilities are the gray ones, similar in appearance to Executus rather than the orange colored ones.

Best way I've found to get the Wild Barrage one is, to LoS the Flamewalker Hunter in the Charhounds' cave when he uses Wild Barrage (Don't forget to first clear the cave out). Simply wait for him to start channeling it and run out and LoS him with the cave wall. The arrows seem to abide by LoS rules.

Keep in mind that you yourself do now count as a party member, so if you happen to kill them while grabbed (warriors can whirlwind while held) it will NOT count towards the achievement.

I had luck dodging the hunter's wild barrage as a melee by running a circle around him at about 10 yards out - close enough I could still hit and attack him, but I was barely able to outrun the barrage. Think like Glubtok's (Deadmines) fire wall, except moving at a regular pace clockwise or counter clockwise. Hopefully this will help the melee classes attempting to finish this achievement off.

And, I saw this a lot of my server. If you want the sentinel to hoist someone, you have to fight it REALLY near to the lava pool. It will not do its ability otherwise, for the most part. The DK's Army of the Dead and Raise Dead pets DO count for the lava bath, so it seems like any class with a summonable "attack" pet can solo the sentinel part of this achievement while some might need aid.

I've been having some trouble with the sentinel part. I summon my goul and let my ghoul attack the sentinel, but when the sentinel grabs my ghoul and i start to attack it, when i have aggro he drops my ghoul and attacks me before he jumps in the lava and i don't get credit when i kill the sentinel, is anyone else having this problem?

EDIT: I got the achievement, i let the sentinel walk towards the lava while he was holding my ghoul and thankfully he didn't drop my ghoul when i got aggro, he just swam in the lava like he was supposed to

Sentinels: Shaman Earth elementals work too. Took a few Sentinels to get them to carry it, but finally got it.

Hunters, easy if you have a cc like Hex, sure sheep would work too. Kill the dog. Then stand as far away as you can then break the cc, if the Hunter starts casting Barrage, run away, also look at the ground there will be shadows were you don't want to stand in.

A tip for the hunters that seemed to work a lot better than killing until you find one that will barrage you (at least for rogues).

First Sap the hunter and kill the dog.
Get a good distance between you and the hunter, and then use your throwing weapon.
Right after that cast Smoke Bomb and wait, he will start to cast throw, but will stop (of course).
I found after that, a lot of times they would then cast Wild Barrage, at least much more often then just killing them at random.

Also, I've found that if you go to that first pillar past Thisalee Crow and run around that (with sprint if you're a rogue), then it makes things much easier.

Without smoke bomb, I can only think an interrupt might work as well. Hope this helps someone.

As a ret pally, I was getting really frustrated that I couldn't avoid the Wild Barrage. But I figured out that for pallys, all you have to do is use Repentence and don't attack the hunter for the casting time of the barrage. That easy :) Hope I helped somebody

Fair warning: if you get too close to Thisalee Crow, she will "help" you--killing the mob and potentially ruining any achievements in progress. If you finally get a Hunter that casts Wild Barrage, for example, stay away from her!

This achievement is most likely the most annoying and time consuming (beyond the meta involved in getting all the marks and recruiting everyone) of the Fireland's daily achievements. It took nearly an hour and a half to get all three parts done, and I was the only person in the cave. Given that it took at most two minutes to clear out everything as a hunter, I cannot imagine what it will be like once people have opened up the daily associated with this area. With the extremely low spawn of hunters compared to Sentinels and Shamans, I imagine this achievement will become remarkably difficult in two days where people have enough marks to get in the the area legitimately. I, for one, am glad I bit the bullet and did it ahead of time.

Just got this. As others have mentioned they don't always cast their spells. My experience has been 3/10 mobs casting their respective spells. So patience is required.

Thought I'd chime in my experience:-

1.) Shaman. This mob when it casts Flamewave. It must die by damage done with that spell. I *might be wrong* here but I came across 3 shamans who I killed with my kill shot when they were under the debuff but I did not receive credit till I let it die from its own spell.

2.) Sentinel. For Classes with pets, Just let your minion at it and watch the threat. Nuke as soon as the Sentinel picks up your pet.

3.) Hunter. Most obnoxious and hard. Keep in mind that you must let the hunter finish casting Wild barrage when it does cast it. Killing the Hunter mob before the cast finishes will not award credit even if you managed to dodge all of the arrows.

One more thing you can do to enter the hole......i did with a friend as i am a mage ofcourse.

Duel with your friend and CC him.....just make him sheep....he will fall into it.

Same did with other 2 friends one of them was a Lock...so easy case...with summons!

From what I can tell, it is true that not all of the creatures use all of their abilities.

However, it should be noted that anyone with any kind of pet can solo the Sentinel portion. I actually got someone to help me out, thinking I needed 2 people, but when someone finally got picked up it ended up choosing my water elemental. I'm not exactly sure how it determines who to pick up... but it works.

Regarding the barrage from the Flamewalker hunter's i found the easiest way was to jump up on a rock using a thermal vent. pull the hunter, dont kill the dog, but watch out so they dont evade and hope they cast it. just keep moving around the cave until you find one that will. the first one that did gave me the achievement, i ran out of Los on the rock and nothing could hit me. I had my mirror images out at the time so Nextgener may be on to something with it being an AoE ability.

I found on the Hunter's Wild Barrage, that just holding the Up-Arrow and either Left or Right arrow on your Keyboard causes you to dodge all the Spears, 100% of the time, so long as you're moving like this before the cast starts.

You'll look like an idiot to other people, for Keyboard turning, but at least you'll get the Meta with little effort.

Got the hunter component in an unusual way just a bit ago.
Aggroed him, let him start casting Wild Barrage, then jumped in an air vent but hit it at an awkward angle. I went around the side of a stone pillar and broke LOS with the hunter. He stopped channeling and I got credit.

Wow, what an annoying achievement, but at least it had some technique and uniqueness to it. I found a lot of misleading information here, so just giving my take.

Most Important - Not everyone Flamewaker has the abilities needed to get the achievement (Flamewave, Barrage, Grab). Some mobs do not have ability at all and you will have to end up killing them. I waited up to 5 minutes on some mobs with out them casting their special ability at all. Disengaging and reengaging mobs does not reset them and give you a chance at a mob with the ability, so just kill them to respawn a new one.

1) Shaman - He will cast Flamewave with in 5 seconds if he has it. Probably best to kill him on his 2nd Flamewave that he will cast with in 10 seconds. Just back up a little and let the Shaman walk into it. Make sure not to DOT him or you will kill him and make sure to get him low or the Flamewave won't kill him. I though I killed several in the Flamewave but didn't get credit for them. Either a DOT was killing them or the fireball at the end of the Flamewave was, which I assume doesn't give you credit. So get him low, don't DOT him and back up a little.

2) Sentinel - He will usually cast is Grab ability with in 5-10 seconds didn't see cast after that, so assumed they didn't have ability. I noticed the probability that they will grab will go up if you are in a group. Tried to solo with companions trinkets like Rhea's Last Egg and Defender of the Timbermaw, but usually the Sentinel wouldn't grab them, they would die quickly or despawn or he would still grab me instead of them. I would suggest asking in chat for someone to group with to get achievement. I finally did this and we both got it with first 2 Sentinels we tried. He does seem to grab party member with highest aggro, but can't confirm. So get in a party, take turns getting aggro and kill him.

3) Hunter - He will usually cast Barrage a little later than other mobs after he is done doing his Throw ability. I would get close to him so he stopped doing Throw and then we would begin to do Barrage usually with in 20 seconds. Just avoid the black spots on ground. Don't run in a predictability pattern like left to right. This one wasn't too hard once I got the mob to do ability. So people have suggested using the vents to jump above, but this one wasn't too hard to just be aware and don't get hit. So get close to stop Throw, avoid black spots by running in unpredictably back and forth.

I hope this helps, this still took me a while and getting them to cast ability is the hardest part. Good luck.

Having just totally soloed this one I've found some tips for shammies....

Don't use totems when killing the hunters because if your totems get hit by Wild Barrage, that stops you getting that part of the achievement.

Use totems on the Sentinel as I got that part of the achievement when I killed the Sentinel while he carried my totem!

