Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater
Use this item in Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff, Silvermoon City, and Undercity.
It is possible to enter each of these cities without dying or aggroing any guards, save Silvermoon City where you cannot fly and there are guards posted at the only entrance.

Also please for god's sake stop downrating this for the content of the replies. There's a button on the replies for that.

EDIT:Scuttler's Shell will enable you to complete Silvermoon without aggroing any guards, and will actually allow you to get fairly deep into the city as well.

Im excited to see Blizz implement this Achievement! Its great to see them add another Achievement to "spice things up" a bit ;)

This will hopefully prove to be both interesting & fun, as well as adding some extra holiday cheer to the opposing faction! :D

You can also trade your Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater in for gold, for those that prefer ;) You'll recieve Scrooge's Payoff, which will give you 5 gold.

It looks like we get this achievement by using Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater, which will be the gift for 2011. So we won't be able to complete this achievement until Christmas Day.

This route should work for getting it as quickly as possible (assuming you have your hearth in Stormwind):

From Ironforge, take a flight path to Shattered Sun Staging Area on the Isle of Quel'Danas. There is a warp jump after you fly out of Ironforge to QD. Then when you land take another flight to Zul'Aman. If you fly direct from Ironforge to Zul'Aman, you go the long way, all the way up the coast.
Ride to Silvermoon City. If you bring a water walking potion or two, you can ride up along the lakes and rivers at the eastern edge of the zone. Just make sure to avoid the small outposts with the large guards.
Ride through the gates of Silvermoon City. ~~After you get killed by the guards, it may take you one or two more deaths to get outside their aggro range, inside the city~~. The guards at the cities aren't the level 90 super guards, so you may or may not be able to take care of them. There is a nice gallery near the front entrance that you can rez in, that should be outside any guard aggro range if you're level 85. Do your song.

If you do manage to get killed, be careful about spirit rez'ing. As I recall, the graveyard you rez at is inside aggro range of the guards at the small outpost there.

Ride back to Zul'Aman, and take a flight to Andorhal in Western Plaguelands. Fly to Undercity. Make sure you are in a zone that says Undercity, the courtyard and several other aboveground areas don't count. When you get flagged for PvP (on a PvE servers), or if you open your map and it shows the Undercity zone instead of Tirisfal Glades, you're in the right place. Flying down into the actual city through the side entrance shouldn't be necessary. Once you've done your singing, you can hearth back to Stormwind.
Take the Cataclysm portal from Stormwind to Mt Hyjal. If you have epic flying+ you're probably better off flying directly from Mt Hyjal to Orgrimmar. The flight paths out of Mt Hyjal are mostly on long looping indirect paths. Once you've done your singing in Orgrimmar, fly on down to Thunder Bluff, and you're done. While you're in Thunder Bluff, you can just land in the valley between two mesas and sing there, you don't have to be up in the city proper.

Or, as has been pointed out, you can take the zeppelin from Undercity to Orgrimmar. I find landing all the way on top of the bag works well when I'm riding Horde zeppelins. The zeppelin to Orgrimmar has the red Orgrimmar banners at the landing, so you can be sure you're on the correct one.
You can do your singing without even leaving your ride. There is a zeppelin that runs from Orgrimmar to Thnderbluff as well, but I think a flying mount is probably faster than hanging around Orgrimmar dodging guards and other players while you're waiting for the zeppelin.

You may want to wait a day or two before doing this, there are sure to be hordes of griefers trying to interfere with people trying for this achievement.

To get this achivement u need to get 1 of 3 presents from under the chistmas tree in ironforge chistmas 2011 one of the presents is a guaranteed sweater

In Silvermoon City I used camouflage (I'm a hunter) to enter the Shephards Gate and once inside sang my carol. Was in and out in 10 secs with no guards bothering me.

I'm not sure of the quickest way to get to Silvermoon... The portal to Isle of Quel'Danas from Shattrath and then fly to Zul'Aman, and ride, maybe?

I also did my daily Greench quest at the same time (I flew up for the daily, then headed to the cities).

It is possible to get in and out of Silvermoon without dying (as a death knight). Just set up your death gate just out of aggro range of the first guards, run in, carol, and keep casting Chains of Ice on the guards as you run back to your death gate. If you find yourself rather low on health, then work up a bit of runic power and use death pact on your ghoul. Druids can prowl, rogues stealth, etc. Who knows, maybe a potion of invisibility will work, or an engineer's invisibility field?

I would then head to Undercity. I found that caroling in the ruins didn't work, and so went to the sewers. Just inside the entrance, after it comes up with Undercity on your screen, is fine. Then take the zeppelin to Orgrimmar. The balcony kind of part at the back ensures you won't get aggro if you land there (apart from the bruisers who will shoot at you a bit before you disappear, this won't kill you though).

Carol straight away when you arrive in Orgrimmar. I found that in Orgrimmar its rather dangerous flying about after departing the zeppelin due to the wind rider guards about. Although I didn't try myself, it might be advisable to go straight from the Undercity zeppelin to the Thunder Bluff zeppelin, and stay on that until you get out of the city. If you die, I'd resurrect at the graveyard. You don't want to end up running around the city and dying lots trying to get out.

