From a dialogue of level 85 raid Nefarian, it seems that he comes back has an undead dragon and he says he brings a guest, said guest being his sister Onyxia, which will probably be undead too. Seems you'll have to defeat both at the same time.

Defeating in a flamboyant manner: using a raid made completely of Blood Elves.

Shouldn't be too hard to get a group for this.

Seems very much like Neck-Deep in Vile, where a ranged heavy raid composition is absolutely required to obtain this achievement. Sorry melee . . .

We tried this achievement today, and successfully brought Nefarian below 50% before he landed.
However, the achievement tracking remained red and we didn't get the achievement after we defeat Nefarian.

What we've done/not done in this try:
a. We did brought him under 50% before he landed but he release electrocute the moment he landed.
b. When lava started going down, Nefarian is at approximately 52%.

Do we have to brought him below 50% before lava starting fade away? Or this achievement is simply bugged?

Well, the definition/s of flamboyant:
1. strikingly bold or brilliant; showy: flamboyant colors.
2. conspicuously dashing and colorful

SO...perhaps everyone should dress up in their seasonal event attire of choice and have at the pair?
Imagine a raid full of gnome Santas and Mrs. Santas all sporting pumpkin heads!
The healers could shoot off the occasional firework in between heals! lol

In order to get this achievement, you have to bring Nefarian to sub-50% (meaning you will get full five crackles) before phase three starts.

Probably the only way to do this currently is getting three crackles in phase one. This is achieved by triggering the third crackle (bring Nef below 70%) and kill Onyxia before it actually hits (if you don't do this, she will overload and simply kill your raid). The time window for this is roughly 5 seconds and afterwards you will have to heal up your raid before everybody swims to his platform. (We actually had to do this at our firstkill as we were not able to keep people up during crackle in P2).
In P2, you simply assign your range DPS to Nefarian straight away, the raid does NOT take any more damage whether the adds are alive or not. The only thing necessary is to beat the adds and the next 20% of Nefarian within the two minutes this phase overs - As Nef hast 28.5m HP in 10-man/ 98M in 25-man, that takes very strong DPS on him (roughly 47k / 163k by ranged dds only). Probably achievable with decent debuffs and heroism in P2. On the plus side, phase three will be a walk in the park as Nef is already below 50%. Have fun!

EDIT: Mind that you can only damage Nefarian for 15% of his HP in P2 (did not know that when writing the above) so while it is true that you must get 3 crackles in P1, you also have to bring Nefarian to <65% before he starts P2, meaning Heroism right before he hits 70% is highly recommended.

Kill 2 adds in P2 and then have everyone swim through the lava onto the one platform where the add is still alive. This will make the healing far easier (especially due to spells like Healing Rain, Efflorescence, Holy Radiance and Holy Word: Sanctuary) and more stable, as well as the use of cooldowns like Power Word: Barrier better.
If you struggle with swimming through the lava, consider using your holy priest/resto druid for at least one of the platforms to heal through the damage directly while swimming via HoTs, Prayer of Mending and the like.

Then it's simply a matter of DPS/Healer mana which shouldn't be a problem at all if you're in decent raid gear.

We've tried this achievement for 3 or 4 weeks with no success. Each time we took 3 Cracles in phase one, and 2 in phase two.

On the first we simply made sure Nefarian is below 50% when he touches the ground - no achievement.
2nd week, we managed to get a few more %'s off him before he touched the ground - no achievement.
3rd week, in addition to DPSing Nefarian below 50% we left one add alive and killed it after Nefarian had landed - still no achievement.
And finally this week we left all 3 adds alive to be killed after Nefarian had landed - still no luck.

According to GuildOx, 3 guilds have done this achievement so far. Anyone happen to know what we're doing wrong ? Clearly it's not working the way the description states, at least.

This achievement is working as intended, but to get it you need to do the following. Using heroism/bloodlust is optional, but helps.