Hm....my experience with this crapful achievement is different from those stated here. Killed shaman on 2nd try, seems not to give credit if you stand in the Firewave. About 4th hunter got the Barrage, but he DIDNT do anything! I thought I'd get swarmed, ran around a bit, then just finished it off and got a credit. Maybe a rare lucky bug. As for the Sentinel - this part is preventing me from ach. As a feral druid, I tried to DoT-kill him, and to test if I wont get the credit when riding him, as people suggested. With my luck - dozens of sentinels, one caught me, but dropped a second after. I hope their abilities or spawn timers will be fixed, as there are ~5 sentinels all waiting dead in that place...

Used a few things to finally get this achievement. The hunter was by far the most annoying criteria.

Hunter:

All hunters (skin color wise) can cast Wild Barrage
Thermal Vents to insure I don't get hit by the spears
Intimidating Shout as soon as the spears begin to throw
Killed Charhound at the beginning, being dazed won't help you

Sentinel:

Black and yellow (skin) Sentinels do grab people

Skin color doesn't appear to have any affect whether Flamewakers will or will not use their ability. It appears that there is a certain percent chance that when the mob spawns, it has their ability.

Things to note:

Hunter achieve: If you have a speed ability (ie: rogue sprint), use it the moment the hunter uses special attack and zigzag away. I found this to be SUPER effective.
Sentinels are a pain. Period. As a rogue, I don't see how I can solo this one without the help of another player. I've tried the Netherwing, Timbermaw, and Barov Servant collar trinkets and I find my companions die very quickly. I spent a half hour with a player trying for the achieve and no such luck either. We were picked up twice, but put down way before the mob could be killed.

Any pointers for the Sentinels?
...importing Wolverine into the game, maybe?

Hunter part as a Mage: Just blink in the opposite direction and keep running. It completes before it's even killed.

Got hunter's achievement very easy: just runned away and outranged his ability. The range of Wild Barrage is 40 yards. Speed increase will help but it's not nesessary. Breaking LoS will help too, as hunter stop his barrage when you do it.
I hope it will help people with bad latency :)

You do not need a pet or a party member for the Flamewalker Sentinel part of this achievement. If the mob has the ability it will use it on you even if you are on your own. You can still fight while being carried.

If you are a mage and you are not in a group, do not cast Flame Orb/Frostfire Orb on a Sentinel without casting Mirror Image/Water Elemental. I already have the achievement so I simply assumed the Sentinel didn't have the ability and thought I'd just hurry the fight along by casting a Flame Orb. Suddenly I found myself suspended in his arms and seconds later going for a lava bath.

This sounds as it might work for all classes who can be far away when he starts his barrage. Very good idea, but not how I have done. But from my experience, to clarify what the other poster said, No,

you just stand still

is not what he meant - he said "tiny circle". You still need to leave the spot you have been on or you will be hit, but the direction you face changes as rapidly as he throws his barrage of spears. But I used the "line-of-sight" trick another poster mentioned and that is a far safer way of achieving this and far more "natural" to me, too. See my post in reply to that.

Just did the last one I was missing, the hunter part. The other two I didnt even knew I had untill I looked at the achievement :P

1. If the mob doesn't start after a few seconds to cast wild barrage when going close to stop throw, just kill it and wait for another to spawn.

2. When you finally find one that start casting barrage best way to avoid the black spots on the ground is running LOS or using one of the vents to get in the air.

Got mine after killing about 15 mobs.

Just got this Achievement in the following manner:

Aggro'ed Hunter, did not kill pet

As soon as Hunter began channeling, I started running and popped a Swiftness potion

I ran away, away, away, and as soon as the the channel bar ran out -Boom! Achievement.

The Shaman was pretty easy, as described above, just back up through his flame when he's low enough and you'll get him.

I can confirm the Sentinel will pick up water elementals too, as that's how I got that portion.

I think that the way to get the hunter's to use Wild Barrage, is to kill their dogs. I spent 30 min killing 20 hunters that i found, and only 2 had the move. I tried killing the dog's first, and now its 2/2 for the wild barrage.

A tip for those trying to solo the Sentinel part of this - if "Need... Water... Badly..." is available, the NPC for that quest counts as a "pet" that can be grabbed by the Sentinel. It's slightly tricky since he travels a specific path, so you can only go after Sentinels on that path, but if you attack anything he'll stop moving so you can drag Sentinels to him. If you make it all the way to the end without him being grabbed, abandon the quest and try again once some more Sentinels have respawned.

It's not as easy as just being a pet class, but hey, it works :) And he doesn't despawn after a couple seconds or have a lengthy summon cooldown like most trinket pets.

It IS POSSIBLE to attack the sentinel when you're grabbed. You may need to turn around a couple of times to put him in front of you, but he can be hit by melee attacks.

For the hunter part, if you're in a group, it seems like you may need be the one being directly attacked in order to get the achieve.
Did this with a druid tank buddy. Took us three times to get it right. First two, he had aggro and was the focus of the barrage. Went off without a hitch both times, and both times I didn't get credit for it. Third time, I aggroed the hunter while my buddy stayed back and kept the other mobs busy. Got the credit no problem that time.

To do the hunter criteria - I suggest remembering two similar ideas: Slabhide in Stonecore and Torch Juggling daily during Midsummer. When engaging a hunter, prepare to run away, or run away if you are ranged. Once you see him channeling, you have to either be 10+ yards away or further. If you are 10 yards or closer - he will get you for sure. If you are 10+ yards, you have at least one second to see a black spot under the spear. If you are 15-20 yards away, you have at 2 seconds, and it's pretty easy. I was quite annoyed by this ach, but finally made it and hope THIS tip will help.

Fun fact: at least at present, you don't have to be in a party to get the sentinel part of the achievement. I was fighting a sentinel on my blood elf hunter, and a human mage went running by (might or might not have attacked the sentinel, didn't see). Regardless, the sentinel grabbed the mage and I got the achievement credit when I killed the sentinel.

Spent about 30 minutes trying to find a hunter with barrage, then came here to see if I was doing something wrong, when I tabbed back I saw a hunter casting barrage on me. Having a sentinel stun me halfway through it wasn't nice but I still got it, just look out for black dots, theres more than enough time to dodge them.

There is an easier way to make the hunter part of achi - just stun him when he starts barrage.
Freezing, fearing and other types of cc works as well.
I used Shadowfury as soon, as I saw the barrage casting bar, it was interrupted, but I still got the achievement.
Also Sentinel can take away warlock's pet. :)

Easiest way to not be hit by hunter while he casts wild barrage is to wait for the cast to start, then stun him. You will get credit after a few seconds. Confirmed with 2 characters.

After working on the Sentinel portion of this achieve with some friends for almost an hour, we made a few observations of our own:

1. There are different colored sentinels: grey, orange, and maybe even a yellow.
2. I can say with 100% certainty that both orange sentinels and grey sentinels can pick up players and carry them into the lava.
2. Some sentinels dual wield, while some carry a single weapon. Those carrying a single weapon seemed more likely to pick up a player (apparently they need the free hand)
3. Threat did not seem to be a factor. The sentinels pick up any random player who is within melee range.
4. The sentinel needs to be standing somewhere near the edge of the lava. When he picks up a character, he carries him into the lava and holds him under for a short time. Kill him before he releases your party member to get credit for that portion of the achieve.
5. The person picked up by the sentinel will not get credit.

Hello everyone, so after doing this Achievement in about ~30 minutes, I got some nice tips that some (specially hunters and other classes such as warlocks with pets) will find useful.

As Master of the Molten Flow says, you need to do the following things:

Flamewalker Shaman

Simple, you just want to get his health points kinda low, to like 20k then just kite him to the flame patch and wait for it to explode, pets on passive might be a good idea, this was the easiest one for me, after the patch explodes he'll die, watch your health because you might get damaged as well.

Flamewalker Sentinel

This one is another easy one, if you have a pet then just send it to attack the mob, go all out since this guy has ~120k health points and he'll eventually carry your pet, if you do not own a pet, you can use a trinket that summons a companion, or just find a group using /1 General or something, if you're in a group, the person who got carrier will not earn the meta.

Flamewalker Hunter

Clearly the hardest one, it took me around 10 minutes to figure it out, and when I did figure it out, hell it was easy as hell, 1 shotted it, how? well... LoS is your friend here.