Whether you fly or take the zeppelin then to Thunder Bluff, if you land on the very edge of one of the outer rises (I did Elder Rise, the first one I reached after flying from Orgrimmar), then you shouldn't aggro. You can then carol and hearth back to safety.

In Silvermoon, I used an invisibility potion, walked in, used the item, then ran out. 0 damage taken, easy.

From an Alliance point of view (at lvl 85):

Silvermoon: Just run past the first bend. Your chat should change to Silvermoon before you even see the first guards. If you are max level, they will not trigger while you are carolling them.

Undercity: Singing in the courtyard does not count. Just run a few steps inside the building and sing. Generally, you know you are in the right place as soon as your chat changes to the respective city.

Orgrimmar: Just fly in, land on some roof and sing, sing, sing!

Thunderbluff: Same here. Land on a tent of your choice and carol away.

Undercity is probably the easiest as no flight is required, just walk into the sewer entrance. No guards and rarely any enemy players. Thunder Bluff is also very simple, just fly or walk up close to it and sing. In Orgrimmar you can land up in the mountains above the city and sing, no guards or players to bother you. That leaves Silvermoon...the lack of flight and only one very well guarded entrance makes this one a pain. If you are 85 and can stealth it's not too difficult, otherwise you'll have to contend with the guards and possibly players. I recommend doing it last as your sweater does have durability.

Alliance side for Thunderbluff you can just land on the mountains outside the city and it flags you. No guards or players to worry about. For Org, land on the bridge outside the flying patrols path, again no one sees you. The rest you can figure out, this is a pretty easy achievement. Easier than the BB gun one!

For Alliance to get the Undercity, use the Sewers Entrance. Go in about 30 yards, that should be enough.

Orgrimmar,Fly in over the rear gate, there is a ledge along the right side you can land on.

Thunderbluff, just land behind one of the buildings near the edge. I have a Skywitch's Drape in case a pat does get me.

Silvermoon.. Well.. The only way I know is if you have a pet, let them draw your aggro as you run in, use your sweater, then run back out. Any helpful information on Silvermoon would be appreciated.

For Silvermoon, if you can take out or root/overrun the guards, then it's pretty easy.

Just go through the main entrance, but don't finish your first turn: you will aggro the two outside guards, but don't go too close to the guards inside.

Use your Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater, and then run out, the guards will disengage soon enough (if not, it's kill or be killed).

I just did this as (enhancement) shaman, without any trouble.

Thunder Bluff can also be done by landing on the big central totem (the one with the flight master).

It's non-obvious, but click on the sweater to sing.

For Undercity, I went into the sewer. I could get into the canal area no problem.
Orgrimmar involved sitting on top of the balloon from UC/Brill to Org. I never left the balloon.
Thunder Bluff had me park on a tent roof and there were no NPCs in sight.
I got lucky at Silvermoon. Someone killed the two outermost guards. I ran in on the mount and managed to get out of aggro range of the backup guards.

For Silvermoon, I did have my 'toon wearing nothing but a tabard and the sweater. Also, I tried invisibility potion, but it is of a short duration and you are not mounted for it. I was not convinced I could get past the guards that way, although someone with steady nerves might do it.

Getting the Silvermoon City one completed without aggro

As of today, there is a hole in the back wall of Silvermoon City at 52.29

Use water walking elixir/levitate/path of frost/etc across the water in the rear of the city to get to the location. Walk through the hole/opening till you see the city inside and sing away. Make sure you are far enough in to be flagged pvp! I have uploaded a complied photo for everyone to see. Photo

About 39.30 there are 90 elite guards at the bridge but are easily avoidable by going around them.

After testing this with my Draenei found she could not reach in far enough as my Human and NE characters could. This might have a similar issue to the hole in the front of the city; where some models are designed too big; not a tall or short issue but a width issue. So if you have a small race you should be able to do this without any troubles.

Orgrimmar, I stood on the post of the rare door. The bat guards patrol around but you have plenty of time to sing and mount up.

Thunder bluff is the same. Just stand on something high like the big totem or some big tent to avoid the ground guards. I did it on the Elder Edge.

Undercity, I sang in the throne room where Arthas murdered his father. I don't like the stinking pipes XD

Silvermoon is the hardest. My friend and I just mounted up and run into the city. You can use the sweater in combat and complete the achievement with no problem. And there is no guard in front of the tavern of Silvermoon. I revived my friend there and hearthed.

If you're like me, you don't PVP but you want this achievement. This is what I did in order to get the achievement with the least amount of agro from the Horde:

Start from StormWind and take the flight point as close to Undercity as possible.

Undercity - You have to go inside the main building up to the room before the elevators. Song will count at this point. Take the FP to the Ghostlands and fly to Silvermoon.