1. You will need three crackles in p1, use heroism bit before you get the third.
2. Right before the crackle hits for the third time, kill Onyxia.
3. You must dps Nefarian to below 65% while he's walking to the middle.
4. You can only dps Nefarian down by 15% during the p2. If you reach those 15% the landing begins. This is why he must be below 65% when p2 begins.
5. Have the adds finished off fast once you have burned Nefarian below 50%.
6. Kill Nefarian.

I can confirm that as of patch 4.1, although the achievement tracker had turned red ("failed") during the fight, by following Keoren's steps, my raid was able to complete the achievement.

I can imagine this misleading bug has discouraged many raids who were attempting this feat.

The achievement started out as red for us, but once he landed at 49%, it turned white.

We did it on 10man today after a couple wipes.
We blown Heroism at 75%
We did killed onyxia when Nefarian was on 69% ( had 1 range manage to get him down at the right time )
This way we got Nefarian at 62% before he went up, had to slow down dps to not get an electrocute in transision

This achievement is working and is trackable. It will turn red in the fight but will turn back to white once you reached him below 50% and you didnt fail.

Quite easy after the 4.2 nerfs to normal modes.

Nuked ony down to ~10% and then nuked Nef, it was nuts, with the DPS in mostly 372 gear, we were getting crackles every 10-15 seconds! Pushed 3 crackles in P1 then killed Ony, pushed 2 more crackles in P2 then killed it normally from there.

With the nerfs, Crackle doesn't really hit very hard, maybe 60k at most, and both bosses have severely reduced HP so they go down fast.

Cata 4.3.2, completed this achievement in two weeks. The first week we spent wiping and getting used to it. It's a good idea not to PuG this because many PuGed people don't even know Nefarian without any twists. We found this out.

The achievement's wording makes it seem pretty simplistic, but in reality it's really not what it appears to be. One complication is that Nefarian can only be damaged a maximum of 15% in phase 2, so you will need to burn him down to 65% or lower in phase one. ****Phase one ends when Onyxia dies, not when Nefarian walks into the middle and takes off. ***** Which means that your DPS have to be really good in order for that last crackle to not cause Onyxia to blow up.

Our raid group stopped DPS completely on Onyxia at 30%, with me (warlock) and the DK tank getting her health down little by little as the raid nuked Nefarian.
DPS tends to be ahead of the crackle, which takes a little bit of time before it goes out. So Nefarian was at 67% when it went off.

Each crackle causes Onyxia's bar to increase by a TON. If your DPS is bad, the third crackle will cause her to explode, which causes a DPS requirement of about 20k for each of your 5 DPS.

On our successful attempt, we got Nefarian down to 63% when we took out the last 2% of Ony's health.

Make sure that pillars are assigned and that the interupters are on the ball. Wiping in P2 after downing P1 correctly is bad.

Have two of the pillars kill their adds immediately, and have a third pillar get the add down to about 20%. After an add dies on your pillar, all DPS should be on Nef.

Do not end Phase 2 by killing the third add, let phase 2 end by taking nef down another 15%. Not doing so is a loss of percentage points on his health. As soon as phase two ends (the lava starts to recede) kill the third add. Then have everyone jump down, blow Lust/Warp, and kill Nef.

Phase three is the same, except that is quite a bit shorter than usual. We actually ended up wiping in Phase 3 once after doing Phase 1 and 2 right. That was a really big bummer.

Paladin healers make good interupters, as so Shaman healers. Healing in phase 2 should not be rough, and the crackles aren't that bad. But missing an interupt for even 1 tick is a wipe, so make sure you don't miss one.

It's a good idea to have your two tanks interupters on their designated pillars, because their DPS output is low, and most can't touch Nef at all. Plus each tanking class has a 10 second CD interupt, which is perfect for the adds.

Hope this helps, completed in 10 man.

* Also, we completed this achievement without any melee DPS. They are bad for this achievement and bad for Nef in general.