You just want to aggro one of these guys near a wall or somewhere where you can LoS him easily when he starts casting wild barrage, LoS as fast as you can, if you own a pet just send your pet in, you might want to damage him a bit then wait for the cast then LoS as soon as possible.

You don't need to kill the Flamewalker Hunter to earn the meta.

Priests: You can get the sentinels to pick up other MCed flamewalkers. A bit of warning though, sometimes the carried flamewalker will bug out underground and continue attacking you!

Dunno if this has been said yet, but if you're trying for the flamewalker hunter part, the wild barrage has to be casted at you. This means if there is somebody standing near you and they get targeted instead, you won't get credit.

The hunter's barrage gave me a lot of trouble on this one. What eventually worked for me was engaging the hunter in the second area while standing on the path leading up to the big boulder you see when you first start the quests. As soon as he started throwing things at me I moved close to the big boulder in that first area. When he started casting barrage I ran around the boulder, using it as a shield.

im having alot of trouble with the hunter one. main reason is because i cant see the small black shadows everyone keeps telling me about

Just did this achievment with my ele shammy friend, im a priest so we just ran around Mind Soothing and Hexing mobs we didnt need and i MCd them to see if they had the ability, took us probably a good hour or so as we had bad luck with getting mobs with the ability and other people were questing so killing the ones we needed.

Bit tedeous but not that hard.

Okay, I must be missing something, the shaman and sentinel were easy. The hunter, I have spent about 5 hours on
and cannot seem to get.

I tried running away in a straight line, he hits me, I tried running around in close circles, he hits me, I tried running around in large circles, he hits me, I tried running around like a maniac, he hits me. I tried los, he shoots right through it. I ran off and engineered myself up some nitro boosts, tried that, he hit me.

Finally, I got smart and started interrupting, I interrupted once with concussive shot... it stopped the wild barrage, but then soon he cast it again. I got even smarter, I interrupted it once with concussive shot, next time with wyvern sting... he shot it again really soon.

I am a hunter... do I have more interrupts that I am not thinking about? Seems like I need about 5 more.

Is there some trick to getting the Sentinels to pick up one of the party members? I just spent the better part of a half hour with a very helpful druid. Said druid willingly became a damage sponge as I stood idly by flinging fireballs from my wand. The druid had threat well in excess of 100% and nary once did said Sentinels attempt pick up this lovely specimen of Night Elf femininehood and try to roast her alive.

Just completed the Sentinel portion as a Mage and I wanted to write this now while the facts were fresh in my head.

First - I found that skin color of the Sentinel meant nothing. There are two varieties of Sentinels, bright orange with black "trim" or black with a golden "trim". An earlier comment said that only the latter will have the ability however I discovered (numerous times) that either of these will pick up the party member. What does matter is if the mob has that ability in the first place. As far as I know there is no way to determine this other than pulling and seeing if you get pulled aside for a lava bath.

I first tried this as an Arcane Mage but it was really tricking as Mirror Image was the only additional help I could call on so I switched to Frost spec. Say hello to my little friend, Water Elemental.

A few points for using the water elemental:

Keep your threat below your pets. This is a no brainer. I just sicked the Elem on the Sentinel and sent in a few Frost Bolts or Ice Lances to help drop the hp a bit.
Frost Nova seemed to cause the Sentinel to drop the Elemental resulting in no recognition upon killing Sentinel.
Deep Freeze did not seem to cause the Sentinel to drop the Elemental and gave me the time I needed to dps the Sentinel down.

As with all of the Flamewalker talents, if they don't do them in the first 5 seconds of the fight it's most likely they do not have that ability to begin with so you should just kill the mob and move to the next one.

There is a very easy way for a priest to get the hunter step that I discovered by accident. 1. Mind Control a hunter. 2. Have him attack another hunter >10+ yards away, using his Throw ability. 3. If the attacked hunter has Wild Barrage, he will cast it on your MC'd pet. None of it will hit you and you get the credit for the step. Voila!

One of the most annoying Achievement, not because it's difficult, but because there's alot of things that can go wrong that is beyond your control.

My advice is.. do this during offpeak hours, when there is hardly anyone on.

The hunter's barrage is almost impossible to dodge if you do it during peak hour, because as I found out, not only does it target you, but also players near you.

Not to mention, there were many times I found a hunter with the ability, only to have other players decide to "help" me and kill it, while it's casting it.

Also another advice, if you're a Night Elf, or a Rogue, and you fail to dodge the Barrage, just Shadowmeld or Vanish, and tag it again.

So yeh, do yourself a favor and do this during offpeak hours when there isn't anyone around, and it's easy.

Mobs dont use their abilities so frequently.They do it in 10sec when u pull mob.So pulling mob and waiting for his special cast for ach is impossible.Easier part of this ach is shaman.Just leave him at fire near his death.And hunter part of ach is a little tough but you can do it with getting max range of hunter's.And the last one is sentinel's part.You cant do it on your own.Need a teammate for it

Took ~2 hours of farming at least 100 of these stupid hunters. Long story short... NOT ALL FLAMEWALKERS HUNTERS SPAWN WITH THE BARRAGE ABILITY.

What does this mean for you? If you attack a hunter and they do not use the barrage ability with-in the first 10 seconds, kill it, and look for another. When they do finally cast it, run around like a chicken with it's head cut off in random directions.

I had the best luck finding hunters that spawn with the ability in the first 2 areas below the quest giver. (1st area is around has a big rock in the center of it that you can run around; 2nd area is below that). There are 3 spawn points for the hunters in these areas, so you shouldn't wait to long for them to respawn.

I positioned myself at the base of an air flow vent (facing the ledge). When the hunter began his barrage, I jumped, and just went along the vents, three ledges later I had the achievement.

Water elementals count as "party members" if the Sentinels grab them; I imagine fire elementals and warlock/hunter pets will work as well. Makes this achievement less tedious for those who prefer to do their dailies solo.

I found the Hunter achievement easy to do once you figure it out. I turned off 'bite' on my pet (dps from him kills him too fast), turned off all stuns (the initial charge may interupt wild barrage) and just let him taunt and tank him. I did not auto attack at all and just stayed at about maximum ranged. As soon as he began channeling wild barrage I moved out of ranged and watched the arrows coming. As far as I can tell they either can't hit me past 40 yards or just moving back and forth made it impossible. I got it the first time with this technique (after trying to dodge it within range for 25 minutes).

I just got this achievment on my hunter. If the Wild Barrage hits your pet you won't get the achievment. What I did was clear one of the round areas of the shaman's and dismissed my pet and waited for a hunter to spwan that had the ability. After I got the achievment called pet and killed the hunter. I spent an hour doing this though because not alll the hunters have/or use the ability.

2. put hunter on /focus
3. hit the dog
4. keep running
5. as soon as hunter starts wild barrage hit the key bound to macro
6. finish the hunter

Priests are able to solo the Sentinel component of this by using Mind Control. Simply Mind Control any of the mobs and use it to fight the Sentinel, when it gets picked up cancel the MC and kill the Sentinel.

For the Shamans out there: easiest way to get credit for Wild Barrage is to engage a Hunter till he casts this spell then go Ghost Wolf. Run away from him, easily avoiding the black dots, till the spell is done. Then go back and finish him off. You only need to avoid being hit by the spell during a single cast to get credit.

Confirmed that only certain ones have the ability needed for the achievement, if they do not do it with in the first few hits they will not do it so dont waste your time keeping it alive,
Sentinal- you can not be the one grabbed or you will not get credit, it will only hold the player for seconds so he needs to be almost dead when player is picked up
Hunter-- just run away in a zigzag and run back when its done
shaman- just move it into the fire and kill it

After a great deal of frustration like so many others trying to get the Wild Barrage part down, I just found a way to cheese it that admittedly requires a bit of luck/RNG, and being a mage/some other ranged helps, but it's much easier than all the other crap I tried and failed at.

Most people try to camp hunters in the large rooms, but I found a pat in one of the small cul-de-sacs with the sleeping dogs. I also happened to be fairly close to a wall (this is important). When I attacked, he immediately charged up Wild Barrage, and I very quickly blinked away, to LoS him behind the wall. Sure enough, he stood still chucking spears that were blocked by the wall, and I quickly ran back when he was done and finished him off to score the achievement.