Silvermoon - You know what's awesome? You can't fly in these zones! Well anyway, just follow the road. You will find one 85 around Tranquil but you can fear him. Keep going north and go to Silvermoon - NOT Ruins of Silvermoon. When you get in the room, there will be 4 mobs on you - fear them and sing. Then get out of there. They will stop following you after 5 seconds.

Hearth back to Stormwind and take the boat to Kalimdor. Take the flight point to Ratchet and fly north east to Orgimmar.

Orgrimmar - You can sing the song from the rock high above Orgrimmar left of the Valley of Spirits. There really aren't an flight points that would save much time, so I just flew from Orgrimmar to Thunder Bluff.

Thunder Bluff - Take the flight point to Nijel's Point in Desolace and the fly west to Thunder Bluff. You can land behind the buildings and the trees. Song will count there.

Hearth back to StormWind (if you're in a high enough guild) and enjoy your achievement!

Ok, there is a lot of good advice here, and some bad advice. It can be hard to separate the two.
Take the time to read through it.
First, map your Gaudy Sweater to a hot button, you don't want to think while in enemy territory or in combat.

Silvermoon City - My main is a warlock gnome. I stripped, and could NOT get through the crack that exists at 52, 29.
I had to go through the main gate. Maybe, probably someone had killed the guards, I just stayed to right (EAST) and avoided a mod on the left (WEST), used my sweater and fled. My minion got into a bit of trouble, but well minions are expendable.
This city was the hardest due to lack of flying, which forces the player to enter through the main gates.

(Perhaps the ability to get through the crack is SERVER dependent because it makes no sense that a Human or Night Elf can get through, but a dwarf or gnome can't. I am on Alterac Mtns.)

The Undercity - No one had posted "Sewer Entrance" co-ords when I went to do this, and I wanted to get this done. So I flew into the courtyard and then one of the arches that looked like an entrance. The Chat pane indicated the location as the Undercity, so I clicked on my sweater, got that part of the achieve, and fled. No one was there. I was actually surprised that I wasn't challenged there.

Orgimmar - I thought this would be difficult. It was not. It was one of the easiest. I flew up from Theramore. As I nearred Orgrimmar, I went to the right (EAST) found a ledge and used my sweater. No one noticed me. Then I mounted and flew to Thunderbluff,

Thunderbluff - Also easy with flying. I just went to the nearest tent, and landed on top of it. I did notice a guard so I waited for it to pass just in case I aggroed it. Hit the hot button, got the achieve, and fled.

I have considered returning the sweater but
A) Is 5 G really going to make a big difference?
B) Will there be a FoS next year for having the sweater? I don't know know. There is no special gift from this year's gift, so perhaps I should hold on to it.

Good place for Undercity is high u at 65,24 there's a bell tower and a dome. You are pvp flagged there and can do the singing quickly and easily without having to go to the ground.

Starting on December 25 will give you A Winter Veil Gift which rewards Winter Veil Gift which contains Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater which awards Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater and is necessary for A-Caroling We Will Go (Alliance) (this achievement) or A-Caroling We Will Go (Horde).

I was able to sing from the ruins and get credit. Fly to the middle and drop atop of the broken tower with a bell inside. Just stand on the ledge and sing. Bingo!

You are only required to be in the city zone, no matter where inside of it for the singing to count towards the achievement. All you need is a flying mount and this one is a breeze (at least for three cities you won't need to fear being detected).

Here is an example route for Alliance players:

Entrance to sewers of Undercity (Tirisfal 51.0, 71.5)
Continue to Silvermoon to some corner where you won't be detected by guards and have time to use your hearthstone (Silvermoon e.g. 64.0, 32.0)
In Thunderbluff on top of the big totem is ideal (Thunderbluff 46.5, 50.0)
Orgrimmar anywhere on the rocks around the city (Orgrimmar e.g. 35.0, 85.0)
Enjoy your A-Caroling We Will Go achievement

Orgrimmar - Zep from UC to Orgrimmar (land on top of balloon)
Thunderbluff - fly away from Zep in Orgrimmar to TB and land on any of the low rocks scattered around TB

No PvP engagement from players or guards.

My preferred route would assuming your HS is set to Stormwind, you're 84+ and have opened the Twilight Highlands portal:

-> Fly to Ironforge
-> Fly by taxi to Isle of Quel'Danas (you get a fast forward to the Isle just after leaving Ironforge)
-> Fly by taxi to Zul'Aman
-> Land mount to Silvermoon go in the front door
-> Use your Gaudy Winter Sweater
-> Hearthstone to Stormwind
-> Take portal to the Twilight Highlands
-> Fly manually to Undercity sewers
-> Use your Gaudy Winter Sweater
-> Land your flying mount on the Undercity to Orgrimmar zepplin (the western zepplin from the eastern tower)
-> Ride the zepplin to Orgrimmar
-> Use your Gaudy Winter Sweater
-> Fly manually to Thunder Bluff
-> Use your Gaudy Winter Sweater
-> Hearthstone to Stormwind

Now if you're feeling brave you could spice it up and get BB King while you're at it!