So my advice to people having issues with this: try the side rooms, or if you find one in the larger open chambers, try to kite one near to a place you can LoS. Kiting is admittedly difficult, largely because of the oft-crazy spawn rates down there and the number of people who like to "help" you kill the mobs, but it's a viable method if you're lucky.

Best way for hunter - go to the place at the beginning little to the right, and run behind big rocky pillar. There is one who spawns there or kite one if you are unlucky and he doesn't have barrage ability. Just run left right behind rock and achi is yours.

One very easy way to get credit for the hunter is to fight the one in the cave full of charhounds untill it uses Wild Barrage, then run out of the cave and put the wall of the cave in between you and it. It'll keep throwing spears and they'll appear to go through the wall, but you're safe once you're out of its line of site.

This achievement is quite frustrating to get. I've never once seen a Hunter do Wild Barrage, it's always just Throw that they cast. I don't know why Blizz made it so that only a handful of the mobs in the Molten Flow actually count for the achievement, as only SOME of the Shamans do Flamewake, only SOME of the Sentinals pick you up, and from what I've seen.. apparently none of the Hunters do Wild Barrage.

I just popped by to mention to those of you who are having issues finding the Sentinels and Hunters with the specific abilities for this achieve...be patient.

I spent well over a half an hour helping a guildmate with the achievement on my druid. I helped him with the Hunter by using Stampeding Roar, but it was the Sentinel that was the pain. We spent so very long killing Sentinels for one that would pick me up.

So it's a bit random, because when I had a random Priest help me with it, the first Sentinel we attacked picked her up, while with my guildmate and I it was probably the...100th...ish...

I just spent about 45 minutes on this. The sentinels and shaman were no problem. However the hunters are extremely difficult. Wild barrage has a range of at least 12 and a half miles. They can chuck spears through walls, around corners, and right up your butt without even taking aim. Changing direction does no good, the spears just follow you like heat seeking missiles. There's nowhere to run, nowhere to hide - they will find you. They throw enough spears to hit you and all of your cousins and old college girlfriends at once. I tried doing this ten ways to Sunday. I tried the line of sight trick. I tried the air vent trick. So far, no dice. As far as I can tell, getting the third part of this achievement is a matter of insane persistence and pure luck. Just keep going until somehow you accidentally get it.

Update: Okay, after 3 or 4 hours of trial and error over 3 days, I finally managed to complete the last stage on my hunter. Here's what I learned, at least as far as ranged classes are concerned:

1) Don't bother attacking any of the hunters out in the open. Their range is far greater than yours, and the spears track your position as you move so you can't outrun or dodge them. You MUST use line of sight.

2) The best place to do this is at the cave with the sleeping hounds in it. It has 2 entrances, one a little further down the slope than the other. Stand outside at the right side of the lower entrance, face toward the cave, and wait. The hunter and his little dog will spawn inside the cave directly in front of you and begin moving with his back toward you.

3) If you have a pet (hunter, mage, lock), don't let your pet hit him first. You must tag him yourself, then IMMEDIATELY run to your right and put the wall between you and him. Let your pet commence the attack. The hunter will stay put inside the cave. His dog will come for you but it does very little damage, so just ignore it. Be sure to keep the hunter targeted and watch his cast bar. If he doesn't cast wild barrage in the first few seconds, he's not going to. Just kill that one, resume your position and wait a minute or two for the next one to spawn.

4) Once out of his line of sight, you MUST keep moving constantly or he'll locate you and start firing spears through the wall, hitting you and forcing you to start over. Keep strafing a few steps back and forth, keeping a close eye on his health bar. When your pet has him down to where you're sure you can kill him with one blow, run in and let him have it. (I'm fairly sure if your pet delivers the coup de grace, you won't get credit.)

This has got to be even harder for classes with no pet. Priests may be forced to dash out between wild barrage casts and dot him to death. Melee classes will have to stun or interrupt him any way they can and burn him down as quickly as possible. Probably the best bet is to do this in a group and take turns. His spear throws appear to be highly directional, so if you take turns standing behind him and delivering the killing blow, this might be a whole lot easier than soloing it.

This can be a very, very frustrating achievement. I hope this helps.

Hunters are extremely easy for certain classes.
Wait for the cast and avoid first attack (prob not that quick to stop first barrage) and CC hunter (fear,blind etc)
Then just kill it.
Did this first go with rogue and hunter (thx to comments above ofc)

Another way (possible) is aggro the hunter in the cave with the dogs and run round the pillar.....he'll stop casting throw or barrage when out of sight.
Really not a great method tbh but just thought I'd mention it.

It's sort of buried here in this but the Flamewalker Sentinel will emote something like "Time for a swim, Greater Elemental" when he's got your buddy. Strike with all you have at that time. I definitely needed a group for this as my little pets wouldn't get aggro fast enough. He was my hardest one since I am not a pet class.

Like many of you...I was having trouble with the Hunter one. Here's how i did it....

There is a hunter that patrols INSIDE the cave where all the charhound things are sleeping.....I waited till he was slightly deeper inside....and pulled him with my ranged attack , heroic throw. (im a warrior). With space in between us....i LOS'ed him and ran away so that i had the cave wall in between us. Im not sure if his attacks still go through the wall, or if he had to run to the enterance of his cave to see me , THEN threw some more spears...but i DID still get a couple thrown at me...but it seemed to only be one or two....and either way...i got it on my first attempt of doing it this way.

I dont know why i didnt think of it sooner..i had spent weeks trying to get this done. haha. Hope this helps someone out there.

Grab a priest and ask them to MC one and see if they have it, I was lucky and had one find the ability right away, then simply run around in every direction. It is a pain in the arse to find the right hunter though o.O

I did this today: stood near lower entrance to the cavern, aggroed him, and just used Heroic Leap down the way when he started casted. I saw that cast still was casted, but no spears flew to me (I jumped and ran all the time, jsu for sure). Hope this will help.

I think this must be linked to actually not getting hit at all instead of simply not taking damage. Three times now I've gotten one of these hunters to cast Wild Barrage on my paladin at which point I bubble. I don't take any damage but neither do I get the achieve. I put in a ticket about it but just back a boilerplate 'disable your add-ons and delete your WTF, cache and interface folders' response.

I guess I'll give the LoS trick in the hound room a whirl, see if that works for me.

An easy way to get the hunter part of the achievement is to use one of the vents and get to the other side of a rock to where he cant see you. This worked for me at the vent near the entrance, past questgivers

Ok this may seem a little ridiculous but I just got credit for the Wild Barrage by, get this, swimming in the lava.....

For this: Wild Barrage
Trying walking off the ledge into the lava and swimming straight. I did this by accident attempting to jump into a thermal vent and screwed up and just decided to go with it and got credit as soon as the spell ended. Maybe some how it can't hit you in the lava? I dunno but it worked for me and it took me hours to get this so I figured I'd pass it on.

Edit: I figured it out. It's Line Of Sight. If you pass out of LOS while the spell is casting you then you can completely avoid it, beware though any of the spears he throws while you're moving out of LOS will just go through the object and hit you. The easiest way I found to do this is stand right next to the lava and when he starts casting step backward into the lava and swim a couple feet. Once the first spear misses you can just sit there and you won't be hit by the rest. Did this on two toons and has worked both times so far. (I tried clearing the cave of hounds and doing it in there but the time I tried a spear flew through the wall and hit me (that's how I figured out anything already in air will hit you if you pass out of LOS)

Finding a hunter that cast this was absolute hell. I wasted a good hour down there trying all sorts of trickery to get one to cast it at me. In the end I stumbled across the one closest to Thisalee and attacked it, he cast it - so I just zigzagged.

Also, I can confirm that the Argent War Horn will also get picked up by the sentinel!

Engineers can solo the Sentinel/Pick-up challenge by simply using their Cardboard Assassin
Fight the sentinel near lava until he is at about 50% life, then pop out your assassin. In my case he grabbed him right away

Just got this today.The Sentinel part was the most difficult for me and my friend.
Here's what we saw:

The Sentinels are super quick so when throw your friend into the lava, be prepared.
Not all Sentinels throw.
Most of them do it towards 20k HP so be ready.
Kite the Sentinel close to lava helps but remember they run super quick.

the kill sential while it picks up a party member can be soloed, it counts if you dots, pet, or totems kill it while your picked up and it can pick up non-players was surprised but my shaman got this when he picked up my searing totem.

For the Sentinel Grab, if you're a Hunter/Warlock/Death Knight and maybe a Mage (if Frost spec'd), you don't necessarily need someone in your group to achieve this. If the Sentinel grabs your pet/minion and you kill the Sentinel while it's carrying your pet/minion, you will get credit for it and it will count it as a party member. (I found that out today when I received credit for killing the sentinel while he was carrying my pet turtle :D)

I hate this achievement. By far the hardest is with a mage. These mobs hit hard and do their attacks half the time. It is frustrating to have 30% health after every pull to try and get them to do their special move

mages have advantage here cause apparently your images count as a party member and the sentinel will grab your mirror image and if you kill you him you will get credit for achieve i imagine this would work with any npc that draws threat but i have no experience to back that up

i do not see what people are complaining about this isn't vanilla wow where npc 2 shot clothies obviously we are still not strong enough to take full on blows at melee distance but that is what kiting is for and when it comes to mages and running no one runs better then us the hardest part of this achievement was finding a sentinel with the right ability and dodging those spears is no different then dodging ice chunks except the spears are way smaller which only makes it easier but you could all ways break up their focus with some mirror images or water elemental or both if it proves to tasking for you

for any shamans out there heres a tip, for the grab part of the achievement dps it down to about 50/60% and let loose your earth elemental, wait for it to pick up aggro & get grabbed, worked a treat for me, although it takes a while this method due to the huge cooldown of the totem.

You can also solo this achieve by having a Flamewaker Sentinel pick up Thisalee Crow who is the quest giver in the area. Did this with my warrior with no problems. I also used the heat vent for the wild barrage part of this achieve.

It turns out that there is a rather useful trick to getting credit for the Hunter's Wild Barrage if you are or have a priest in your group. Outside of checking with Mind Control to see if a Hunter has Wild Barrage, it can also be used to get credit without actually dodging the move and killing the hunter during it. Simply wait for the Hunter to start preparing to cast Wild Barrage, and time it so that you Mind Control him just as he starts his move (it's best if he manages to shoot off a single spear to be sure). Then, simply wait around ten seconds or so, and you should get credit. I think that if you interrupt his cast with Mind Control, the game simply thinks that the hunter died.

Rogue tips:

Sentinel:
If you are the one being carried then put crippling on your dagger to slow him down when he picks you up. Pop Evasion and hit em till he picks you up. If he doesn't pick you up by the time he's half health he's probably not going to. Burn him and move on to the next one.

If you are killing then let your buddy get aggro then smack the Sentinel once or twice with Mutilate to get a few combo points. As soon as your buddy gets picked up then Kidney Shot and burn him down.

Hunter:
Sap hunter. Kill dog. Stealth then Cheap Shot hunter and Mutilate (full combo points). As soon as hunter does Wild Barrage then Kidney Shot, pop Sprint and run away (preferably behind something) in an erratic matter.

Shaman:
Don't know how I got it but I did just doing dailies. :D

Spent a lot of time doing this. Finally was able to do it by getting the Hunter to CONSISTENTLY fire off the ability.

The way I was able to get him to do Wild Barrage EVERY TIME was by hitting him only once (as a druid I used a Mangle or a Rake), then kill off his dog. When his dog dies, he fires the ability IMMEDIATELY - as if he's mad you killed his dog. After killing his dog, simply take off running away from the hunter and avoid the dark circles on the ground as they appear (this is where his spears hit the ground). If you can avoid the circles on the ground and not get hit by his barrage, you will get the achievement.

The best way you can avoid aggroing everything first is to of course kill everything in the path you are going to run. :)

Contrary to what was originally thought, I do not believe that only certain Hunter spawns have the Wild Barrage ability. I believe this has been proven by the fact that people have waited 45 secs to a min and finally the mob cast it.

After killing these for 3 hrs this is my observation. The hunter has an invisibly enrage that can trigger the Wild Barrage but doesn't always. (SEE above post by Cekis for validation of this) For instance, trapping the hound add and kiting hunter away from him will sometimes trigger it. Rooting hunter and kiting add away and killing add can trigger it.

The best method I have found seems to be to trap the hound, wait for hunter to pay some yards away then hit him with chimera shot (i'm a hunter obviously :P) and he will pop wild barrage 50% more often then if you just aggro without ccing hound. Where'd I get my data? From 3 hrs of non-stop farming these hunters.

Also since the hunters seem to cast Wild Barrage anywhere from immediately upto 1 min from initial aggro feign death or other abilities that reset mobs work well here. Instead of fooling around waiting just aggro, wait 5 secs and see if he casts, if not feign death reset and try again.

finally managed to do this solo on my shadow priest. After trying in vain to get him to pick up my shadow fiend at just the right time i stumbled onto a winning technique. i mc'd a sentinel and saw he had grab (the box was slightly blacker where button 4 should be) but the mc aggro'd a shaman. so i dps'd the shaman down with the sentinel. Then the mc breaks and i cast shadowfiend. He immediately grabbed the shadowfiend, and i cast a shadow word death and WIN. The shaman and his fire got the sentinel so low it was easy. I should note however that I have read that you have to be in a group so i grouped with a lv 1 from a trial account.

Ok, here is the TRICK for getting the Wild Barrage part of the acheeve. Stand on the edge of the rocks right next to the lava. Aggro a hunter. Assuming its the right kind that cast Barrage, the instant he starts to cast, simply jump in the lava. Barrage does not hit you when you are in the lava. When its over come out and kill him. Done

just found out the funny way to solo the Sentinel part for this achievement.
1. Mind control a random mob, aggro the sentinel use the mc'd mob.
2. the sentinel will sure grab the mc'd mob if it has the grab ability. Then you break mc channeling and the 2 mob will be hugging each other in a very weird position.
3. Kill the sentinel and profit :D

PS. I suppose using shadowfiend and fade will do the trick too, but timing would be tricky.

Disarming the sentinel may cause him to not pick up you up. I am not certain, but it took me forever to get the achievement because the rogue I was working in disarmed them nearly every pull... the two times they grabbed one us was when they were not disarmed the entire fight.

So I strongly recommend not disarming any of them...

I only miss the sentinel one, and as a pally I keep alternating between Barov Peasant Caller and Commander's Badge

I tried these today and can confirm that summoning the Netherwing Ally does work for the Commanders Badge minion. Despite me having aggro, the Sentinel picked up my Netherwing Ally and went into the lava with him. I killed the Sentinel and got the credit for the achivement. Did this as a Retri Pali.

As a paladin, the Sentinel achievement was making me mad. 5 hours using 3 guardian summoning items each with a 10 min cooldown was not working, I was going nowhere. My other problem was that I didn't have enough dps as a prot paladin to kill them by the time they went to go to the lava (my other spec was holy). At the 5 hour mark, I remembered that the hunter can cast wild barrage a few times, so does the sentinel use his grab every now and then?

So I found a sentinel that grabs, he grabbed me and pulled me into the lava and walked some distance from the lava, hit him down to 30%, summoned an add and he immediately grabbed it and I nailed him. Boom, achievement.

Tips for soloing sentinel as a shadow priest: don't know if it works to kill it with your own dots while he is carrying you, it didn't work for me apparently.

First of all, not all sentinels have the ability to carry, but you can find out if they do when you mind control them. It will show a blank ability with the number (4) on the spell bar, ability that you can't use but it is there. the ones that can't carry don't have the number on that button. Just go around and mind control sentinels. If they don't have the (4) ability just kill them cause you obviously aggro them anyway and they are useless. This works nicely if you're grouped as a shadow priest. help your group not to run around for nothing. Check the mob!

If they do have the ability throw your shadowfiend out and put it on passive (mine can kill the mob fast :) ) and then fade. Wait until the mob carries your shadowfiend then pew pew him. I tried it 3 times more after i got the achievement just to check and it worked every time.

The hardest part of this achieve is getting the RIGHT Hunter to attack with Wild Barrage. Let me clear up some confusion about this part of the achievement:

1) Not every Hunter will attack you with Wild Barrage.
2) If the spear he chucks at you tracks you as you move IT IS NOT Wild Barrage!
3) LOS tricks or tagging from high places also does not work!
Spears CAN go through walls, lava, and objects.
Attacking from high places causes the mob to start evading.

After many failed attempts trying LOS, lava swims, using vents to jump to higher places, and anything else I could think of I was about to give up. I then decided to just let a Hunter attack me and watch his attacks closely - all Hunters will attack you with their spear attack BUT if the spear tracks your movement it is not Wild Barrage! For it to be Wild Barrage, a black spot will appear underneath your feet, THIS IS YOUR CLUE that the next attack is the right one. Also, it is VERY easy to avoid it - all I did was side strafe it by 3-4 steps, rinse, repeat. Once the achieve hit I let my pet chew on the mob - done! Remember, you may have to go through many Hunters before one will actually attack with Wild Barrage but once he does avoiding it is mega easy.

Wild Barrage is actually the easiest ability to avoid...

aggro the hunter, kill his pet, and then wait to see if it even has the ability.

if it does, back up. the hunter will spam throw for... a long boring time. when he starts channeling wild barrage, just stare at him, and watch were the spears are going as he throws them. you don't need to run fast, or far, or use vents, or look for black dots on the ground... you can just see where the spear actually physically is, its direction, and if its even heading to you... and step away from it if it is...

For the Flamewalker Hunter,
as a Mage, I attacked and wait for him to cast Wild Barrage,
as soon as he casts,
I blinked and ran away with the Improved Blink talent.
Keep running until the cast bar runs out and you will leave the combat.
If you've successfully avoided all the incoming spears, you gain the credit.

Hope this helps. (I'm not sure about other classes, but it won't hurt trying)

I got this achievement 09/21/2011 because the Sentinel picked up the Mirror Image spawned by the Tier 12 Mage set. Completely unexpected; though a patient mage should easily farm this. I will assume the Mirror Image spell will trigger the achievement as well. MI, IB/Invis, wait patiently, burn.

Perhaps a hunter's pet will also count as a group member... Or Barov Peasant Caller.. Rhea's Last Egg.. Gus' First Aid Kit.. Horn of the Traitor.. Defender of the Timbermaw... Who knows.. Try it if you feel like it.

Not 100% confirmed, but reliability of sentinels grabbing you seems to be 100% (Out of only 4 tests, admittedly) if you engage them when you're near lava that you can walk out of.

I can confirm that the Flamewaker Sentinel will grab a Mirror Image.
I popped Mirror Image before i started to attack him and then just let the Mirror Image do the damage when low and behold he picked one up. I then burned him down and got that part of Master of the Molten Flow.

Also the Flamewaker Shaman are a little of a pain if you are well geared and using dots. Most of the time they will kill it before their own Flamewave will. Just remember to be patient with that part of the Master of the Molten Flow.

The Flamewaker Hunter are also a difficult one because they don't all have Wild Barrage . I recommend killing the Charhound first then i just kinda waited him out until he started to cast Wild Barrage. Once it starts to cast then run in a circle but still be mindful of the black circles on the ground because that is where the spears will land.

From my experience doing Druids of the Talon dailies, Flamewaker Hunters almost always cast Wild Barrage against me, no matter if I kill the Charhound first or not. But they don't cast it immediately upon entering combat with them, however it doesn't take more than a minute for them to stop using their guided aim.

I didn't do anything special to avoid the barrages. In fact, just running in a straight line (away from the Hunter) without stopping made me gain the criteria.

As for the Flamewaker Sentinels, I can confirm they also pick up Treants (from the Force of Nature Balance Druid spell) and even Burning Treants summoned by having 2 or more of the current Balance Druid Tier 12 set Obsidian Arborweave Regalia equipped (set bonus)

Here is some good news for those who lack summonable companions/allies/pets, and movement increasing effects:Master of the Molten Flow is doable without the before mentioned help methods.

I performed all 3 challenges on my warrior.

Shaman:
Pretty obvious, the shaman casts a patch of fire on the ground beneath you. Simply move a few feet back, and watch as the creature boils.

Hunter:
Now first of all, i've learned that only the grey-scaled Flamewaker Hunter's has the ability Wild Barrage - this explains why you might have waited forever for the hunter to cast it. If you move far into the cave, there is a big round shaped platform. There you will find a useable Flamewaker Hunter patrolling in circles around the edge. Kill his beloved dog, and the hunter will almost instantly begin casting Wild Barrage. For the first few seconds, move in a straight line away from the hunter, and end it by useing Heroic Leap in any random direction. (Dont stop running at any time)

Sentinel:
The way i did this, demanded that i had not completed the quest , the quest where you have to escort Anren Shadowseeker through the cave. All you have to do, is simply letting him lead the way, and let one of the Flamewaker Sentinel's grab him (be cautious though, Anren does not have much hp at this time, so you have act fast) and then simply kill the hunter. If you fail at this, let Anren die, and restart the quest.

I found the best was for me to get away from wild barrage was to use my inner will and have the swiftness potion on my bar. Kill the annoying Lil hound first. Then i turned away from the tard and waited till i saw him start to cast wild barrage. As soon as it started i clicked the potion and ran away from him simple as that. Be sure to clear out a clear run path so u don't aggro while you are running. One more thing if you get hit by it DON'T go back and kill him as he will start it again

Thought I'd give my 2 cents for the wild barrage.

1) Kill the pet as fast as possible
2) stand at about 10-15 yards from the hunter, your back facing him
3) Wait. If he hasn't cast wild barrage after 30 seconds, kill him and start with another.
4) Wild barrage is first a cast, then a channeling. When you see a hunter start casting wild barrage, run with all speed increases possible (blink, speed potion, hunter disengage, goblin rocket jump) in the opposite direction from the hunter (the one I told you to face in 2) )
5)Success.

Easiest way for a Rogue to do this is when the Hunter starts to cast the Wild Barrage ability just use Vanish and the Hunter will continue to cast the entire Wild Barrage not shooting a single spear but when it finishes casting it will count toward your achievement. Just tried this today on accident and it worked.

I found the Hunter part of this achieve to be very frustrating. As a Protection Paladin it makes it a little more difficult. This is what I did that worked for me. I aggro hunters till I found one that would cast Wild Barrage. Luckily the one I found was in the cul de sac cave with the other hounds. When he started to cast it I knew I found one so I ran off until he reset. After he reset and went back to roaming I ran back and let him go into the bottom part of the cul de sac. I killed all the hounds in the upper one and waited for him to come back. Once in range I stood right next to the cave entrance. Threw Avenger's shield which dazed him for a second. After that he immediately started to cast Wild Barrage. I ran out of LOS and just kept running down to the lower entrance of that cave. By the time I got to the entrance I got achieve. I just ran back up and finished him off. Took close to 3 hrs to get it right but finally done.

I just recently made it, maybe i got luck without planing it. But the main story here is that it worked fine and i got the acheivement done. Here is what you need to do my friend.

The inner cave where all the sleeping charhound are, there will be a patrull with his dog. Wait for him to walk near the exit of the small cave where all the sleeping hounds are, as soon he makes barriage, run out and he will be kind of LoS, just run while he is in there and you will have this huge mountain wall between you too, and when he was finished it, i just nuked him down.

I hate achievements like this! I have gotten the shaman and hunter done, no problem really. The sentinel on the other hand is a major pain in my BUTT. I spent several hours down there trying it with a guildie to start--NO LUCK. I then read 2 pages of notes and went back to it solo on my arcane mage. I tried someones suggestion of putting down mirror image and hope one got picked up, no luck. I tried getting the escort in the way of one of them, no luck. I was going to try n use invisibility,pop out of lava, and pop mirror, no luck. If they would pick you up as bit more often, it might make it more tolerable. I am not saying make it totally easy, but c'mon.
I guess this one is going to be like the Blades Edge Bomberman was to my shammy--a LONG battle.

For the hunter's wild barrage i've found a way, finaly that works.

After several hours or farming all the hunters, trying to kite them into lava, trying to do mostly greyish ones and trying to do the one in the cave....nothing.....till the first one to Cast Wild barrage on me killed me with it because i was looking here for answers meanwhile :S

but noticed something, something very important. and tried it again and worked on the first shot.

Been trying to get this for a while. Hunter being the pain as others say. I'd pretty much given up but today was AOE'ing hounds down, hunter agros so I hit invisibilty (mage). He then started the barrage, when I popped up he'd gone and the achievement dinged! :p

It's accually very simple, all you have to is clear the area of every living thing while searching for the one Flamewalker Hunter that casts Wild Barrage. I found him on a respawn in an area I cleared All I did was strafe back and forth using my Q and E Key's a black spot never got close to me, got the achievement the first try.

Did this achievement as a shadow priest today and tagged a sentinel with SWP and flayed him down until around 15% then ran close to the lava and sent out my shadow fiend... The sentinel grabbed the fiend immediately and I SWD and got that part done. The shaman was simple. The hunter took some time but I just waited in the area where you first encounter mobs and waited for the hunter spawn. I attacked and burned him down and when I saw the warning, I used my eng tinker and ran up the ramp.... Got it..15 minutes total for all 3.

A big thank you for who ever posted about going in circles for the Wild Barrage. I used it today - up arrow and left arrow at the same time to make a continuous circle while the barrage is going on. It worked perfectly the first time! I was pulling my hair out on the Hunters until I tried this tip! THANK YOU!

Apologies if this has been posted already, but 300 comments? I'm just gonna hope it's unique. Most of the ones I read before my eyes protested suggest running in circles.

However I found an interesting (some might call it "cheap") way to obtain the Wild Barrage portion of this achievement. There is a cave further along where many sleeping Charhounds dwell that you need for the Hounds of Shannox. Now then, there is a hunter that will patrol through this area. I'll screenshot it shortly. A pet is helpful, but I don't think it's 100% necessary. Aggro the hunter within the cavern and the moment you see his barrage starting, zip around outside the (for lack of a better term) cave kennel to the right (there's a little nook) and wait out the barrage. A pet just helps you stand at range and sidestep out of LoS once the barrage begins, making it much more likely that you'll not get hit. But I imagine for melee any sort of dash or leap will put you in the right place quick enough. Even a bubble could do the trick for casters without pets to do the dirty work.

Edit: D'oh! Paladin Prae beat me to the punch. I just didn't go so far as to wipe out all the hounds in the room

Sentinel one doesn't work if you're in a group with someone who has already completed it. I'm not sure about the shaman or the hunter but I left group and got the achievement while the sentinel grabbed my Water Elemental.

Sentinel -
Got this achievement today as a Paladin using Cardboard Assassin

Got Sentinel to to 75%, Stunned
Dpsed him to 20-25%
Dropped Cardboard Assassin and backed up
Sentinel Picked up Assassin
Killed Sentinel and got achievement

This took a while, b/c the Cardboard Assassin is on a 5 min cooldown and The Sentinel didn't pick me or anything else up on my first 5 or 6 attempts; but if you're a class without a pet this option might work for you.

As a fury warrior and engineer, I was able to solo this with an Elementium Dragonling. With the Dragonling, I was able to get two separate attempts because of its duration. Couple that with another pet trinket and you can cycle through them pretty quickly.

Just a heads up, but when I cast hex on the hunter who was casting the wild barrage I did not get credit for surviving w/o getting hit. Maybe some people got lucky or they patched it, but it looks like CCing them while they are casting the barrage doesn't give credit.

The hunter's Wild Barrage ability has a 1 minute cooldown. Also, the requirement for him indicates that you only need to survive the Wild Barrage, not defeat the enemy.

Stand 15-30 yards away from him while he's barraging you, and run in random patterns away from any dark circles on the ground.

If you don't get the achievement the first time, leave him alive and just wait until he casts the spell again.

Finally did this after 3 hours on those damn hunters. I never want to see that cave again.

OK...YOU CAN KILL THE DOG! I had read that you can't but its not true.
Also...THERE IS A 60 SECOND TIMER BETWEEN BARRAGES...but he does let off 2 at a time so if you miss his first lot dodge his second.

Speed pots & RUNNING IN CIRCLES works the best. And if you do get hit, be patient...just run around killing other stuff till the timer goes down. If your a hunter yourself be sure & put your pet on passive. I was on my Hunter and was able to use pack too...his 'throw' spell doesn't cause stun...pack helped a *lot*.

Hopefully, you won't have the problems I did in getting this. So much wrong info....the lava makes no difference. Some do it but most don't. And the colour of them makes no difference either...it just seems really random!

How do i as Rogue avoid the Barrage from the Hunters, I have tried nearly every thing on here but just can't seem to avoid the barrage when he starts. Running in circles, q, a keys don't help, unless I am doing something wrong. I presume his barrage starts when he jumps back? I have tried to sprint away had a exilir or speed but it hits me all the time! How have other meless's done this or is it just luck? Please help before I pull my hair out?

I would like to add that you DO NOT need a second party member to complete this achievement! You probably know the drill for hunter and shaman. Avoid Barrage from hunter and kill shaman with his own lava thingie.

But about the Sentinel that you need a grabbed ally, THIS DO WORKS FOR PETS AND MINIONS. I recieved this achievement today by using my Water Elemental. My Water Elemental just "tanked" it at once the Sentinel picked him up I killed him and got the achi. So it works if you have pet / minions too!

As far as my knowledge span goes, this achievement is unable to be soloed as a Hunter, Mage, or Warlock. I was sorta hoping the sentinel would carry my pet into the lava, but that doesn't work. :(

So, grab a pal and head on into the Molten Flow to complete this achievement.

Wild Barrage will leave black circles on the ground, avoid those to match this criteria!
Flamewave will be cast by the Shamans, in most cases the Shaman will have some sort of speech before they cast this - when they do look for a square spot of fire. Kite the Shaman into this location, then kill him/her.
Grabbed is highly noticeable. The Flamewaker Sentinel will grab his target and dart for the lava that is...well...everywhere! So, once the sentinel grabs your friend, or a complete stranger, kill the sentinel! (Note: The player who has been grabbed, will not get this credit!)

I had some trouble with the Hunter part of this achievement. This is not a guide on how to dodge the barrage itself, many other people already commented on that.

My problem was the fact that you have to kill about 3 shamans and 3 sentinels for every hunter, and then the hunter seems to have a small (about 1/4) chance to actually use barrage. So in short you have to do a LOT of killing, and then if you stuff up the barrage attempt you get to start all over. Was really really frustrating.

But this is how i solved it:
Once you finally find a Hunter that does Barrage but you fail to dodge it. Simply kill the Hunter's Pet, and then disengage (evade) the Hunter. If you then attack it again it will still have the Barrage ability, and you get to try again.
If you fail again, evade, and retry.
Once you find a Hunter with Barrage he will use it every time you engage him, so its very simple to find one and then re-try Barrage until you finally succeed.

Hope this helps someone to have a less frustrating time than I did.

P.s. I have bad latency, so dodging the Barrage actually took me several attempts.

I just did this achieve today. The two most difficult was the sentinel and the hunter.

I think I found a good method to do both of them though. For the hunter, the hardest part was finding an NPC that has the ability, I think of the 30 I killed, only one had it. Once I found him, I ran away, let him reset, and cleared the room. The second time I approached him, he cast wild barrage and I tried holding the left and up arrow together (running in a circle), and it worked perfectly. After I dodged, I engaged and killed him.

For the sentinel, I had nothing except a Bubblier Brightbrew charm for a "party" member. I found a sentinel with the ability, and let him carry me into the lava, then, I engaged and reduced his health to maybe 1/10th of his health bar, then I used the bubblier brightbrew charm, and he immediately grabbed my little helper, I promptly killed him and got the achieve. I believe the sentinel will NOT grab the same party member twice in a row, so when you present it with a new party member, it will promptly try to use its ability.

I decided to do this achievement since i was missing only the "Hunter" barrage.
I was reading for about half hour comments,trying to search for video ore any other useful thing.
Hopefully i found place in Molten where i can LoS and i DID it - so LoS-ing Wild Barrage works (or i was very lucky).

So yes, its easy and it seems almost every Hunter cast Wild Barrage as i did this at 9th kill.

Just did this on my rogue...brought a warrior friend to help with the sentinal grab...the shammy was real simple...the hunter however was tricky for my warrior friend at least...i got it second try by using sprint and running a circle around the hunter while the barrage was goin on...

the server was resetting as we were trying to get the achieve for warrior...was wondering if i used kick or kidney shot to interupt the barrage would it count for the other party member...? never got to try it, like i said...server maintennance, what a bummer..!

For the Sentinels, trinkets that summon a pet definitely still work. Took a while for it to happen but he finally picked a gnome from my Tiny Voodoo Mask to drag to the fire and I got it.

For the Hunter, it was a bit of a pain but you have to 'trigger' them to cast Wild Barrage; for me I killed their dog, did some damage, took a few throws then moved into melee, when he finally started casting it. Pop a speed boost, run around for a bit and you've got it. If you mess up just mark the mob and use a reset like shadowmeld.

This quest starts with General Taldris Moonfall (45, 85), after turning in first round of dailies she will offer two more. Select Into the Fire to gain access to required area for quest. Complete the quest, and once dropped down into The Molten Flow area, you can start hunting down the Shaman, Hunter and Sentinel.

Hunter tips.

For Shaman: Put your pet on passive when attacking. Walk up to Shaman and it will start to attack. If it doesn't cast fire in first few seconds, enable aggressive pet and wipe it. It if does cast fire, take a few steps back to get Shaman into fire, then enable aggressive on pet and wipe him.

For Sentinel. Move your pet into path of Sentinel, make sure growl is on to attract attention. Let your pet attack, do not attack even if you get knocked-back. The Sentinel will eventually pickup your pet and carry it into the lava. Once in the lava start shooting the Sentinel, after first shot put aggressive back on and wipe him.

For Hunter. This one is pretty hard, as no matter how I moved he constantly hit me. Walk up to a hunter, about 5-10 yards, and fire. Stay close for spear attacks, but keep an eye on the ground for the marker (dark) spots. Sometimes he will jump back, this usually indicates barrage about to happen. Once you see spots, use the A/W or A/D key moves listed in other postings to avoid arrows. After about ten-seconds you will have finished. I have pet attacking entire time, and do attack until he begins barrage. Hardest part is not all will do the barrage, so if you are not seeing a spot on ground, wipe him.

For the Hunter's Wild Barrage, as a Demon lock, I did NOT have the demon out- (as having him out, AND hitting first but running in circles before the 1st hit, wasn't working) I hit him with BoA, made sure he HAD spears by getting hit, THEN started to run in circles, used soulburn, then instant Fel summon, corruption,CoE, and had the Fel use felstorm, all castable by moving. Worked like a charm!
Didn't even worry about triggering anything else, just kept running like an idiot. Got it 1st try THIS WAY.

To get the Flamewaker Sentinel's objective for this achievement solo, the following methods can be used:
Druids - If you're a balance druid, your treants from Force of Nature can be picked up in place of a party member.
Warlocks - Any of your summoned demons can be picked up in place of a party member.
Mages - If you're a frost mage, your water elemental from Summon Water Elemental can be picked up in place of a party member. For non-frost mages, a mirror image should work.
Death Knights - Your risen ghouls and Army of the Dead ghouls can be picked up in place of a party member.
Hunters - Your tamed pet can be picked up in place of a party member.
Shamans - If you're an enhancement shaman, your spirit wolves from Feral Spirit can be picked up in place of a party member.
Paladins - If you're a holy paladin, your Guardian of the Ancient Spirits from Ancient Healer should work.
Priest - If you're a shadow priest, your shadowfiend from Shadowfiend should work.

For other classes and specs - The easiest way to solo this is to have the escort quest . Anren Shadowseeker can be picked up in place of a party member. You may fail the quest, however, as he does not have very much health until you make your way through the area.

If you've already done this quest, any item that grants a temporary minion or guardian should work. This includes items like Barov Servant Caller and Elementium Dragonling.

My hunter got it while the sentinel was carrying her pet; my shaman while the sentinel was carrying her totem; my DK while the sentinel was carrying her ghoul. The easiest tactic i have found so far is even simpler: Just run away from them. All spears will hit the ground behind you. They won't interrupt their casting if you get far away from them and their is no fancy dodging or anything required, running in a straight line works just fine. Obviously, this requires that you have some space to run to, but that is almost always given. The hardest part really is finding one that has and will use barrage

I was having issues with this part of the achievement, especially being on poor internet. This tip got me the achievement on the first try. Just make sure you have a clear path and gtfo!

From a shadow priest's view going after this achievement, the only problem will be the hunter.

For the shaman, just kite him in the fire when he dies.

For the sentinel, dot the mob and wait for him to grab you. I casted mind flay and killed him.

For the hunter, have fun... (took me three days of trial and error to get this). I was able to get it by clearing the mobs on the 2nd portion (where the 2 hunters are, yes just nuke them down). Make sure all mobs that across are dead as well. Then go back to the bridge in-between the portion where the first hunter is and the 2nd portion. I casted SW:P and had him follow me to the 2nd portion. He stopped in the bridge but I had the whole 2nd portion of empty space to move around (also putting the camera above you and zooming out at max helps a lot). Once I noticed him casting the barrage and the black circles appeared, I jumped and spun around in a completely random orders -- once the barrage was over, I got the achievement -- before he died.

Also, I noticed they will throw several together (in groups of three, simply avoiding them is the majority of the dodging).

After spending several hours trying to solo the Sentinel portion of the achievement as a Ret Pally, I want to share my thoughts to save people some aggravation.

First of all, only a very small percentage of the Sentinels have the ability, but luckily they're easily to spot because they are a different color than the others (they are greenish, the others are yellow/reddish). They can take awhile to spawn, so I just circled around and killed yellow/red ones until I found a greenish one.

Second, if you are a non-pet/minion class, do yourself a favor and get two trinkets that summon helpers. Pally Guardians DO NOT count here, and cannot be targeted. I've tried. Personally, I used Rhea's Last Egg and Figurine - Emerald Boar, because I was a jewel crafter. I probably would have used Figurine - Khorium Boar instead of the Egg, if Khorium wasn't so expensive. Really, it doesn't matter what you have here as long as you have two ways to summon minions. That way, when you do find the right colored Sentinel, you'll have a much better chance of him targeting one of our dudes instead of you (67% vs. 50%).

Third, the amount of damage to deal can be tricky, as you don't want to kill him before he uses the ability, but on the other hand, you don't want him at full health when/if he picks someone up. As other folks have mentioned, though, you want to hit him with a stun or slow ASAP, once he uses the ability to make absolutely sure you kill him.

Last, make sure you're standing next to lava. I've heard if you're too far away, he won't use the ability, although I have not experienced that firsthand.

I did this today as Prot Paladin. The sentinel part was the only one "hard" to get the achievement.

I mean "hard" because I did it alone, just using my Divine Shield when he grabbed me.
Kill him while you are under the effect of divine shield and thats it :D

So, this one was a bit of a pain. The main reason is that the Flamewakers do not always use their special abilities.

First off, in order to do this achieve, you must be far enough into the Firelands Invasion Dailies to open " ."

After falling into the pit, you will see all of the Flamewalkers needed for the quest.

Here is how I did it on my Arc/Frost Mage

Flamewaker Shaman - I got the shaman down to about 10%, then kept away from him hitting my defensive CDs until he cast Flamewave. I stood in the flamwave waiting for him to come to me. Upon "vent" of the flamewave, the Shaman died and I got that part of the achieve.

Flamewaker Sentinal - I switched to Frost Mage for this. I summoned my water elemental. It took about 10 Sentinals before he actually picked up my water elemental (either my elemental would kill the Sentinal or the sentinal would kill my elemental and I would start over). The first time he picked up my elemental, he ran away from me to the lava. I was way back so by the time I got in range, he was done. So, the next time, I positioned myself between the Sentinal and the lava. He grabbed my Elemental and I killed him. Done.

One thing I did notice with the Sentinal is that after I switched to Arc to finish the Dailies, one grabbed me an jumped in the water. I was able to kill him quickly, so I really do not think a "party" member is needed for the Sentinal.

Flamewaker Hunter - As others have said, this was the trickiest. I tried the trick of hanging around the corner from the cave of sleeping dogs, but the spears went through the walls. I tried using Ice Block, but Iceblock was about 1 second too short and I got hit with one at the very end. Finally, when the Hunter started his attack, I Teleported out and ran away. Lo and behold, I got the achieve. I didn't even kill the Hunter, I just ran and got it.

Regarding the hunter and his Wild Barrage:
1. To get the achievement you must survive the ENTIRE barrage, without getting hit. If you kill him or interrupt him, ice block, etc.... you will not get credit towards the achievement
2. I attacked a hunter and he cast wild barrage, I got hit, so I cast Invisibility to break combat and try again with the same hunter. On the 2nd attempt, he NEVER cast Wild barrage and I let the fight go for 30 secs. So the ability is random.
